ATL Vineyard Express........Is it possible to give more than 5 stars? This was a surprise for me by…read moremy significant other "he received plenty brownie points for this oneJ". Oh what a wonderful surprise and experience it was........So let's just say that I was very stunned to learn that there were so many wineries in the state of Georgia. This is how my journey unfolded on this beautiful day; I will start with Tom Ward the owner....Mr. Wine Connoisseur himselfJ Very knowledgeable and full of wisdom beyond his years. There wasn't a question that I asked or wanted to learn about wines that Tom wasn't able to provide me with an answer for. Tom was friendly, kind, attentive and very accommodating. Once we got on the tour bus, filled with snacks, water, wine and movies I was like a kid on her way to her very first field trip. We made a stop at one of his pickup locations to pick up two additional lovely ladies. We stopped and had a celebratory toast to begin our wine adventure; it was amazing. From there, we drove to the first winery "Wolf Mountain Vineyard". It was cozy, beautiful, with great ambiance. We had a quick bite (very delicious) and of course several rounds of wine tasting. Then we were off again to our 2nd winery "Serenity Cellars". This in itself was an amazing experience. The staff was remarkable; there was a wide selection of wines red and white. I am normally a sweet wine drinker, but this definitely gave me an opportunity to expand my palate and gave me a better appreciation for different wines. Of course, I could not forget the beautiful young lady that serenaded us with her lovely voice. Lastly, our 3rd winery "Kaya Vineyard & Winery". This winery was a little bit more upbeat, much younger crowd, not as quaint as the other wineries but nonetheless still good. There wines were ok but didn't knock me off my feet. Yes, I still drank it.....all of it lol. The view was amazing, one of the most beautiful rainbows I have ever seen. It was just my luck because then the second rainbow came out; first time ever seeing a double rainbow. So I said all this to say, no matter your level of expertise with wines this is the tour for you. There is something for everyone. I bought several bottles of wine and have been enjoying some and put the rest up for another time. I am a light weight so on the way home I slept like a baby while everyone else enjoyed a great documentary on wines. I am actually looking forward to doing this tour again. Maybe in the Spring or the Summer. One of my best tours ever!!!!! I applaud the level of excellence received at ATL Vineyard Express.

What could be better after a hike on beautiful Yonah Mountain than a visit to nearby Yonah Mountain…read moreVineyards? A lot of things as it turned out. Although the setting is admittedly spectacular, acres of hilly vineyards with views of the mountain behind, and the patio was certainly fancy, the tables each with fire pits in the center providing cheery warmth, the tasting experience itself was sub-par and overpriced. It lacked the authentic feel I've seen in other wineries and seems more of a tourist destination. First thing I noticed is the shockingly high tasting fee of $35 for a flight of 4 2-ounce pours of their choice. No substitutions allowed! Either these are some spectacularly great wines or this is a major rip-off. I passed. But since I was here I decided to have a glass. I got one of their estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon. It was around $16 but since I was here. It was good, but certainly not worth the $48 they charge for a bottle. For the $35 do you get individual attention, descriptions from the bartender about the wines and about their winery? No. You get 4 labeled glasses to take back to your table. Not worth it. Find another place less touristy, more authentic. That shouldn't be hard. There are like 65 wineries in the area!

For $35, you get unlimited wine tastings, a little bit of food and some great music. With your ticket, you get a plate and a glass and you get to peruse the 10 tables, each of which has 6 to 10 wines to try. Between the tables there are some sponsors, plus the shops are open throughout the marketplace. With your ticket, you get 3 raffle tickets which double as food coupons. My only complaint is that the food offerings were minimal. Three vendors were there with food - an Italian food vendor (I don't remember their name) with pizza and bruschetta, Moe's Southwest Grill with chips and salsa and Atkins Park Tavern with fried green tomatoes with pimento cheese - this was the winner! They raffled off some fun prizes and the event overall was quite lovely. I would say that in the future they should block off the main street of the marketplace from auto traffic as it caused a few issues - it would certainly make for a better event in the future.

However, you will have a lovely time trying as many wines as you could possibly taste in 3 hours. This year, they had 86 different wines at 14 different tables. I'm pretty familiar with California wines but not so much with European or South American wines, so it was fun to use this event to learn about and try some of these other wines. Most tables were a mix of different white and red wines from a variety of locations, although there were a few tables that had wines entirely from "Spain," "South Africa," or "California," which was fun. I was surprised there was lots of bubbly, too -- always fun to have sparkling wine! I loved that they gave out a flyer with a map of all the tables and the wines found at each table. The price of all the wines was also listed there. We started with the expensive wines first, but this booklet was also helpful because The Wine Cellars (the host) had all the wines available for sale so we stopped by afterwards to pick up our favorites. I also used the flyer to keep track of our ratings of the wines and which we had tasted. Expect a generous tasting pour -- 1/5 or 1/6 of a wine glass for each. Music was great and perfectly paired for the occasion, especially that they had two bands at each side of the Market Village shopping center so it was never outside earshot. Lots of food available at the several adjacent restaurants. If I were to have one suggestion, it'd be to give out a souvenir wine glass that is actually glass. The plastic ones were functional (and safe for an alcoholic event), but a highlight of beer or wine festivals is a take-home glass and it'd be fun to have one for this event, too, even if you pick it up on your way out.

We were greeted by Fernando, who was warm, welcoming, and incredibly hospitable from the start. We had our hearts set on items from the lunch menu, even though that time had passed, and Fernando made it happen anyway. Every bite was satisfying, and the side of marinara really hit the spot. The atmosphere throughout the restaurant felt warm and inviting. We also had the chance to meet Paul, the owner, who was just as friendly and down to earth. This place made a great impression on us, and we will definitely be back.

There's also additional parking across the street if needed. It was our first time visiting, and we came on the recommendation of a foodie friend who especially encouraged us to try the gelato. Unfortunately, the cookies & cream flavor was so popular that they had sold out and hadn't restocked yet, so we tried the coconut instead. It ended up being a very pleasant surprise. It's rare for me to find such flavorful coconut gelato at a non-Asian restaurant. The taste was rich and authentic, very close to real coconut rather than the artificial-flavored versions. We had: - Prosciutto di Parma panini: I know prosciutto is typically served cold, but I was happy that the sandwich itself was warm overall. Next time, I'd probably ask for the cheese to be melted more. - Chicken Parmesan panini - Build-your-own cheese pizza with tomato sauce: very satisfying, though next time I may ask if they can make an all cheese version without the tomato sauce. The portions were generous and the food was delicious. The panini was packed with thick slices of prosciutto, and I actually had to take most of my meal home because it was a bit too many for breakfast. Since we arrived very early, we were the only dine in customers at the time. The restaurant has that cozy, neighborhood establishment atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable right away. The gentleman who took our order and seemed to be managing the restaurant was incredibly friendly and attentive. We could feel the warmth and hospitality throughout the visit. We really enjoyed our experience and definitely plan to come back sometime to try the dinner menu. Highly recommended!
