I wish I had heard of John Goess Roofing and met with Marcos first. It would have saved me a lot of frustration and wasted time. He was the last one I met with, and I knew immediately he was who I wanted to work with. My instincts were right. Our roof was replaced 2 days ago, and I couldn't be happier. I hesitate to recommend contractors, not everyone will have the same experience, but I have zero reservations with recommending this company. I even offered my phone number to Marcos if anyone wants to speak to a recent customer. Yes, that helps the company, but I'm just trying to pay it forward. It was all the amazing reviews others left online that made me call Marcos in the first place. So thank you to everyone who took the time. Over the course my year-long search, I did a deep dive on how a roof is supposed to be done. Marcos took pictures during the replacement and I'd be happy to share them so you can see the quality of their work. And price-wise, they were not the lowest and nowhere near the highest, but I definitely feel I got the best quality for my money. John Goess Roofing is a topnotch professional company. Thank you, Marcos!

The first heavy storm after our roof replacement happened sooner than I would have preferred, but…read moreit ended up being a good test. The new roof handled it without any water entering the building. Before replacement, the surface had blisters, cracked seams, and several areas that held water. We reviewed repair and replacement options, and the condition of the insulation made replacement the more sensible choice. The old layers were removed down to the wood deck. Most of the wood was sound, although several boards near the front parapet needed to be replaced. A self-adhered modified-bitumen system was installed over new insulation and a cover board. The chimney flashing, plumbing vents, and roof hatch were all completed individually. Additional taper was used near the rear drain to improve water flow. The Royal Renovators Inc. crew protected the front planting area and used the rear access for debris. We found a few scraps of membrane near the neighboring fence after completion, but they returned and picked them up the next morning. The final documents included photos, material information, and the written warranty. Months later, the roof is still draining well and the interior stains have not returned.

The roof on one my buildings had reached the point where the frequency of repairs were becoming…read more.. exponentially more frequent. So, it was time -- full roof replacement. Since the building is both commercial and residiential, one of the biggest concerns was minimizing disruption to tenants, and of course keeping everything on budget and organized. From the start, Royal Renovators seemed to understand these concerns and put together a plan that worked around the building's daily operations. The existing roof was removed, damaged areas were addressed/fized, and a new roofing system was installed along with snazzy updated flashing and drainage improvements. Communication throughout the project was - chefs kiss - and we always knew what stage things were in. As expected, there were additional conditions unconvered that needed to be addressed. But, these guys were transparent about it, laid out the options like they did before, and it didnt turn into pressure or surprises. What stood out was how transparent they were when additional conditions were uncovered. Every decision was discussed beforehand and documented with photos. In the end, the new roof was completed on time, and is performing exactly as expected.

He was very responsive. He patiently addressed all our questions and concerns (and we had a lot of questions) prior to starting, during and even after the process. Brian worked with us on setting up all the logistics prior to starting and on the day of the team was on time and efficiently removed and installed the new roof and skylights. Brian came to make sure things were moving along fine. The gutter team had to be scheduled for another day due to the weather but they arrived on time and had everything done within the day. The roof looked wavy at first but after the shingles settled in it looks great! Our attic fan had a few drops get in from rain. Brian had someone come in the next day to take a look and address the situation and it was promptly fixed. Communication was a huge plus for us, we would definitely recommend All Weather Guards.

That person gave me preliminary findings and showed me pictures of problem areas on the roof. Arnie came by another day to go over the requirements of what would be needed to install a new roof, his credentials and the guarantees offered. He then provided me an estimate that night. A few days later, his workers came, tore off the old roof, put new plywood throughout the whole roof, lined the roof and then shingled it. They had almost the whole roof done in a day, but did need a little time the next morning to finish up (which Arnie previously told me might happen). The workers were very professional, courteous, knowledgeable and worked hard. They left the property very clean. A few days after the new roof was installed, we had a few days of very heavy rain and the roof did great. I would highly recommend Arnie Blake for roofing. I would bet that his company's work in other areas are just as good.

There were ongoing issues with both workmanship and execution. A tub faucet was installed in a shower, paint coverage was uneven and inconsistent, and multiple areas were left in the wrong color despite being told everything was complete. At times, a different, lower-quality white paint than what we had purchased was used. During the project, multiple glass windows were broken and plexiglass was installed in a historic bay window instead of properly replacing it with the materials we purchased. A tile floor had to be removed and redone after being installed without regard to the pattern, and we had to intervene to prevent a countertop from being cut in the wrong location. A significant amount of materials we purchased for the project, including tile, paint, and three ceiling light fixtures, were not returned or accounted for. When we attempted to reconcile materials, we were unable to get clear or consistent answers. Materials (we purchased) were also requested well in advance of when they were actually needed, and the materials used on site often did not match what we had purchased for the project. This, combined with the lack of clear accounting, raised concerns about how materials were being handled across jobs. Overall, the experience lacked attention to detail, transparency, and accountability, and we would not work with him again.

The cleanup could have been a little more thorough. I'm still finding large nails in my flower beds in front of my house. Pretty sure it's because the protective tarp fell down halfway through the process. The dumpster they used for the job was owned by a third party who did not pick up the leftover material right away. It took 5 days for the dumpster company to come by to pick up their dumpster, and by that time they were already dents in my driveway from the weight. Word of advice: ask which dumpster company they will be using/timeline to pick up the material, and make sure when the dumpster is placed that there are large plywood sheets under the legs to spread the weight and prevent driveway damage.
