I LOVE Divine Body Art. I started seeing Sam here after my bestie got a beautiful moth tattoo from her while she was still an apprentice, and it's been game over since then. Sam originally did a custom shin piece for me - all I did was give her a rough description of what I was looking for and she blew me away with what she did. I love my Bat Boy tattoo. My tattoo artist is Mallory Reynolds, and I will only go to her for my tattoos. She is such a kind and compassionate person, she's great for newbies and veterans of the tattoo world. I'm severely needle phobic and she has worked really hard with me so I could get my pieces done. She's done 4 out 5 of my tattoos and she even fixed one of them that I got at another shop. She fairly charges for her art and I've never have felt like I was being scammed by her. During the tattoo she checks in repeatedly and never makes you feel bad if you have to take a break. I've gotten 2 tattoos here - one from April (also the owner) & one from Amy. I've gone to A LOT of tattoo shops & this shop has to be my favorite color work. You gotta follow the shop & the artists on IG to know when their books open for appts because they fill up quick! They will have last minute cancellations & will have random appts available posted on IG. They also do flash tattoos days (like one coming up on Fri the 13th) for folks looking for a lower cost tattoo. I've had positive experiences with both April & Amy via e-mail & in person. I've given them my ideas & then they work their magic. They're both very professional & personable too. I felt welcomed in the studio. I got a small tattoo from April & a larger piece from Amy. During my appt with Amy, she made sure I had a break & she reminded me to get water & a snack --they have fun size candy in their waiting area. I'm an introvert & can handle a bit of small talk here & there, but there's no pressure to be super talkative during the session. They'll just jam out to their music if your prefer to sit quietly or be on your phone. I love the artwork & decor at the studio. So much to look at! I did some long and serious searches for a local tattoo artist here near my home. Was looking for someone that I could relate to, and I came across Divine Body Art Studio and was able to look at all the artist page and really liked Mallory's story and reached out to her via Instagram, we've been texting off and on for several months and today finally got my tattoo and I love it a Marigold and Cosmos, which is October birth flowers. What can I say? There was no part of this experience that wasn't fabulous. Amy was my artist and I'd give her 6 stars if I could. Every interaction with Amy, pre appointment, was phenomenal. I emailed to make sure she knew I was a big gal and, not only did she make me feel at ease, she made me celebrated. When I arrived at the studio, we adjusted her design together...bringing back some sketch marks, switched up the colors of the background and elephant. Then we were off and running. The stencil went on well and about 3 hours later, Henrietta was born. The colors are vibrant and the tattoo, overall, is just so joyful. I got home, looked at the photos Amy took for me, and I really LOOKED at all the work she put in. Each tiny detail...drops of teal, the little lines of the sketch, the folds in the tutu...it was overwhelming. Queue the waterworks. The summer of 2019 I several imprints of my dog's paw to eventually get it tattooed on me. She was only 10, so I had an eternity. Sadly, Bailey crossed the rainbow bridge 5 months later. I held onto those paw prints waiting for the perfect person to make them permanent on my body, and that's when I found Amy in 2021. I am so glad I waited because Amy's attention to detail with capturing individual hairs and uniqueness of my pup's paw print made that tattoo come alive. It wasn't just some standard paw print, but uniquely Bailey's! While getting the tattoo, Amy and I discussed getting her portrait done. Actually, I am the one who told Amy that I wanted it, and she was onboard with the idea. I trusted her not because of her expansive portfolio of amazing dog portrait tattoos, but I knew that if she made a paw print come alive, then she would absolutely do the same with Bailey's portrait. I was not wrong. I am about 1 1/2 week out of getting the portrait added. The tattoo itself was about 5 hours with Amy again paying close attention to my pup's individual features such as her funny coat, variations of color, and something simple as adding her name to her tag. I asked her to add her harness which was not included in the reference photo I provided, and what Amy came up with is truly perfect with how it fit Bailey! Again, her attention to detail and amazing creativity is what makes Amy one of the best! I got a memorial tattoo designed by Amy. My husband & I loved to snorkel, mostly in Hawaii. I knew I wanted a turtle in Amy's watercolor style. I also wanted something to represent 'love', which I originally thought of an infinity loop. During the consultation we came up with the turtle with coral behind and Amy suggested a subtle heart in the coral. That suggestion made it so personal & more meaningful to me. TL,DR: Amy did such an amazing job on my very FIRST tattoo that I fell asleep drooling on the table during the entire session! Let me start with saying that I waited over 3+ years to get this tattoo done because I was specifically looking for an artist that can create a watercolor background of my pup's paw print. My pup passed away unexpectedly and it broke me. It was really important to me that I found someone who understood how meaningful he was to me. I found Amy through Instagram and what really drew me to her portfolio was that she had a couple clients with brown skin (such as myself) with beautiful watercolor tattoo pieces. I reached out for a consult & 8+ months later I finally got my first tattoo. The shop is very clean, warm, inviting and welcoming. There's tea and some other beverages by the counter when you walk in. Beautiful Disney themed artwork everywhere, and the table + instruments were obviously clean and sanitary and made me feel very comfortable. Amy is lovely, warm & welcoming and went over my ideas about what I wanted. She drew out a sketch and went over placing, and coloring with me very thoroughly. I described the colors I wanted and I couldn't be happier with the result I got. Amy incorporated the details of my pup's nails, fur between his toe beans, and the beautiful watercolor transition in the background to make his paw print "pop" and stand out. Amy was very kind and chatted with me during most of the session before I fell asleep and drooled on the table.
