This is a Muslim based braid shop, managed by men who percieve themselves as champions of women. I felt attacked, oppressed, both verbally and emotionally. I arrived at 5:45pm. I sat there until 6:45pm. The entire hour I was in the chair waiting on the hair technician, the owner Quasim was yelling and screaming blabbering about something as he was doing hair- like he was preaching a sermon, LOUDLY! The energy was very tense and uncomfortable. My son and I were harassed by several of his "cleaning staff". They looked like some people from off the street. They constantly touched me and my son without my permission. Very unclean. When the braid technician finally arrived, the owner walked out after whispering something to a man sitting by the tv. The braider was very irritated and was extremely demanding pointing at me and telling me to hurry so she can stretch my hair before braiding. I sat in her chair and tried to explain how I wanted my hair done. She said she don't speak English She was laughing and as she was parting my hair she was speaking in French to the other lady. Made me feel uncomfortable. So I asked the other braider, "can you explain to her how I want my hair?" Quasim returned into the shop and asked the man sitting by the tv a question. Then he immediately came over to me and began yelling at me- the customer, saying I was treating his people like slaves. I was so confused. I had no idea what he was talking about. I asked the technician to stop touching my hair. I gathered my personal belongings and I left. I stated that I felt mistreated and disrespected by the owner and the braider and the man who was watching the tv. To say the least, I will not be returning to this shop to support this business ever again. I would like an apology both written and verbal. The first photo is how I wanted my hair styled.
