This is tough to write, but I would want to know this stuff if I were looking for a new salon.
This business is run by a woman who is the main / only waxer. It is located in a single room within another salon called "Primp," which itself is located in the basement of a house. The parking lot is small, but there's street parking.
My friend and I have both gone here for waxing (twice each). For ALL four visits, on different days/months, Kourtney was more than 20 minutes late - without any call or notice. Once it was over 30 minutes. Anyone can run behind or get busy occasionally, but this was every single visit. It was just so much time time wasted. The kicker is that this comes after you sign a form with a many different disclaimers and gripes - including a lateness / timing policy. The little basement waiting area is OK, but no one was masked.
We also both felt weird that for every visit, she came into the room wearing just a stained bra. Yes individual style and all, but at least wearing a shirt is a normal expectation for clients coming to a business. This just got weird with how close you are to each other.
Although I'm sure she must clean her hands, she doesn't do it in front of you - which other waxers I've seen have always done. Personally I also felt pressure to buy her homemade products, which looked off - would not recommend.
Might have dealt with some or all of that if the wax had been good, but it wasn't good for either of us. Not quite even, patchy, felt rushed, very painful compared to others, and after the final visit, was left with a rash for a week.
Kourtney seemed nice, but we ended up going to a different place nearby that corrected the wax job and was cleaner, less rushed, and better overall. I wish I had an idea of what it was like before we started coming here, because it took up a lot of extra time, money, and still left us feeling gross. read more
