On the menu, there was a 1/4 chicken special advertised in two places. One was a breast and leg for a price, and the other was chef's choice (alternating breast and leg) for a lower price. Since I wanted two dinners, I asked the waitress what the difference was in the two specials. She had to get someone else to come and explain it: With the chef's choice, it wasn't guaranteed you would get one breast and one leg. You could get two legs, or two breasts. With the other special, it was for sure there would be one breast and one leg. Feeling frugal, I went with the chef's choice. I only had to wait about 5 minutes for the food. During this time, I was entertained by a television overhead, and I had a glass of water. Bags are not provided with the takeout boxes. And as expected, I did get one breast and one leg. I hope to go back at some point.

We started with two apps Chevre chaud poire pochee and Ris de veau croustillant. Chevre chaud is a little cheese pattie with warm cheese it was served on a little bit of salad. Ris de veau is 3 piece of fried calf. If you want to share your app I would go with the Chevre chaud. I thought the portion for Ris de veau was a little small. Right about now I noticed that everyone around us was getting some warm bread with butter. I looked at the menu to try and see if that was something we needed to order as an app. I did not see it on the menu so I assume it's just given as your app while you wait for your dinner. I got the beef tartar as my main dish. You have the option of picking between a garden salad or fries to go with it. I went with the fries. They are served with some mayo, just like I like it. The beef chart was delicious. Portion are good. This might also be an option if you want to share an app. It comes in two sizes, I got the bigger one. For dessert, I picked a crème brûlée with a cheese platter . Crème brûlée comes with a lovely crust , which I honestly enjoyed quite a lot. It is a very thin layer of crème brûlée with a thicker than usual sugar crust. The cheese platter came with three very small piece some bread and a jam. I would believe to be blueberries. I was disappointed by the cheese platter not because the cheese were bad ones but just because it was a three bite done deal. I would've liked a bigger portion to share. Overall, very positive experience.

My pal and I workout down the street so I've had the pleasure of frequenting the spot semi-regularly on its quieter nights. As several reviewers have mentioned, the beers are hella cheap here. It's also worth mentioning that the majority of the beer is house brew and it's pretty good (particularly for the price). Given this feature of their drink prices comes the downside to this place: it gets PACKED. And not in a fun way. When this place gets full people are piled up on each other making it really difficult to get around. I also find that the crowd changes to unsavoury characters the more the night carries on. Once you hit peak business hour at this place it kinda feels like a gross frat house party. But back to the positives. The food is really accessible and pretty affordable (much like the drinks). My two go-tos are the grilled romaine salad and the tartar (the appetizer format is a perfect small meal and it comes with a salad). They used to have a larger menu with more pub menu-type options but I can still appreciate the variety offered now. Finally, I should mention that I find the service pretty variable. When they're really packed you can be waiting quite a while for your server and you can only order at the bar if you're seated there. It's definitely improved over the years but the servers also tend to be on the inexperienced (and drunk) side. Not the worst, but definitely could be improved on!

After checking reviews and previous posts on their Facebook page, I see they used to offer more burger options and even tacos but these have been removed. We came here on a Friday evening around 6pm, it was already full but we managed to find a table and spent the next couple hours enjoying ourselves for the most part. The atmosphere is hip, the banquet seats were comfy and everything we ordered tasted great. We tried their pogo mac and cheese which is deep fried mac and cheese on a stick, topped with green onions, bacon and sour cream, served with fries. This was decadent and very fitting for "bar food". We also got fried chicken, falafels and poutine which were equally delicious. The food is very salty so you want to drink more. The prices are a little steep for how small their portions are and I also realised that the 3$ beers are not the best deal in town, if you want a full pint, you'll need two, so the price ends up being similar to other bars. This is however a great way to sample the variety without breaking the bank. The biggest problem we had was with slow service. Now I haven't been to a bar in a while and understand that perhaps they are not trying to turn tables as quickly as servers would in a regular restaurant, however this place was severely understaffed. Le Blind Pig can seat 80 people and there was only one server + the barman for the entire evening. We waited a long time to get our order taken and even longer if we just asked for a glass of water. Despite the slow service, I really like the vibe and the food, this bar is a great addition to the neighborhood. I would give it another try since it was overall fun. Also, cool detail - the bathroom has a commununal sink for men and women, comprised of many little shower heads to mimic rainfall. Very NEAT.

As a table of 4, we started by sharing the Charcuterie platter Plein Sud. Unfortunately, we dug in too fast for me to take a picture, but it was very beautiful. Came with several varieties of cured meats, cheeses, grapes, fig jam, and nuts. The only complaint is that the pieces of cheese were so incredibly small, like the size of a piece of cheese you'd cut at home to eat yourself. But these tiny pieces were meant for sharing. We asked the waitress for a wine recommendation, but she didn't seem well versed in wine and kept telling us all the wine was good. We were looking for a more specific recommendation then that.
