Nice little unassuming pub. Good to hang out in. Bartender was super friendly and helpful, hence the five stars. We like friendly service.

I can't believe it, the draft beer is only 3$ a pint! Not a big selection of food but what we ordered was really good (chicken nuggets and nachos with home made guacamole and salsa) Great place for a cheap 5 à 7

Max was an awesome bartender. Delicious food. Ambiance was a bit bland, but overall, it was another great meal.

All of their…read morepoached eggs dishes are great, and sometimes they have specials like blueberry pancakes with creme fraiche. I highly recommend the Bene Ole which is a breakfast poutine: poached egg, eggs benedict sauce, potatoes, pickles, bacon. It's huge and VERY tasty. I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They also have smoothies, your usual espresso selection like lattes, mimosas, and more. I highly recommend coming before noon. Around that time the place begins to become packed and it's a small spot. Seating is kind of smushed. I've seen groups of 6 before, 7 or more may be pushing it. They do take reservations I believe so maybe they'll accommodate you. Tip: ask for the orange hot sauce, they make their own and it's great on everything.

I had a fried chicken salad with naan. I like the combination of ingredients in this dish. It's tasty, it's a bit over seasoning. The dish was too salty for me. This happened to the full breakfast my friend ordered as well, too salty. I didn't try the fruit juice but apparently it's really popular. The place is small and always packed with people in the morning. It's better to come around noon.

He had been here before when he last…read morevisited Montreal and had good things to say, and since he was open to checking this place out again we thought it would be a good place to go. We were already exploring the area so it seemed like a natural fit, so off we went. My general assessment of Else's is that it is more of a neighborhood spot than a destination eatery, which is totally fine because usually those are some of the best spots. Upon entry, we were greeted by a large open dining area with tables scattered throughout and a bar along one of the back walls. The decor is casual, with a dark color scheme to match the bar setting. Their drink menu is larger than their food menu, but despite that they have a nice variety. I didn't see any pattern with the food - there was a mix of plate sizes and types of cuisines. The pulled pork sliders looked good so I went with those; the dish came with two sliders and a side of coleslaw. I really enjoyed this - there was a generous helping of pork in each slider and the sauce had a nice tang to it. I'm normally not a fan of slaw since it is usually cream-based, but this one wasn't so it was quite refreshing and a good contrast to the pork. Service was great, the entire team was friendly. Overall, this was a really good find in Montreal - if you're looking for something low-key with solid food then this would be ideal. I'm interested how the vibe changes at night, so I would be open to returning in the evening for a drink and to explore more of their menu.

The kind of place you wish you had in your neighborhood, so people would call your neighborhood "vibrant" too. The menu is small and eclectic (tacos, butter chicken, Mac 'n' cheese). I had a giant Moscow Mule to start, and ordered Butter Tofu, one of several vegetarian options. The rice was perfect and the sauce was good, though the large cubes of tofu were a bit bland themselves. Wifething had the fancy mac 'n' cheese, which was creamy and smooth. Endlessly busy on a Saturday night, but a good mix of two-tops and larger (8-10) groups. Great service and friendly staff!

They all are setup like dive bars with a large menu with really affordable prices. Many years ago, the Plateau location had everything on the food menu for less than $5...that was a while ago.....Now with inflation.....the prices across all restaurants are a bit higher, but still a good deal when compared to others in the same commercial area. The story of these restaurants began in Vancouver's entertainment district. Today the company has a collection of 20+ food forward dive bars all across Canada and Washington State. The menu ranges from burgers to soft tacos and healthy salads. This was my first time at the downtown Montreal location on rue Crescent.....I had their Asian noodle salad (which is called Union Salad here) and it was delicious. Fresh ingredients like marinated chicken, avocado, cucumber, mandarin oranges organic mixed greens, Napa cabbage, toasted almonds, cilantro, and sweet sesame-soy-ginger dressing...all nicely placed over a delicious bed of soft and warm Chow Mein noodles, made this dish a delight....I have been known to ask for this salad....multiple times through the years and this particular one was one of the best ones made by a Warehouse location. My server was nice and very polite...I sat on the terrace and it was a great way to enjoy watching the city go by as I had my lunch. They have happy hour drink specials daily from 2-5pm.
