She is an absolute professional, I have spent hundreds upon hundreds to get my hair done but she is better than any stylist I have ever worked with. She's attentive to your wants and needs but she will be honest and upfront with you because she wants you as a lifelong client. She takes the condition of your hair and will tell you in order to get it to this color, this is what is going to happen. She will NOT put herself to damage your hair. That's where the saying "patience is a virtue" comes into play. I absolutely admire her honesty and professionalism. I was feeling uncomfortable about trying a weave again since the last time I had one turned out horrible! I had tried two different stylist who did my weaves and neither one got it right. One could only sew in the hair and left you to style. The other just added too much hair. So needless to say, I was done with weaves. But once my hair told me she was tired of being heat styled every day and I need to give her a break, before she decided to "break" on her own. I decided to give a weave another try. I also let her know I have a severe allergy to Argan oil. My hair is 90-95% gray. To be fair, I knew the ends were dry, and buildup from styling products had caused some yellowing. I had recently begun using Olaplex No. 4C Bond Maintenance Clarifying Shampoo and CURLSMITH - Double Cream Deep Quencher - Vegan Moisturising Deep Conditioner to address these issues. On July 7 at 2:58 pm, I spoke with Christy on the phone and reiterated what I said in my text, I was looking for a TRIM. Based on our conversation and her 5-star reviews, I scheduled an appointment for the following week. When I arrived, Christy repeatedly told me the ends of my hair were "dead" and all needed to be cut off. Then, with complete disregard for the TRIM I requested, she began cutting off what appeared to be at least 3-4 inches of hair. I told her no fewer than two times that I was VERY concerned with the amount of hair she was cutting off. Again, she said my ends were "dead". I again expressed concern at how much she was cutting off. She then stretched my curly hair in her hand and said, "To me, it still looks the same length." Anyone with African American hair knows that when we cut off two inches of our hair while it is wet, as the hair dries and curls up again, it looks like twice as much hair has been cut off. I walked into Exquisite Styles with hair that was almost to my shoulders (when completely dry). I now have hair that does not even reach my earlobes.
