I read all these bad reviews and still decided to give them a shot in September and my daughter and I have been only going here since. I haven't had an issue. The price is high but I always pay them what they ask for. Six days ago I got a fill in and when I got home, I noticed bubbles in the in a polish on my hands fast-forward to two days ago. It started peeling and not just one finger like six fingers or peeling so I went there and spoke to the person at the front desk and she said OK we'll take care of you. When I was finished, they charged me to fix my nails after saying that they will fix it. It wasn't done properly in the first place. They were also talking negative about me. Saying that I haven't been there in a long time and my nails are already grown out and I said no this is how they were done. I just did not notice it until a couple days later and now I'm here because now I have time to be here because I work They were saying i am a New Yorker and saying that's how those people are but they didn't know that I had the translator on in my AirPods and it saddened me to hear them talk negatively about me when I'm not only a new client, I'm also a consistent kind and friendly customer who doesn't disrespect them. I always tip them. I always pay them what they ask, so for my nails to be so badly done and badly damaged after a few days. I expected them to fix it and they did not care all they cared about was the money and saying"I worked so I deserve to be paid for my work" but I already paid for this five days ago then I was told that I'm supposed to come back the next day. Not 10 days later and I said I was not here 10 days ago. I was here five days ago whether you believe it or not, and I showed them a photo in my phone of the day that I did my nails to prove that I was there less than a week ago I cannot come back the next day I have to work. I came back when I had time. So they just lost a loyal customer so when I was leaving and I said that that's when I got an I'm sorry, but the damage is already done. I will never go back there. And if I knew that they were going to charge me to fix it, I would not of got my daughter's nails and feet done and got my feet done there I would've went somewhere else. I went there and I explained what was going on and had them look at my nails and they said We're gonna take care of you and fix it but they charged me then they're gonna say if you would've done the exact same color then it would've been free, which is crazy because why would I use a polish that is bad the polish is bubbling and peeling off like old cheap paint it should not be doing that so why would you tell me I have to use that same polish for it to be free because it's not free. I already paid five days ago. One thing they were right about is in New York City. This would've never happened and they would've never charged to correct a mistake on an issue at a customer is having because consistent clientele is worth more than quick money. read more

I didn't read the reviews before I came (oops), but I had an 'ok' experience. The chairs weren't super clean and I watched my tech 'clean' the equipment in my dirty foot water for the next customer, but the overall experience was 'fine.' Just know what you're getting when you come in and have the expectations that it's what you're getting. I don't live in the area, so won't be back, but the pros are that there is a HUGE variety of colors and the tech I had was very nice. Didn't try to upsell more than normal. read more

PLEASE !!! DO NOT COME HERE !!!! I went to this nail salon last minute with my friends for a simple pedicure. Had I known the lady would start shaving my foot with a cheese grader, I would not have come. This place was so insanely unsanitary in every way possible. I understand it is a mall, but the amount of flies and roaches I saw is so unacceptable it's a shame this place still receives business. My pedicure took probably 15 minutes max and was $45 (without tip) compared to any other nail salon I've gone to for the same service which usually takes 30 minutes for $35. Worst manicure I have ever gotten. Staff was rude and unprofessional. Place is filthy I saw dust bunnies on the floor. Tools were clearly used and not sterilized what so ever. I am surprised i didn't get nail fungus or an infection honestly. Nails chipped about 4 days after getting them done. I never usually leave reviews or complain but this one is necessary. I came here one evening to get a manicure and pedicure. (Prices are higher than other salons in the area.) The woman who did my nails was super nice but I felt the job was definitely low-quality. My polish did not dry smooth and had numerous air bubbles and bumps. The polish had streaks and cracks in it and you could see exposed parts where there was supposed to be a second coat of paint. The worst part was that I was rushed and the woman who did my nails ran out the door as soon as she finished. I couldn't even ask her to fix up the job. I ended up having to re-do both my fingers and toes myself the next day when I got home. I am not a happy camper and I will NOT be returning here ever again. Horrible. I went in for a full set and an older woman took me and she was the most brutal nail tech I've ever had in my life. She was upset I didn't have time to include a pedicure. I told her I would come back the next day as I only had an hour. I know they couldn't fit both in. She used the highest grit for my cuticles making 3-4 fingers actually bleed. I kept saying ow and pulled my hands back to which she just rolled her eyes. Then, had an attitude with me because she had to clean the wounds with alcohol. How dare I bleed? My fault, Miss. On top of this, I asked for a THIN coffin cut. I made it very clear.. . Nothing about my nails were thin coffin. She used an old gel and had to stop and look for a different one. I was completely polite the entire time because I understand, everyone has bad days. I was happy with the color so I tried to focus on the positive. Once the polish was on, she threw the over hot towel on my hands and said OK done. I said you're done? No lotion no cuticle oil? She said no. I was like oh okay. Strange because it's ALWAYS part of a manicure but at this point I was over it and didn't want her touching me any more. Once I got to my car I took a better look... Rather disappointing. I was at the Trumbull mall and figured I would stop in here out of convenience and treat my hands because they are dry from the cold weather and could use s filing. Bad choice. They filed my nails into a lopsided shape. My finger under my nail is actually cut from the nail file. My hands ended up drier than before. Very little attention. I was the only customer, there were a half dozen employees. I felt like I was an inconvenience to them. No paraffin wax, no massage. I know those things aren't always offered, just letting others know not to expect it. They acted like I was making a bad decision because I didn't want gel polish. I couldn't wait to leave. Came in for a medi/pedi on a Friday evening around 6pmish. Wasn't greeted. It was simply "What you want? Ok. Pick color". Not a big deal. It's the same type of thing at other nail salons. Sat down for my pedi first. I got the deluxe one which was a few $$ more. I usually only get my nails done about 4x a year so when I do go, I try to make it special. The deluxe pedi came with a salt scrub of your choice (lavender, lemon, about 4 other options). However, I was never asked which one I wanted. She just used lavender. On top of that, it felt extremely rushed. They were busy so I could understand trying to get people in and out but this was just too rushed. When I was done, she threw my flip-flops on and asked me to move to the mani table. That's where I noticed the color on my big toe was smudged a lot so I told the nail tech. She seemed annoyed. Added a few more layers to "fix" it and called it a done deal. I couldn't communicate with my nail tech at all throughout the whole process which made it hard. I'm sensitive to language barriers, however, I couldn't even describe what I wanted. I pointed at colors and brought up pictures on my phone but still didn't end up with my desired style. Here it is, less than a week after my visit, and all my nails are chipped. I actually have two with no color at all. My toes usually last a lot longer than my fingers, but even those are messed up. I was hoping to have a great experience here because of the convenience of the location (being able to shop at the mall and get your nails done in the same place) but I won't be going here again. read more

Only not a 1 Star because the worker I had was really sweet. I was excited trying out gel for the first time as a test before my vacation. I liked that they had the matching gel and regular polish together. While doing my manicure she filed my nail beds not buffed them FILED them. This is my first time so idk if this is normal or what. It looked fine after it was completed. However by the end of the next day one of my nails broke. The other nails over the next few days began to lift on the sides. By the time a full week has passed I could pull the gel color right off. My nails underneath were so rough and uneven. Never in my life have my nails felt like this. A month later one my pinky nail is still recovering and growing out the dent left in my nail from her filing my nail beds. I won't go back. Paid $65 for a regular pedi and gel manicure + tip using my card. Never again. read more

I came with a friend and the first thing i noticed was that they were trying to up-sell us. then, their equipment/tools were both unsanitized and already used on other clients. the clippers they used on me had someone else's cuticles stuck to it and the nail files were clearly old and had been used already. the tech who did my nails filed them down until they were paper thin and PAINFUL! my nails came out uneven and messy & within hours they were already lifting. the day after, 6 nails had already popped off!! She did a horrible job and kept trying to fix it by applying more and more layers of nail polish that was just making it worse. Horrible customer service. Last night, I got a full set of coffin nails- french. The tech who did my nails told me to " come back tomorrow" and she would fix it. She went home. The remaining employees didn't understand my request for a manager, atleast they pretended not to comprehend. Then one woman told me to come back tomorrow and she will fix " for free". This was confusing because I paid and invonveniencing me is NOT FREE!! It will cost me time and gas to return there. Then she continued on telling me that they charge her extra to stay in the mall late, as though I was suppose to care. Customer service is just not a priority here. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! I am very difficult to make mad, and I was ~mad~. I came here with 3 of my friends and when we all finished we all had to complain about the same problems. They were rude in welcoming us in. They also kept asking us to spend more money when we made it clear about what we wanted. They rushed through the entire process, constantly having to wipe off and redo nails, clean edges, and applying layers and layers of polish. I ended up with a whole 5 layers and all she had to say was "the polish is bad." If the polish is bad than get another bottle or find a similar shade instead of just doing a crappy job. They also left my cuticles messy and un-neat and my nails were not cut completely uneven. And the end result was h e i n o u s . This was hands down the worst place I've ever visited and my friends and I said the exact same. My nails started chipping and smudging before I even left the salon and I wasn't even offered to fix it even though I clearly demonstrated that I was not happy and complained. I went Trumbull Mall yesterday with my family to shop on New Year's Eve. I was back to work the next day and I had a previous manicure on me that was chipped & it was time for a refresh. We walked by Diva Nails and I told my husband that I would meet him in 30 minutes and that I wanted to get a mani. Boy, did I make the WORST decision ever!!! I walked in and all staff was talking in their language loudly & obnoxious. I told the main man at the desk that I wanted a manicure. He told me to go to the table where a elderly employee was. She was cold, asked me 4 times if I wanted gel manicure (I didn't and told her that.) and then proceeded to ask if I wanted extensions. I looked around and it was filthy. She took the tools out of her desk station. They weren't wrapped or sanitized, obviously. The entire place was dirty which they try so hard to mask with loads of nail polish racks and colors. The front desk guy was trying to fix the waterfall plexi glass that was shooting water everywhere. The employees weren't concentrating on the clients. They kept talking. This nail tech that I had took forever to remove my polish. She kept saying: "red, red" Honey, I know it red. It comes off!!! I had to grab the paper towel she was using to rub the polish off myself after she attempted to do it, with fail, several times. She then grabbed the cutical clipper and proceeded to tear my pinky and make it bleed!! I told her: "No, no. Don't cut my cuticles." She then grabbed dusty eye glasses out of her desk and put them on. Like that was going to help my situation? She began to file my nails with an old, rusty metal file!!!! I told her it was dirty. Why wasn't anything sanitized here? She said: "It clean, it clean" I had enough at this point. I told her just to do a base coat of clear polish. She said to "pay now". I was thinking in my head, what the hell was I paying for??? I paid the guy at tje desk $12 for a botched up manicure. It was hardly a manicure. I paid the guy at the cash registered and asked told him that the woman tech I had is horrible. No answer. Just "Deer-in-headlights" look. This establishment needs a complete renovation and needs to sanitize. They also need skilled techs that know what they are doing and want to please the client/customer. I will never, ever go back there. When I left and walked around the mall and realized there was another salon that looked amazing, I wanted to slap myself in the face! Never again. read more

Worst nail salon in CT! The workers treated me and my friend ( both black) with such hostility but when the white customers came in, they were more than welcoming and tended to their every need. I got a manicure and pedicure. The pedicure was rushed and she only scrubbed my feet for 30 seconds, no massage or anything (which I am not used to. I have been getting my nails done since I was 13 and I am now 21). They constantly spoke in their language while rolling their eyes whenever I had a question or request for MY nails that I was paying for. I believe they discriminate against people of a certain color because my friend in I received a complete different treatment than the white people in the salon. I was pleasant and did not want to fit the stereotypical "angry black woman" label but in hindsight, I wish I had. I came here because I had received a gift card for this place at my baby shower. I have never been here before but I was happy to have received a gift card to any nail place. I love getting them done. I am very loyal to a place in Monroe so I didn't have any high expectations whatsoever. So I came in on a Thursday. The place opens at 10, and I was there at 12. It was not busy at all, there were 2 other customers in the entire salon, yet I was still being rushed and all of them were very rude. I'm not talking about language barriers either because I get it, but the customer service is simply nonexistent. The pedicure was disappointing and very quick. I love pedicures right now being 8.5 months pregnant so I was definitely let down. Said it came with a massage but I didn't get it. Then onto my manicure every single one of my nails is ridiculously crooked - maybe because all of the staff was talking and laughing the entire time and she kept taking time to look up and talk and laugh. Not to mention people eating their seaweed out of a bowl right at the front desk with no shoes on, picking their nose, I was literally in disbelief. Some of these things could have been understandable if it was a very busy day, but by the time I left it was me and one other customer - so I'm just going to assume these employees don't care and don't want your business. This salon, Diva Nails & Spa has the absolute WORST customer service ever. I came in with my 98 year old mother in a wheelchair to have a pedicure. We were requesting one of the technicians, Helen, because she is great with my mother. We were told to come back in 1/2 hour and Helen would be available . We left and returned 35 minutes later . When we walked in, the gentleman pointed at the clock on the wall and said "You're late!" I surprisingly said "excuse me?" He again repeated " You're late ". I said " I'm sorry to be 5 minutes late". Is Helen ready?". He said " You're late ". I did not see Helen with another client, but he turned us away from her. He was the rudest person I have ever encountered in retail. I can't tell you how many times we have been told to wait 15-20 minutes and we have waited 30-45 with no apology. DO NOT condone this outrageous customer service. The salon is nothing special , except for Helen, who is great with older people. They do an adequate job, but the treatment is so poor I would not recommend this salon to anyone.
