My daughter went today to get a hair cut. She has VEY curly hair. Thick long curly hair. She wanted a short cut and was told the Prestige stylists could handle curly hair. She showed the girl a picture as an example. And the girl dug in. Everything was going well until my daughter asked her to go shorter. All of a sudden the girl had every excuse. That's not how the picture looks, oh you don't want that, she even told her she had to let her go because she had another client. My kid has had 3 hair cuts all her life. This is the first time she's come home almost In tears. She was SO looking forward to her short cut. She has thick tight beautiful curls. And she is sitting home with a hat on her head. A hat. Her hair cut was 5 hours ago. She is wearing a hat. The picture was for reference NOT law. When you charge a person 70 bucks for a haircut the least you could do is listen. read more

My hairstylist (??) was on phone through out my hair wash, haircut. was talking loudly with someone on phone n stopped only once to ask, do you need layers, another time before ending haircut to tell I got good hair. With my second try with the salon I was paired with Lisa who was amazing. She was knowledgeable, had great interpersonal skills, gentle, all around sweetheart and professional! We discussed beforehand what I was looking for and some of the challenges I experienced with stylist Simone. Lisa had none of those issues and reassured me the entire time that this experience would be much better. She really took the time to make sure I was satisfied with everything from my shampoo, cut, to the end result. She is the kind of stylist that once you go to that you ALWAYS go to. I'm hesitant to even share this because I want to make sure that as her clientele grows that she can still see me :-) She gave me a gorgeous Devacut that I could not be more happy about. She had a similar hair texture and I appreciated that she shared with me her routine. I purchased two of the products from the salon to make sure my curls are defined. The girl has miracle hands and got rid of my God awful hair patches and gave me the highlights I wanted. She did a great job and has earned her spot as my go to stylist. read more

I cried - for 10 minutes, for the first time in my life ever after a bad hairstyle, at Prestige Salon only. Horror story. I went in for basic beach waves hairstyling (aka fairly simple request), and was matched with an elderly woman who barely spoke English and could understand me. Even after I showed her my reference picture, she did everything wrong --- barely washed my scalp, nearly pulled my fine hair off as she aggressively brushed it, spinning a giant brush. She fried the top of my hair with the hairdryer. She positioned giant curls going in instead of out. When I saw myself in the mirror: flat head at top, giant puffy curls going inside towards my face - I looked like I was wearing a wig from 17th century France. I had gone to the salon to get styled for a music video and for my giant birthday party that day... but began tearing up as I was trying to pay. I tried not to cause a scene and insisted on paying asap as my tears weren't stopping and I felt humiliated and just wanted to run out. The manager arrived and took me to the VIP room to fix my hair. The new stylist was kind and improved my hair, and the salon offered me a $10 discount for the trouble caused. I sincerely appreciate their gesture and sympathy. But there are many things wrong with the salon: They hire incompetent people. My mother had a similar experience with a similar cut there. - She asked for a straight cut, and another old lady did a circular cut, while hairdrying her hair sideways instead of straight down. They position the chairs away from the mirror so you can't see the catastrophe that they are working on your head. I don't blame my incompetent hairstylist. I blame the management for hiring incompetent, outdate people, who can't even do the basics and certainly have no business in the beauty industry anymore. The most they can do is short hairstyles for elderly women. But not beauty styles/ coloring/ cuts for women or men. Done, never again. read more

I came to this salon for the first time and decided to get my haircut and glaze over my brassy highlights. I was soooooo happy with my lovely new look! Yesira did EXACTLY what I asked for plus she was so friendly. She gave me beautiful bouncy layers and framed my face. The glaze was perfectly done, my orange highlights turned into a gorgeous caramel brown I couldn't be more happier! My hair is so shiny and soft. Highly recommend! read more

They ruined my daughter's hair. First, she had an appointment at their other salon, Moda, but we got there and after waiting 15 minutes they finally told us that the water wasn't working and we had to go down to Prestige. They could have told us as soon as we walked in, or maybe even called us before the appointment to ask if we minded going to Prestige. We did mind. When we got there, Prestige was packed and our stylist was working on another client. She spoke to us for about 30 seconds regarding what my daughter wanted, then left again. Instead of her usual partial/full highlights, she wanted an all over blonde. After slapping bleach all over her head, even though the ends were already blonde, she was left there almost an hour without being checked on while the stylist worked on yet another client. It was clear to see that her hair was several different shades of blonde under the cap. Again, she asked for an all over color instead of partial/full highlights, she never asked for her whole head to be bleached. After two hours, they finally had rinsed and glazed her hair. It look fried, it looked broken and damaged. It was extremely uneven. The stylist talked about her coming back, which she never mentioned in the beginning may be an option. Then asked if she still wanted her hair cut. We said NO. We said it had already been almost three hours and we were done. She pushed us into doing a little trim and as she was coming my daughter's hair to cut it handfuls of hair was coming out. She cut it so uneven, her hair looked and felt like a used broom. I have been trying for one month to resolve this and have gotten nowhere. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

Went here today to get a hair cut, and was rushed in and out beyond belief by Debbie--who seemed to want only my money and nothing else to do with me! She was pleasant enough, but I encountered immediate issues with her: 1. I came in with a specific style in mind: I wanted a Kris Jenner cut (which is totally possible with my hair length and type.) I showed Debbie the photo, which she immediately dismissed by saying "her hair is straight, your hair is wavy"--which is the MOST asinine thing I have ever heard, considering the not so recent inventions of HAIR straighteners, which I own, and use on the daily. 2. I sat on the wash chair, and she proceeded to take all of a minute (not an exaggeration) to wash my hair, and SHE DID NOT CONDITION IT! 3. Sat on the cut chair; at this point, my friend went to Dunkin' Donuts in the mall to get a coffee. In the time she ordered and came back (five minutes), she was already done with my haircut. Technically speaking, it is almost impossible to finish ANY haircut in five minutes and have done a good job. 4. My friend looked at the back of my head and pointed out that she had not touched any of the bottom at all, and definitely hadn't created the fringe effect I'd asked for--at which point Debbie proceeded to get defensive and argue back that she'd done a fine job. She took a bit off of ONE side of the back, leaving the other side totally untouched. 5. Her cell phone rang at least 5 times during the haircut, and at the very end when I'd asked her to fix the back, she grabbed her cell, and told me that she had to take the phone call because it was from her mother. She proceeded to speak on the phone for a couple of minutes while we waited around to pay HER. She is HORRENDOUS. I've never had a worse experience; I don't even care if it's Haircutters at the Trumbull mall and nobody should expect much from them. I went here as a last resort because I need to have a cut to go to a funeral--my bad and vulnerable mood was another reason that I didn't have the energy nor the desire to point out to this lady that she'd just committed a crime on my head. I went home, and it's pretty obvious that my haircut is not even (especially not on the sideburns and the back)--so now I shall be cutting it myself. I've been here before and loved the people. I've had great staff cut my hair but yesterday was a whole new level of bad. The person I received didn't listen to any of the things I requested and did her own thing. I've been used to looking into the mirror when my hair is cut but I barely could see what was happening to my head. All I asked was for a basic trim. Went in for the first time today as a walk in. The place looked really busy, and the hostess set me up with Ryan, after hardly any wait. Ryan killed it. Most professional, and quick, haircut I've had in a while. We quickly went over what I wanted and Ryan went straight to work. Got an awesome fade, and exactly the cut I wanted. I'll start with this- I drive an hour to come here. Do you know how hard it is to find a quality men's haircut these days? My whole life my hair's just been blah- same style since middle school. Walked out of my first trip to Prestige looking and feeling like a GQ magazine cover, thanks to stylist Mario. The ENTIRE staff knows what they're doing and does it incredibly precise. I've been seeing Rita for over a year and she is incredibly talented, friendly, and remembers me by name. Your favorite stylist not in that day? No worries. Anyone working there will give you a top of the line haircut. So I grabbed her and went to the mall for an unplanned visit with no appointment-expecting the worst and hoping for the best. I went in here for a haircut but just the sides of my hair since i have long curly hair on the top but short sides on the bottom but i just needed them trimmed, they cut it way too short and the space between my all around my ear and my hair is way too large, not to mention that the sideburn doesn't even past the tip of my ear, horrible haircut, and as i look around the salon i see anyone getting haircut gets the same results. Will not be going here again! Horrible experience! Haircut was not at all what I asked for. First off when my hair was being washed it was rushed and water was dripping all over my face. I was not even told but apparently a deep conditioner was slapped on my head and I was quickly thrown under a dryer that was set on hell. No one thought to ask how I was or anything. I had given pictures to my hairdresser and informed her multiple times NOT SHORT! The length I had was past the shoulders. What I walked out with was just below my ears. My hair was completely butchered! Uneven cuts and long strands left for me to figure out what to do with! I blame the hairdresser along with the owner. You can only take a certain amount of clients in. Stop booking endless amounts people who then have to walk out unhappy because of your staff. Staff should be trained properly before they are given scissors!! Owners think about that before you book the clients! read more

Unfortunately I had the displeasure to get my eyebrows done at this very unprofessional salon. An inexperienced and careless woman burned my skin and then had the audacity to get upset when I called her out on it. The manager was not any better, as he was abrasive unapologetic, and disrespectful with me. The refund they provided was the least of my concerns as their inexcusable bad service caused a very painful burn. Please note that I hardly ever write reviews. All the people are nice, it's very clean. If you're looking for an amazing colorist ask for Andres. He fixed my color damaged hair and spent hours on it trying to get it perfect. I left with an amazing ombré and now I only go to him to get my hair dyed. He even helped fix some of the damage from a previous bleach.
