While the surf can be great, be aware of strong localism. You'll likely encounter fisherman, people who've had a bit too much to drink, and a generally protective local vibe. We heard from a local friend that this place was right on the beach and that it was pretty good. Went there on a weekday morning and it was a great experience. The person that took our order was friendly. The food came pretty quickly and it was excellent. I had a breakfast burrito and my wife had a breakfast sandwich. Both were very good and they were definitely less expensive than one would expect in that zip code. We will be back! read more

Extremely pricey. $30 for a "poke bowl" which was just rice and a small portion of tuna. That being said, it is convenient because it is right on the beach so you're paying for service and ambiance, but if you don't mind the walk/drive/bike you can find better food for lots cheaper. read more

A great food truck located within the ditch plains parking lot. Prepare to wait in line around with the rest of the busy lunch crowd. There's only so many people who can work within the truck, so rightfully so it's a tad slow. Burritos, wraps, sandwiches, and salads - as well as candy, drinks, coffee, and ice cream - all available to take and enjoy on the beach. It was a little expensive (~$14) for a burrito that was small, but still a good lunch size. read more

Ditch Witch is an ole favorite for montauk locals and has continued to experience success with tourists. I used to look forward to their breakfast burrito every single year with such anticipation until I discovered it in the frozen aisle at my local supermarket. Nevertheless, cookiing it at home isn't the same. Here you have the atmosphere. Walking down the beach and up to a truck. Surfers cruising in the waves, salty air and sand in your toes. Their coffee is surprisingly great. I got an iced caramel latte ($5) and I thought it was fair price (by MTK standards) and it was really perfectly balanced. Not too milky and not too sugary. Surely beats Dunkin Donuts(why can't DD ever get it right?) I also truly love their sesame noodle salad ($12). You can add grilled chicken on top if you desire. It also, isn't much of a salad, but thats what I like about it. There are a few greens on the side, but its mostly saucy noodles that are slurp worthy. I ate every last bite and I will be back for more! read more

abby, the original ditch witch, is long gone (retired to costa rica) but her son and daughter have taken over. same small-town vibe, same mediocre breakfast burrito BUT the coffee is good and on certain days, the ditch witch is still ABSOLUTELY PERFECT for what you need to start your day on the beach. i wouldn't trade it for anything, though i would like it a wee bit better if they put prices on their menu board. : ) it's always nice to know that the pre-made, microwaved burrito is going to set me back thirteen bucks, for example. also, that breakfast burrito is meat-only - they don't have a vegetarian option for it. come on, it's 2017. finally, keep in mind, if you're not going to spend time on the beach, then there's no reason to come all the way out here, as car parking without a permit is PITA. read more

Best good eats food truck in the best beach in town. Grab your pass or get dropped off. The food and waves can't be beat. Sesame noodle salad, Jamaican beef patties, salads, sammies, homemade iced teas and lemonades, cookies, muffins, poke... Have an iced tea/ lemonade and enjoy watching the surfers. Prices are decent and it beats giving up your parking spot to go into town if you don't live right in Ditch Plains. But make sure you have the right pass in the right lot. read more

Their menu looked pretty delicious from what I could tell, but a friend and I just ended up splitting a cheese quesadilla, which was surprisingly pretty good. This place was adorable. I must admit I only got their iced coffee (one size, $3) but the baked goods and sandwiches looked nice. Staff is super friendly and laid back (realized I didn't have cash, they said to just pay later, no big deal) and I love that they have cheapo items for kids to snack on (blow pops, pretzel rods, etc) -- penny (nickel and dime) candy was my favorite as a kid (felt like i had control over something) and it was adorable to see kids doing the same. Will be frequenting this place as long as I am frequenting Ditch Plains! read more

Great food and service. The ONLY drawback is parking and the outrageous price of the parking ticket... Best bet is to walk or bike.

this place is great!!! we recently stayed at the east deck motel and this little food cart is such a treasure to have just steps away from the beach and motel. i almost ate all of meals from the cart one sunday! the power bar with peanut butter and asian sesame noodles salad was delicious. i especially love that this is family owned business that has been there for decades. can't wait to go back to montauk and the ditch witch! read more

Great, convenient spot for a bite to eat right at the entrance to the ditch plains beach. They have a wide selection of sandwiches, pastries, coffee, etc. The staff is friendly and the food is good, albeit a little pricy for what you get (but not outrageously so). The breakfast burrito is tiny for $4 (I was still hungry after I ate it), but the $7 cubano sandwich is tasty and filling. read more
