District Taco is new to me. I did read reviews before I checked it out and decided I needed to check the place out for myself. This particular location was pretty empty on a Sunday afternoon. There is plenty of parking as it is located in a shopping plaza. When you enter the restaurant there is plenty of seating with a few high top tables. You can place your order at one of the self serve kiosks. I ordered the three tacos where you can choose your own protein. The chicken and chorizo were normal price but there is an up charge for the steak. Overall, the tacos were pretty good. The steak tasted the best. The chips and quacamole were also good. Overall I thought it was good. I just don't know if I would go back to try the other menu items. read more

Kind of an all around bummer. The restaurant is very clean. They have moved to kiosks which can be hard to navigate as they make certain things tough. For example, if you order 3 tacos, all tacos must have the same toppings or you'll have to order them individually. There is little to no veggie option that doesn't cost additional $$. The Coke freestyle machine was flat. Half of the drinks were greyed out. The staff were in dinner rush and couldn't get to it for a while at which point, I returned my drink and went with water for my meal. We did have a strange thing where we got jalapeños as a topping on a quesadilla but it was on the side. read more

Our first visit to District Taco in West Springfield was positive. I remember the Capitol Hill store from some years ago. Ordering is easy at the self-service kiosks. I like the three taco option, for which you can customize your protein, add-ons (we chose the Jefe option here), and sauce. We ordered carry-out and included guacamole and queso sides. At night the ambiance was a very brightly lit space. It's probably better during daylight hours. The food was good and we will be back. read more

Honestly surprised at the low ratings of this place. I had tried District Taco maybe twice in DC and in Falls Church and I would agree that it was nothing special from first impression. But ever since the Springfield location opened, I have been able to go here more frequently and my girlfriend and I enjoy this spot a lot. The food is a good alternative to Chipotle honestly. Ingredients feel more fresh here, however, I will say that the bowls they use are huge so the portions just seem small - and sometimes they can leave for more to be desired. But the flavor usually is satisfying. I personally just get bowls and have tried a quesadilla and it was pretty good. Their fresh made Guacamole everyday is to die for. Best guacamole I've ever had. In terms of ambience, the lighting is a bit much.. the lights are so bright - I'd order takeout or delivery if you are high. But other than that, I usually walk in and order on the kiosk and the nice staff have my order out within 5-10 minutes! read more

It is what it is. Still trying to understand the hype of District Taco. Will say that this is an okay restaurant, but if you've been south of the border, it's nothing extraordinary. Will it work if the munchies hit? Sure as the tacos are fairly tasty, and vegetables/other toppings are fresh. Their sauces leave me disappointed. Taste is subjective, so take that for what it's worth. Very polite and efficient staff. Also high marks on cleanliness. That is an important aspect. It does get loud due to crowds, although I'd compare it to Chipotle. The tables and seating areas should suffice for most. If you're in the area it could work for you. I prefer other chains more, but I hope it does well, and ultimately is successful. read more

No way 2.5 stars. More like at least 4 or maybe higher. My Fish Tacos were really good and didn't fall apart. They loaded them up too and all fresh ingredients. Guacamole was 5 stars and the chips weren't as salty as other competitors. Server was as nice and courteous. Ambiance had some great tunes and clean tables. read more

Whether I'm ordering online, from a kiosk, or face-to-face, I always get exactly what I want within a way more than reasonable time. Doesn't matter how crowded or busy the staff is. Last night I online ordered a build your own salad with barbacoa, the Jefe way with hot salsa and it was waiting for me when I arrived five minutes later. And it was perfect! I've ordered tacos and burritos at this location before and have never been disappointed. Can't recommend highly enough. District Taco has become my 'go to' place for quality. read more

The District Taco I used to know is gone. The Springfield location lighting system blinded me so badly my eyes hurt, my friend loaned me sunglasses. We have a climate crisis and yet thev district taco lighting system is beyond being an irritation - it is a climate disaster. I tried to order my tacos and they insisted that I have to have the same topping ingredients on all three tacos which of my case was cilantro and sour cream. I thought the whole idea of having toppings on tacos was to have a variety of toppings on your three tacos. No not anymore. The tacos were a bloody mess. They messed up our order they don't give out the sauces like they used and the sodas are different. They're terrible, everything is bagged up bagged no matter what even if we're eating inside. The fish taco was a sloppy mess - a horror of a fish made out of Pollock frozen fish squares. My District Tacos days are over. A sad state of affairs for a a proud franchise that was started in the DMV. The corporate bean counters have taken over, and I noticed that the size of the tacos were slim. read more

It is a casual restaurant that offers seating for dine in, but mostly does take out. Lots of high-top tables. You can place an order at the front counter or use one of their kiosks. The staff were friendly, and the service was pretty quick. I ordered the build your own tacos and was disappointed with the cold and salty tacos. I'm not sure if they typically do not warm/heat up their flour or corn tortilla since I haven't tried their other franchise. read more

Love District Taco! So glad we have one In our area. I think the menu has changed since I've been last, but I got the California Burrito and it was amazing. Way better than Chipotle IMO. They up charge the tasteless vegan fake meat mix $1.30 per taco : what happened to the tasty past tofu filling from years ago? Staff not pleasant ; ordering process confusing (sorry I hate ordering off dirty touch screen kiosks I want to order from a human). Asked for guacamole on my tacos and said I pay extra: they charged another $5 for a container of guacamole that was not put on the tacos! We got a breakfast burrito with bacon and chorizo, a breakfast taco with carne asada and pollo asada and a churro. The only descent part of the food was the chorizo and tortilla of the burrito. Everything else lacked quality: the rice was soggy, the chicken was dry, the steak was grey and dry, corn was deflated and dry and the churro had a stale old grease flavor. read more

Been waiting so long for this place to open! I'm so excited to finally have a District Taco in the area. These are by far the best/authentic tacos you'll get. I really like their 3 tacos for $12 deal, it's reasonable and yummy. Big seating area available, they have a lot of workers and the lines seemed to be moving pretty quick. I placed an online order at 7:12 pm and it was ready to be picked up within 10 minutes. My tacos were warm, the toppings were fresh, and the quality was just like every other District Taco. I am highly allergic to cilantro. I asked the order taker before I ordered if this selection had cilantro. I was told no cilantro was in it. I mentioned once again that I was allergic to cilantro when I placed the actual order. It took quite a while to receive our Order only to have it be full of cilantro as well as cold. When I took it back up to question, just to make sure what the green stuff was the clerk told me it was cilantro. The manager was involved now and I believe her name was Nineeith (sp). She told me I ordered it this way which I had not. She in my opinion was expressing ... too bad! She was not very apologetic at all . She in fact seemed just annoyed. She just wanted to see my ticket. At this time now I did ask for my money back and will never go back. Food allergies are serious and someone can be seriously hurt by them. She seemed totally dismissive of that. It was our first time to eat here and was looking forward to it to be totally unimpressed and know we will never be returning! Wanted to try District Taco so we went at 5:30 last Monday. We were surprised to see the parking lot and the restaurant empty at that time. After placing our order at the kiosk, we waited over 10 minutes just for them to start the order. A customer came in to pick up an order and there was a discussion about whether he paid. It took the whole staff to figure out if he paid. Meanwhile, my tacos were sitting on the counter getting soggy and not fully assembled. The worst thing was the employee who was wearing food handling gloves touched everything.....Cash register, pen, counters, phone, sauce bottles, etc. and then PUT HER DIRTY GLOVED HANDS IN THE CONDIMENT TRAYS and added the toppings to my tacos using her hands!! This I'm sure is a health code violation! I wish I canceled the order and demanded a refund. The food was awful. We will never go back. read more

I ordered three fish tacos, jefe's way, on the web, which told me my order would be ready in 10 minutes. As I live 15 minutes away from the store, the order was ready for me when I got there. I took the tacos with me and ate at home. The tacos were very tasty and still warm. The store itself is rather nondescript and very brightly lit, as others have noted. We used to love district taco and were so excited when one opened in Springfield but unfortunately after trying it a few times.. it seems to have changed drastically. Poor quality of meat, the chips are overly salted, all the salsas are bland and worst of all gauc and queso are garbage. No limes either.
