Wall Street Theater - "Just an incredible place to see a show!"

This review is based on my personal experience as a custer of this business on Feb 21, 2025…read more District Music Hall is a fantastic venue for a close-up experience with your favorite cult or cover band. They book comics sometimes too. The place is immaculate. Recent renovations to sound and lighting make it a great choice for top quality perfomances and a fun night out with friends. Most shows are kid friendly too. The staff is pleasant and couteous, and the drinks are only moderately overpriced. Garnishes included free of charge. The Wall Street Theater was renamed District Music Hall in March 2024. I'm betting it will be March 2034 before Yelp updates this listing.

My experiences at the Wall Street Theater in Norwalk, CT…read more Tonight's Liege Lord show was my 3rd trip to the Wall Street Theater total. My first being in 2019 when Liege Lord played last time, everything went fine as far as the show went. The second being in May when Burning Witches played the venue this past year. At this show, the Wall Street Theater wouldn't allow the band to hang out and meet fans in the lobby after their set, but the show itself was a great show regardless of how it treated the band. The reason I mention these previous shows is they let you use your phone to record the band performing at both of these shows. No big deal is what I thought, but not tonight. Why wouldn't a venue allow this in 2022? It's free publicity for both the venue and the band. Just look at youtube, there's a million live performances on there! Which leads me to the unprofessional behavior of a female security member of your venue tonight. At Tonight's Liege Lord show, they take the stage and everything is going good. I start to video the band playing (who had zero problem with this by the way, it is 2022 after all, everyone records everything now). Within 30 seconds, I have a female security member of your team tap me on the shoulder, yell at me and tell me I have to go. I apologized for recording (which is so odd in this day and age for a venue to enforce this) and told her I drove 2 and a half hours from Worcester for this show. She told me she doesn't care, and tells me she's getting her manager. I then have a very nice gentleman come over to me and just asks me to not record. Everything is smoothed over. I wasn't singled out, this same employee did this to everyone. I would be embarrassed to employ this person. If this is the venue's policy about recording, it wasn't listed on the ticket or there wasn't any signs in the venue stating otherwise. Immediately after the set this employee gets rude with everyone and tells them they must leave the venue. Liege Lord had lots of friends and family hang out after the show in the lobby and this same employee was screaming at these people to leave and get out right in front of the band. I found this behavior truly unprofessional, and that behavior ranked pretty low for me over the 25 years or so of going to concerts for myself. The sad thing is the Wall Street Theater is a great venue. The sound is good and you have a great view of the stage from any position in the theater. This venue has tons of potential, is in a good location, has a good amount of parking and is easy to get to. It's unfortunate you have unprofessional employees working for you like this woman. If a band announces a tour, and I have a choice to see that band at another venue instead, I'm going to do that. I don't care how good the sound and view is, if you hire people like that you deserve any complaints or criticism your business gets. The venue not only lies, they support the bad behavior of employees.

The chicken was the highlight, crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and really well seasoned. You can tell it was freshly made. The cornbread was also really good, soft, warm, slightly sweet, and even better with the sorghum honey butter. The mac & cheese was great. it was rich, creamy, and felt homemade in the best way. I'm not usually a fan of cole slaw, and this one was a bit watery, I should have asked if I could swap it out. The desserts were a highlight too, the peach empanada was nice and warm, buttery, paired perfectly with the ice cream and icing, and the banana pudding was smooth, classic, and comforting with the nilla wafer crumble and fresh banana. Even my starter arugula lemon vinaigrette salad was delicious. Service was excellent and attentive, and the ambiance is definitely upscale and stylish. Overall, it's on the pricier side, but that feels expected for the quality and setting.

The dining room at the new location is fantastic. Open and bright. Much better than the older location down by the aquarium, which is now a new Jamaican restaurant. The place was crazy busy for Mother's Day. We arrived early, but the kitchen was instantly overwhelmed. It took over an hour to get our entrees. Not really all so bad since we got to spend extra time with our dear mother, and the food was exceptional when it finally arrived. I recommend going at a time that isn't quite so busy for a better experience.

With gay bars rapidly disappearing across America, Troupe stands out as a vibrant hub in the Fairfield County LGBTQ+ scene. The owners pour their heart and soul into every aspect of the bar including the programming, music, and atmosphere, and it really shows. The bartenders are warm, welcoming, and genuinely seem to love what they do. From drag shows and burlesque performances to seasonal drink specials, themed parties, and go-go shows, there's always something happening. Troupe quickly became my go-to spot after discovering it one week into living in CT and I'm so grateful for its existence. Huge shoutout to Casey and Nicholas for the love and tireless work they put into making Troupe429 what it is today--and of course to Johnny, who mixes the meanest elderflower gin and tonic in town.

Park City Music Hall is a small performance venue and social club that opened in Fairfield,…read moreConnecticut in November 2021. It was founded by husband and wife restaurateurs Rick and Michele Torres. The location on Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport began life as the Acoustic Cafe in 1999. It was a popular spot for the local Bridgeport music scene for over 20 years. It closed down in May 2020 due to the pandemic. The Torres family (who also own Harborview Market) then decided to purchase it and reopened it as Park City Music Hall following a 9-month renovation. The venue features a performance stage, a full bar and a kitchen. The menu features burgers, sandwiches, salads, bowls, tacos, various bar bites, craft beer (on draught and in cans), and craft cocktails. In May 2023, the venue unveiled their backstage annex: a 2500-sq-ft space directly behind the stage that is intended for VIP, GA+, private events and rentals. Since opening, Park City Music Hall has hosted countless nationally touring bands, Grammy winners, living legends, and electrifying up-and-comers. I recently visited Park City Music Hall for the first time. I had a ticket to see the Connecticut debut performance by New Jersey-based Rush tribute band "A Farewell To Kings" (AF2K). I'm a HUGE Rush fan, so I was really excited to see AF2K perform. Park City is primarily a standing room venue, but there is a limited amount of seating which is first come, first served. I arrived a half hour before doors opened, I was the first one in at opening time and I was able to snag the closest table to the stage. From the kitchen, I enjoyed some "Philly Eggrolls" (shaved steak, peppers & onions, mozzarella) along with a "Smash Burger" (cheddar jack, caramelized onion, pickles, shredded lettuce, special sauce) and "Sweet Potato Fries". I washed everything down with a draught pour of New England Brewing's "Fuzzy Baby Ducks" IPA. That meal really hit the spot! By the time the band hit the stage, a good sized crowd had accumulated. The band was terrific!! They played so many classic Rush songs and pulled them off well. As a drummer myself, I really liked the drum kit which was reminiscent of Neil Peart's kit circa 1983. Overall, I had an excellent experience at Park City Music Hall! I would love to visit the venue again, and I would really like to see AF2K perform again!
