Service was good and staff was very kind. Food came out hot but turned lukewarm pretty fast. Overall decor could use some work.

My girlfriend and i dined at this restaurant before a show at the playhouse and had a good time, the service was quick, and our server was very attentive to us as customers. i got the duck confit, my girlfriend the halibut. the duck was practically falling off the bone when it came out, extremely tender. the halibut has a perfect crisp on the bottom while remaining tender. the bread was fresh out the oven. we also got the opera cake for desert which was extremely rich but not overwhelming. my only complaints would be the inside of the restaurant felt a little cramped while at the same time appeared to have a very limited amount of seating. that however does not affect the delicious food and how i felt like the staff wanted to give us a good experience

Lovey upscale Urban vibe. We were almost turned away as they staff for reservations only. We came after CIFF and sat at the bar. Bartender/waitress/hostess was working her tail off and was very pleasant to us. I started with "Down the Yellow Brick Road". Basically a fancy lemon drop martini. Tasty and refreshing but not too sweet. Nicely done! Dinner was the Halibut. A huge plank of delicate white fish served over a risotto with Edamame. Excellent risotto! The fish was tender and flaky, crisp on the edges but perfectly done center. Excellent. This was the one place open by Playhouse Square on a Sunday night. Clean and Efficient. Love the leather placemats. Colorful artwork and clean, crisp decor. Nothing too fussy or frilly give it an edgy modern appeal.

Another fabulous meal at District! The halibut was beyond amazing, the short ribs were fantastic and the calamari and district salad were fresh and wonderful! It never disappoints! Owner Eric is always wonderful and service was everything you would expect. Such a great place!

Quick service. The food was perfectly cooked and great value for what you got. The atmosphere was clean and cute!

    Duck breast

Food was all way undercooked- I had the cod and my mom had the duck breast. We were never brought any bread even though there was a bread board and butters/ dip on the table. I ordered a second cocktail which took 20 min to come out and the waiter said "oh sorry I forgot to go pick it up". Obviously downtown prices for dinner but very subpar and I was excited to try this place. Very disappointing and I won't go back

I really don't get the bad reviews here. My husband and I had reservations at a different restaurant before going to Playhouse Square on a Saturday night. When we went to the other restaurant we walked out, but then ended up at District (it was our first time here). We walked in with every intent of sitting at the bar. The hostess asked us if we wanted a table as they had a last minute cancellation. We jumped on it! Our server was very attentive - our cocktails were absolutely DELICIOUS! I ordered the filet and my husband ordered the flat iron. We had told the server that we were going to a show and she made sure our food came out quickly. Both plates of food were excellent, although mine was better than his (lol). Honestly, I've been to lots of steakhouses and restaurants and order filet often and I think my dinner at District was THE BEST filet I have ever had - EVER! I can't believe I have never been here but I would definitely recommend and definitely be back!!!

Went here last Sunday before a play. We had a reservation and were seated right away. We got there at 5:30 and the play wasn't until 7pm as we should have had plenty of time. The waitress was nice, but a bit frazzled. We ordered our food and got some bread while we waited. I ordered the flat iron and my mom ordered the brisket. After about 25 minutes we were told they were out of the brisket. Not sure why they waited so long to let us know. By the time we finally got our food and ate it was 6:45. The flat iron was good but not great. Didn't have a ton of flavor and salt was needed. My mom's short rib was better. We barely had time to rush to the theater before the show started, and my mom is 81 years old. Very difficult for her to walk that fast. Probably won't return. It was $80 for two people and I just don't think it was worth that much.

Dipping sauces for the bread - delish!

Great service and fun vibe at the bar here on a Friday evening before we headed to Playhouse square for a comedy show. The food is average, that's why the 3 star review. I would give 5 stars for service, from the host to the bartender suggesting wine for us that was off the menu to ensure we got what we were looking for, just superb. The apple butter to spread on the dinner rolls was delicious but that's unfortunately where the good tasting food started and ended. The mussels lacked flavor and were subpar quality, the steak was (for lack of a better word) just weird tasting...would not order again. My husband and I spent a solid five minutes trying to figure out the mystery ingredient in the mashed potatoes...they were fine but again, odd. Cesar salad was solid - can't give too much credit there as I do feel it's difficult to mess up a Cesar. I'd come back for a drink but likely wouldn't spend my money dining here again.

There was just the right ratio of their homemade sauce, which complemented the smokey cheddar very well. 2. Over Dressed Greens -- I truly did not expect this to be one of my favorites of the night! The salad is generously mixed with their homemade white French sauce, and you could really taste the freshness of the vegetables and produce. They pickle their zucchinis, which was such a pleasant surprise because it added a crunchy texture alongside the croutons and the pickled flavor truly elevated the entire salad! 3. Jammy Eggs -- Egg yolks were cooked to perfect consistency and I loved their take on an Asian-fusion style dish with their furikake seasoning, which also gave slight crunchy texture alongside their creamy sauce that gave a hint of spiciness. 4. Szalay's Sweet Corn -- The mix of the cacio e pepe and miso aioli worked really well as the sauce for the sweet corn and gave it a creamy and savory flavor with every bite! All the cocktails we tried were very special and delicious! Their ingredients list includes unique combinations that pleasantly work for the drink. My favorite drink was "Never Too Much" and I don't even like Hennessy like that haha -- it was such a refreshing drink and the peach and lemon flavors truly was perfect for the fall season. As for service, our waitress Tate was incredibly friendly and efficient and gave us complimentary dessert due to a slight water spill during the meal. I can now fully understand the hype of this restaurant and when I come visit again, I will absolutely be back -- no questions asked!

Everything came out in a timely and well-paced manner and our server went above and beyond in providing outstanding midwestern niceness and hospitality, explaining dishes to us, engaging in conversation, answering our questions, and working with the kitchen to make some minor accommodations to the dishes. The prices were also reasonable for the portion sizes. The ambiance is an interesting, funky mix of open piping with an open kitchen concept and artwork with a nod to Cleveland. My wife and I split several dishes and were fine to outstanding; however, I am giving Cordelia four stars because several dishes were way too salty, affecting what otherwise would have been amazing dishes. My wife and I shared the following dishes: Party snacks: One of the two star dishes of the night. The bread was crispy and served as a great vehicle for the dips. The carrot muhammara, farmer's cheese, and jammy eggs were particularly good and the three snacks I would get if I were only ordering three snacks. Blooming Eggplant: The other star dish of the night, besides being unique with Michelin-caliber presentation, the fry was perfect, the sauce was good, the coating was crispy, and the eggplant well-cooked. The lemon brought everything together and provided some welcome acid. A little on the salty side but very good. Cavatelli: The cavatelli were perfectly al dente; unfortunately, the sauce was overwhelming salty and took away from the pasta. Tomatoes a la chaoshou: The tomatoes were in-season and extremely fresh. The sauce was good, if slightly salty. Ohio Green Beans: The green beans were perfectly cooked with some firmness, nicely seared, and presented well. The zhug was quite salty and detracted from the green beans, although the crunch of the pistachio was excellent. Kate's Fish: The lake walleye was fresh and the accompanying sauces were good and provided nice flavor to give body to the fish (although a bit salty). The skin needed to be crispier; overall, an OK dish but nothing distinctive. My wife and I got the dirt 'n worms and the corn ice cream with caramel sauce for dessert. The caramel sauce was good; the corn ice cream was bland and the mousse was average. I would recommend Cordelia for your next special occasion.

Shortly thereafter, a pleasant gentleman by the name of Ihab introduced himself as our server for the evening. He immediately filled our water, identified the various menus at the table, and took our drink orders. A while later our beverages arrived, he answered several questions and explained the evenings specials. I ordered the Grilled Avocado followed by Broiled Oysters "Rocco". I was able to visit in a recent trip to the city and would recommend it to those going for a visit as well. Located in the House of Blues, you'll have to enter through the 4th strewn door and head straight to the back. Most "speakeasies" I have visited in the US are pretty obvious (like someone sitting in a chair, directing you to a set of stairs behind them to enter the "speakeasy"), but with the entrance to this one tucked away behind a place with live music and food, it had more of an authentic feel. The friend with me that night even questioned if we were in the right place as I strolled to the back of the restaurant and walked up to the girl seated at a podium. "Excuse me, but is this the way to the foundation room?" I asked her. She affirmed, and we were soon on our way up an elevator. When we got to the second floor, we were promptly greeted by a host, Julius, who showed us around. The decor is sumptuous, a blend of Moroccan, Indian, and Jacobean flair. After checking out a room with relics from an Indian temple and looking at the rooftop (with an Instagram-worthy floral wall), we decided to grab a cozy spot near the bar and ordered a drink. As we sipped on our Old Fashioneds, Julius came by to check on us, and we watched the place fill up with an array of people in a festive mood. It was a lovely way to end a night in Cleveland, and a place I highly recommend that you check out when you're in the area!

The restaurant was 0.30 miles away from my hotel, which made it the perfect stop during my morning walk before checking out of the hotel. This restaurant happens to be situated within Public Square. I stopped in to see what was offered, hoping that I could find something vegetarian-friendly. It took me a while to look through the menu, and the employee even offered to make alterations to the featured items after my mention of being vegetarian. Other than the smoothies, the one item on the menu that caught my eye was the Greek Freak, which is what I ordered. Very intriguing decoration which I admired while my order was being prepared. The designs and features I enjoyed were the back wall featuring a geometric design highlighted by vibrant green moss triangles and the signature REBoL vertical text signage off to the left side of the restaurant. There was also distinctive geometric grid pattern crafted from wooden dowels running across the ceiling structure, which was hard to ignore. The wall graphic located in the background off to the right side of the counter depicted an illustrated portrait of the late Apple co-founder Steve Jobs, positioned next to his famous quote, "Stay Hungry. Stay Foolish." I learned that the quote was originally from the Whole Earth Catalog and was popularized by Steve Jobs during his 2005 Stanford University commencement address. The mural also featured a stylized, colorful pop-art illustration of Jobs alongside other notable cultural figures. The dining area had clean, polished concrete flooring. The seating featured high-top wooden tables paired with matte black metal bar stools. Once my order was ready, I spoke with the employee about the decorations and some of the cookies he was about to label. I mentioned my interest in possibly purchasing one during my next trip to Cleveland, which will likely be in a couple of months to visit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum. Okay, I loved the presentation of the "Greek Freak," which was served on a brioche bun and literally had egg bursting out of it. Other visual toppings were cucumber, red onion, and goat cheese crema. I did enjoy the sandwich, but next time I would likely put the goat cheese crema on the side or likely do without it. If you are undecided on what to order at this restaurant and are vegetarian, I do recommend it or possibly some of their smoothies. Because I had a great ordering experience, I would definitely order from REBOL again--whether for Uber Eats delivery or takeout--whenever I visit Cleveland. The floors were extremely sticky--every step literally felt like my shoes were pulling off the ground. It didn't feel clean at all. As I got closer to the restroom area, there was a strong smell of what I can only describe as wet, moldy rags. The bathroom itself was dark, oddly designed, and just gave an overall uncomfortable vibe. What made it worse is that the place wasn't even busy--there was only one table and a couple people at the bar. So the lack of service and cleanliness really stood out. By the time I walked back to the bar, I had already made up my mind. No one had still acknowledged me, and based on the condition of the place, I wasn't willing to take a chance on the food. I grabbed my things and left. Later on, I mentioned it at another restaurant and was told this place is known for poor food quality and lack of authenticity--which honestly aligned with what I experienced just from being inside. I can't speak on the food since I didn't stay, but based on cleanliness, smell, and service alone, I would not recommend this spot. It gave the impression that basic upkeep isn't a priority, and that's not something I'm willing to overlook.
