DTLA pastrami burger. $15 with fries.
    Tony H.

I got to try District Burger while they were at Brewyard Brewery in Glendale. The DTLA pastrami burger was excellent, and they make some pretty good fries. Fair to decent price for a food truck. I'd definitely be a returning customer if I came across them again.

Tried out District Burger when it came to the Grand Park "Olive Court" on a weekday at lunch time. Of the 3-4 trucks out, it had the most people around it (maybe 5) and was one I hadn't seen before so I decided to check it out. I was going to go with the normal burger but the "East Los Fries" caught my eye, as I had lived in San Diego for four years and had many many helpings of Carne Asada Fries so wanted to try it out. The fries themselves are pretty ho-hum, neither skinny shoe string, nor thick cut steak fries, just run of the mill, fast-food-esque fries, a little dried and overcooked on top, a little soggy on the bottm. The carne asada looked almost like ground taco meat as opposed to chunks, and didn't have too much flavor, just a bit of texture, and was either a bit gritty or way too chewy. The pico de gallo though was pretty good, with some nice colors and crisp flavor variations to play against the sort of nauseating background of greasy meat and deep-fried potatoes. I appreciated the freshness of the cilantro and the redness of the tomatoes. Lastly, I couldn't really see or taste much of the salsa verde, although if you're going to be selling something like "East Los Fries," it probably would have been nice to have a bit of salsa or hot sauce someplace along with the jug of provided ketchup so we could spice it up as we needed to. As it was, the chipotle aioli was enough of a kick, more salsa verde would've given it a bit more breadth in flavor. Like most Carne Asada Fries, i felt pretty sick of it half way through, though the first two or three forkfuls were pretty tasty. So, all in all, a fairly typical take on carne asada fries that i'd give somewhere between 2 and 3 stars to. Would I have it again? Probably not. Do I particularly regret ordering it? Not particularly. It was just "meh."

To rare for me. Compton burger

Food was good in flavor, patties are still red inside, which is a no for me. I had to airfry it a bit to make it well. Sweet potato fries are gooood!

Plain Cheeseburger..... might just be one of the best ones I've had.

Ordered the most plain cheeseburger on deck for the little one as she was hungry. She didn't eat it probably because all she wanted were the fries but the wife and I enjoyed the burger so much. A lot of flavor packed in the patty and they're not stingy with the beef and bun. Very good all around. Others ordered specialty burgers and they looked good. I highly recommend.

Love this truck! Burgers are great and the people are as well. My mom was visiting LA a few weeks ago and she'd never been to a food truck. We asked for a recommendation for her that wasn't too spicy (cuz we're both wimps in terms of spice). They not only answered our questions and recommended an option but also let us try the sauce to confirm the sweet/spicy of the bbq sauce. Further, they split the meal in half for us (perhaps more doable as it was near the end of lunch hours). It was just an all-around good experience. I happened upon the same truck downtown yesterday and decided to visit again. I mentioned to the gentleman that my mother had really enjoyed the burger. While I wouldn't have been surprised has he not remembered us, he actually recalled her; mentioning the location we were for the visit. I just think that's pretty awesome. In summary- tasty burgers and great service.

Had the 626 burger, sauce was great and the burger was cooked perfectly. Definitely recommend to go here.

Warning their burgers are served rare if you do not ask for well. Too rare for me.

Forgot my lunch so I decided to go to the food truck the building provides. Today it was District Burger. I selected the Bel Air burger from their menu. Their description: Truffle garlic aioli, fancy mixed greens, bacon marmalade, tomatoes, saint Andre's triple cream. I wish I had taken a before pic because it was beautiful before I bit into it. The flavors were there but the meat was way to under cooked!! Practically raw!! Rare steak maybe, but rare burgers-NO! If they cook their burgers rare they should inform you at the time they take the order. $10 for over rare burger $4 for plain fries Next time I will definitely pass on District Burger.

I've been here a grand total of twice…read more My first experience was problem free. Kudos. The second visit "could've been better" (which Yelp suggests that a 2 star rating would be appropriate to indicate): we placed quite a simple order - 2x Strawberry Sundaes. We took our number placard (#52) and sat at a table to await our order. After patiently waiting what I would estimate to be approximately 15-20 minutes and seeing quite a few other people served their orders, I did find it odd that it was taking so long to prepare 2x sundaes, so I located the young man who took our order and politely inquired about it. He looked a bit confused, exchanged some unintelligible words one of the guys on the grill, and then looked back at me and said it was not our turn yet (or something to that effect). Okay, fair enough. Maybe there were many orders ahead of us. I took it in good stride and went back to my table. After waiting approximately another 15-20 minutes and seeing that *Order #70* was being given their food, I realized that there was a problem and went back up to the ordering counter. I ended up talking with an old man (who I presume is the owner/manager). I explained the situation, and he inquired who had taken our order. I looked around, and the young man appeared to be nowhere in sight, but I did mention it was he who had had taken our order. The old man apologized and assured us he would take care of our order right away. Sure enough, I saw him beeline to the ice cream machine to start our sundaes, and he delivered them to us within 2-3 minutes. He apologized a second time, stating that it was the young man's 2nd day on the job, and that he otherwise would not have forgiven the transgression. In my experience, the resolution to the absurd wait could have been handled worse (in theory, the old man could certainly have told us to pound sand rather than apologizing and immediately attempting to correct the problem and quickly getting our desserts after being made aware of his employee's failure), but also could have been handled better (comping us for the trivial cost of the sundaes as a remedy/cure would have more effectively salved our irritation from the unnecessary waste of 30+ minutes of our life, and would have been in-line with remedial efforts I have experienced at other eateries, including similar fast food/burger joints). All that said, the sundaes were quite good. They would undoubtedly have tasted better had they been served in a time frame reasonable enough to not spoil the mood. I get that this is not a fine dining restaurant of any sort, but I still expect staff competence to be no worse than that of a McDonald's baseline level. I also get that humans make mistakes, but ... how did a simple order of 2x sundaes get botched this badly, particularly after a good faith attempt to bring the matter to staff's attention??

WOOOOHOOOOO a wonderful experience!…read more Alright firstly is the food great, yes! It's a fast-food drive-in burger joint okay so let's talk about it. When I walked last night 15 minutes before close, no one was trying to rush me out and still asked if I wanted to eat there. This was delightful because usually people are completely poops about it. I wish I knew the young man's name who was the cashier he was so kind, outgoing, and just overall super bubbly and friendly. My had a small baby and I went in first to order and then went outside to trade with my husband so he could use the restroom as we waited for our to-go order. Without me sharing any thoughts with my husband the first thing he said when he got back is how supremely friendly the young man was and how he swears his attitude was contagious because he came out with a smile on his face. The food itself as mentioned was great. We took advantage on the specials for the double cheeseburger and the chicken sandwich. I know people will debate it, but I enjoyed the well seasoned and tasty breaded sandwich much more than In-n-out. The chicken sandwich tasted so high-quaity in comparasion to most fast food sandwiches I've ever had and priced so affordably. The entire resturant and the restroom were impicaly clean, the defintion of "sparkling clean". This location really has it together and the chose the right person to be in the front dealing with their customers. Truly a wonderful experience!

Parking: Street parking was super easy on a Sunday afternoon, I was able to pull up right in front and park on the street. There is a Super A across the street and ample parking around for free. Ambiance & Food: This reminds me of an old school burger stand. Those were the best burgers and this one did not stop that trend. As I walked up, we were warmly greeted and given a quick rundown of what which burger. They did have specials (I will get to that in a second) which we were intrigued, but for the sake of perspective, I ordered the Goldburger and both regular fries and curly fries with a bottle coke. The Goldburger is naturally a double, but my gymrat protein brain added that extra patty. They use a 70% to 30% mixture for their burger which makes the burger oh so decadent. The picture I took doesn't do it justice. The moment you bite into the burger the combination of burger juice, aioli, burnt skirt, all come together in such a harmonious fashion. It was remarkable. Though fries are not one of my strong points, both fries were crispy and I haven't had any other experience with Curly fries other than Jack in the Box, but these were so much better. I went ahead and dipped the fries in some homemade Aioli and dang, what a combo! Back to those specials, the current special is CHILI, I was intrigued so they gave me a small container of it to try. Man, if I wasn't watching my caloric intake, that would have been the move. It was rich and chunky and not to soggy which some always comes. Give it a try as they said it will be around for sometime. Other than burgers, they do have hot dogs as well. So worth trying both next time. To be perfectly honest, this brought back so much nostalgia for me, I used to go to school in the area and this brought a lot of those memories back. Food - 7/10 Tops Special Burger - 6.5/10 Honestly, the burger was just okay. The presentation was nice, but everything else was pretty average. The pastrami had good flavor, although some pieces were oddly chewy. The beef patty also tasted like it had been frozen, which kind of just took away from the burger. Chili Cheese Tots - 7.5/10 The tater tots themselves were great, they were perfectly crisp and cooked well, but, the chili cheese was a bit underwhelming, since I could barely taste the chili.
