Went here before the Wizards game to grab some drinks and food. The place was super busy but we were seated right away and had great service the entire time. We enjoyed the happy hour nachos and the happy hour burger (comes with fries). Both were only $10 each and were really yum! Definitely a great deal! They have plenty of drinks to choose from and it's just steps away from Cap One arena! They also have a ton of TVs so it would be a good spot to watch sports. I would definitely go back here pre-game/concert.

This place is located in Chinatown, inside the building that houses Regal theater & a side entrance to Capital One Arena (just passed Clyde's Restaurant). Chinatown metro is a block away. The pub serves sandwiches, fries and burgers. It was reworked after the previous restaurant closed. This is a perfect spot to visit before or after seeing a movie. (If you want a more upscale date, visit Clyde's) The space is also used for events. There is a dance floor, tables for board games and video games.

District Bites is located adjacent to District E, which is a gaming center. A friend and I stopped by for a later lunch, as she had run into some of the employees doing some marketing and saw some carry-out orders on their so-called famous crab cakes. We were seated promptly, and although we requested a booth, we were led to one of their high-tops; the chairs weren't the most comfortable, and the table itself was wobbly, which was a bit annoying having to deal with throughout our dining experience. We ordered: +the Esports Nachos Grande - these were described as flash-fried corn tortillas topped with queso poblano sauce, pico de gallo, shaved jalapenos, pickled red onions, pinto beans, and a cilantro lime creme; there was an option to add chicken ropa, which we didn't go for; the tortilla chips were good, along with the queso poblano sauce and the pinto beans; the toppings could have been more generous, such as the pinto beans and the lime creme; 'shaved jalapenos' were just thick jalapeno slices, but I felt that pickled versions would have been much better; didn't know there was going to be a huge mound of micro cilantro, so that was off-putting; the portions were easily shareable between 2 people +the Eastern Shore Crab Cake - served with remoulade, leaf lettuce, sliced tomato, and a brioche bun, with a side of shoestring fries; the crab cake was not that great - it had to many shells, meaning it was not picked well; it also had a slight 'fishy' odor and taste to it and served at room temperature, which was a little gross; it also seemed to contain more filler than I'm used to; the remoulade sauce, which is made in house, was okay, but didn't add much to the crab cake; the shoe strings were a bit 'limpy' +a Cider Brine & Applewood Smoked Turkey BLT - Nueske's slab bacon, green leaf lettuce, tomatoes, and a black pepper mayo between sourdough slices; my friend didn't really enjoy this, as she stated it was a letdown, considering the description of the sandwich Service was friendly, but there could have been more check-ins, especially to share about the food as well as to get refills and the check. The place seemed to get a steady flow of fans who were in the area for a game, and the location was actually really nice, as you enter into an enclosed atrium at Gallery Place. Garage parking available. +wobbly tables +shell-filled, lukewarm crab cakes +limpy fries +friendly service +garage parking in the area

Located inside gallery place. Food-I came during happy hour and the burger and fries was well seasoned and good portion size. Service- everyone I interacted with was friendly and helpful. Special shoutout to Alexis(bartender) for providing food/drink suggestions and taking great care of me. Vibes- it's a very pregame/concert space. Well lit. Lots of different seating-booths, tables, high tops, bar, and communal tables. Can definitely get crowded so be flexible.

Came here twice lately before Capitals games, once for just drinks and another time for dinner. They have good happy hour drink and food specials. The first time we had a beer and cocktail and last time we had two beers, nachos, and chicken wings as part of the happy hour menu and then a mushroom Detroit style pizza and a rockfish sandwich on the dinner menu. Our server was wonderful and the food was quite good too. A lot of good options but this is a good new choice before a game or just to meet for food and/or drinks downtown.

Ate here quick before the wizards vs knicks game. Our waitress was very nice and attentive. The Long Island was strong and she kept asking if it was ok, for me it was because k did want a buzz. She said she gets a lot of complaints of it being strong. The nachos we waited awhile for it. Which unsure why because it was literally nachos, cheese and pinto beans...that's it. I would come here again if we are watching a game.

Deliciousness - 3/5 Happiness -5/5…read more This place is for drinkers as it has no food, so if you want to lift an ale (and go out for dinner before or after, or bring food in with you), this is the place to be. They have a large beer, wine, and liquor list (although not nearly as many English beers as I expected from a place called Crown & Crow). I won't deny that I wasn't a fan of either of the mixed cocktails I had, with both (including strangely a smoky drink) being too sweet. But the beer was expertly poured and the wine was a very generous serving. The prices are also more than reasonable, which is great for a DC bar. But what really elevates this place is the service. By late night, the place was jam packed. But each and every bartender was extremely friendly and they expertly worked the crowd, getting drinks served quickly (which too few places manage to do) and swiftly clearing off tables of dirty glasses. I also greatly appreciated the free goldfish that they happily dole out to the patrons. The staff made this a really good time.

The bartender in that area was friendly, but unhelpful, directing us to use the front room's bartender, even though she wasn't busy when we approached and asked for a couple of drinks. The bartender in the main room was great, he was very friendly and once he started a tab for me he said I could use the other bar too, I guess he wasn't aware the bartender at that other bar already told me she wouldn't help me. Regardless, the drinks we had were decent. For small bites, they only had gold fish crackers, I wish they would have had more to nosh on while drinking. Overall, not a bad visit.

This location is in the heart of the city so even if you care to walk around the city at the end of beginning of your trip to S&S, you're in a good mobile area! Other eatery and entertaining spots are all within walking disance. Parking to address, was bad. There are SOME parking lots in the surrounding areas but verrrry minimal, so I would advise Uber'ing in or carpooling with friends. My party of 3 were lucky to have gotten a spot right outside of the entrance. Sidebar, because the Super Bowl and other sports are in rotation now, I would 100000% advise parties over 2 to make a reservation, as its the most helpful to guarantee a spot. See Open Table for reservations - that was where our plans were arranged. See attached pictures for the food we ate and enjoyed - the wings (mine were mumbo and buffalo), fries, and crab dip.

My friend hosted a happy hour there, and I love when events like that introduce you to new spots. The drink specials were honestly amazing with $6 drinks, which is hard to beat. The food specials ended at 7 while the drink specials continued until 8, so I was a little bummed to miss out on that. One thing to note if you're ordering food, the four cheese pizza comes with burrata, which I didn't realize ahead of time. I'd definitely come back to try more of the food, especially the flatbreads since they seem to have a lot of good options. That said, I don't think the staff was fully prepared for the size of our group. My friend brought around 60 people on a Friday night, and it was clear the servers were overwhelmed. At times, it took over 10 minutes just to place an order. I don't necessarily think that's the norm, so I'd be open to coming back during a regular happy hour to get a better feel for the service. Great size bar as well.

They are happy to recommend beer for your taste, and let you sample. It can be very busy and difficult to get a seat at the bar or get a table on a Friday or Saturday evening. I visited as part of the full experience -- dinner downstairs at Birch & Barley, then up to Churchkey for drinks -- and honestly, it's one of the best evenings I've had in DC. Churchkey itself is everything a great bar should be. The beer selection is absolutely unreal -- hundreds of carefully curated labels spanning every style, region, and flavor profile you can imagine. What sets it apart is that the staff actually knows the menu. Our server walked us through a few options based on what we liked and landed us on perfect picks both times. That kind of genuine expertise is rare. The tavern pizzas from the wood-fired oven were a wonderful surprise -- thin, crispy, and the perfect companion to a cold draft. The smash burger also deserves a mention: simple, well-executed, and hits the spot. The vibe is warm and lively without being overwhelming. Great for a date, a group, or even just sitting at the bar solo with a good beer and good conversation with the bartender. This place has earned its reputation as one of the best beer bars on the East Coast -- and then some. Highly recommend making a full night of it with both floors. You won't regret it.
