He came to give me an estimate on Saturday and spent five hours on Sunday cleaning up our entire garden. He came back to edge and mulch the garden, front and side yards. Tim toured the site with me, listened to my vision, and, genuinely, provided a very 'human' sense of understanding to a man who was heated about what the neighbor had done. I knew that a fence was the best way to address the 'gaping wound'--and Tim's empathetic demeanor helped me to relax and look toward a positive resolve. I was doubly encouraged that HE sensed the urgency and made the project a priority. This morning (just a couple days later) David and Austin arrived with the supplies to put up a 20-foot length of privacy fence. I felt like it mattered to these guys that I not only had a fence but that I had the integrity of that portion of my yard restored. They worked expediently and with integrity, discussing my concerns and stewarding them thoughtfully. It was evident they understood the stress the neighbor had caused and were invested in helping me restore peace to the situation. I wish I could say I had a positive experience, but unfortunately, I feel compelled to share what happened. If you are considering hiring this company, please read this before you do. Read the language from the signed proposal: The scope of work states: Removal of all plant material that is not a pine tree from the back tree line, roughly 8 feet deep. Plant material includes: Vines growing in the trees All other small material growing in and around the line of pine trees Leave trees 2" caliper or larger in the specified area to the left of the pine tree row. Remove all other material in the specified area. None of the materials were removed. Here is what happened after I raised the issue I notified the company representative on the day of service, June 18, that the work had not been completed as outlined in the contract. June 30: Received a text saying someone would come out to inspect the work. No one showed. July 8: Sent a follow-up text. No response. July 13: Sent another text. No response. July 20: Sent another text. No response. July 28: Finally received a response saying I would receive a call. No call. August 8: Received a text stating that, according to the contract, the area beyond the yard was not included in the scope of work. I then called the office on August 10 and asked to speak with a manager. I received a call from someone new who said he would come out to inspect the work. He never came out. And then came August 12. I received an email reiterating the language of the contract quoted above. I questioned how the completed work matched that language. The matter was then forwarded to the owner, who was apparently out of town. Rather than sending someone to inspect the work or addressing my concerns, I received a threatening email demanding payment by 5:00 PM today or stating that they would place a mechanic's lien on my property. So, after nearly two months of trying to get someone to simply come out and look at the work (pay the bill), this is how the situation is being handled? THIS IS HOW YOU RUN A BUSINESS? I am sharing this experience because I believe customers should know exactly what they may be dealing with before hiring this company. Read the contract language. Look at the photos.
