Over the years they have done winterization and inevitably the back-flow explodes over the winter and needs to be replaced. Obviously the system wasn't winterized properly. They were never bad enough to look elsewhere and convenient enough, so I let it go. This past winterization trip I could tell that the technician had missed several zones as my phone alerts me in real time as to when a zone runs. When I went to talk to the tech and mention he had missed a few zones, he started slamming things in his truck. He was angry with me - why would I have zones disabled!? The order was for five zones?! That zone doesn't show up on my phone!!! I was aghast. Huffing, puffing and slamming the air hose around, the tech reconnected and blew out much of the same zones again yet not some of the ones I mentioned he missed. Later the tech texted me that he isn't "usually short" and apologized. Thanks, I guess. I immediately emailed the main office and their response was to get me scheduled two weeks out to have it redone by another tech. No apology. No explanation. No back pedaling. No mention of having addressed it with the employee. I told them to forget it and I would look elsewhere. At that point I got an apology for the "miscommunication". There was no miscommunication. Their technician was simply out of control and over the line over nothing. There are so many irrigation companies, it's not worth the heartburn to deal with whatever is going on here.

Otherwise, our experience was overwhelmingly subpar for the investment. We asked for a simple front yard landscaping revamp. There were more misses than wins with the overall delivery: 1) Design proposal took longer than quoted (no big deal, I know they're busy), and was missing a key part we originally asked for (and got an "oops sorry, here's a haphazard fix"). Design still lacked some our accessory asks, but we decided to disregard those anyway. I feel as though our vision wasn't heard and believe me, I am an over-communicator. Maybe budget was an unspoken obstacle? But if so, it should have been communicated - we were flexible! 2) The install day was never scheduled, and the install team showed up unannounced without designer oversight as promised. Luckily I was able to arrange to stay home for the install. 3) We were charged for new plants, that we didn't receive. Instead they "transplanted" our dead plants that looked awful (these were the reason we were investing in new landscaping altogether). 4) Old random foliage and plants were left in our landscape (likely with intention, because they planted the new around them which threw off spacing). 5) Some plants did not take and remained weed-y, even with frequent and appropriate watering. When addressed, we were told we were not watering enough... doubt it, but ok. See photos. I'm shocked they thought this was acceptable, and didn't ask how to handle if there was question at the time of install. We ended up needing to replant about half of the overall work ourselves. Old plant concerns were remedied on our invoice, and follow-up communication was prompt from the designer at least. Won't re-engage.

This was the most stress-free home contracting experience I've ever had. Austin was considerate, reliable, and trustworthy. He navigated an electric dog fence and irrigation system without damaging either and buried the pipe underneath the irrigation lines in case the lines ever need repaired. He also had to install pipe underneath a sidewalk. He hand-cut the sod and replaced it with minimal impact to the lawn. All photos were taken right after the job was completed. The area looked great right after. I highly recommend Austin and his company. He is a diamond among home contractors. I couldn't be happier with the entire experience.

The first step was turning on the water. Ours is located in a utility closet off the laundry room as we have no basement. The technician could not locate the turn on and kept saying she found most turn on valves in the basement. We have no basement. The technician was promptly out of the house and did not acknowledge me calling after her to ask if there was anything I needed to do. I called the office and received no sympathy or apology for the problem. They need a course in customer service. The earliest they had was 18 days away. Both the owner and individual I spoke with first had no interest in trying to work me in sooner. The owner came across to me as irritated by my call. On top of all this they sent me a bill almost immediately after the technician left. They have also sent me a reminder, but say they have canceled the bill. They were great as AK Irrigation.

During our first summer in our home there were a couple areas where the spray heads weren't quite reaching some far corners of the lawn. After contacting Brad (who has been phenomenal), the crew was quick to come out and make the adjustments to the spray heads. We have had Polaris Irrigation come out to winterize our system annually and turn it back on in the spring and they have always been responsive and prompt. Most recently we had some underground repair work done in our yard by our home builder this December and in the process the irrigation power line was damaged. I contacted Polaris Irrigation, and as usual, they were quick to respond to my needs and quick to get out here to fix the issue caused by someone else. I would highly recommend Polaris Irrigation as we continue to use them for our own irrigation needs.
