We were lucky to get a walk in table around 12:30 on a Monday. Service was quick and competent. We shared an order of veggie pakora that was good, not great, with some lovely flavored sauces. We then shared Ruby Red chicken, green veggies and cucumber salad, as well as both garlic and cheese nan. All was delicious.
Dishoom was alright - good, solid food, but nothing special. We were excited to try it because we missed the opportunity to do so in London. It's definitely overhyped, but we enjoyed our meal. I just wished we didn't spend one of our precious meals in Europe here. We started with their chai. It's famous, but quite small and also not my cup of tea. Their chicken ruby was good, tastes like butter chicken with a bit more tomato? There's Edinburgh special was my favorite item here. The lamb was tender and perfectly spicy. The potato on top didn't do anything for the dish though. Overall, it was fine. If you traveled to Edinburgh, don't spend a meal here. You can get food on par to this almost anywhere. The ambience was fun and loud and crowded so if that's your thing, this is the place.
We had heard about Dishoom before we had arrived in the UK, and it did not disappoint! There was a long wait when we arrived, but they were offering chai samples to people in line, and within minutes we were inside at the waiting area where we had a drink and met some friendly people. The food was worth the wait; absolutely delicious!
We literally came here twice on our one week vacation. It was the best meal of the trip. Amazing, I have no words. Worth the wait, lives up to the hype, just go, you won't regret it. Might be best Indian meal I have ever had. We had "non-Indian food eaters" (super picky) and they found things they loved.
Second Dishoom location visited (first outside of England) and just as mind-blowing. Tried some different stuff this time; their take on the "British breakfast" is done so well. The akuri eggs are amazingly spiced, the beans are slightly sweet in a delicious way, and the bread is flavored well. The porridge, as always, is flavored with the perfect amount of sweetness. Can't wait until they open a location in New York! Walked in easily Wednesday 11 AM, but it was pretty busy by the time we left!
There was a 90 minute wait on a weeknight in June and one person had to stay in waiting the whole time. They were very precise about the wait time and even gave a modification of 10 minutes to an earlier stated wait time, which was amusing. They did offer chai and mint tea while we were waiting -- much appreciated! The restaurant inside is extremely extremely dim -- probably my only gripe with the restaurant! We were shining our phone flashlights to read the menu -- that's the level of dim I am talking about. Fresh nimbu soda was very simple but refreshing. Vada pav was delicious, though a tad spicy for my taste. Tandoori Chaat as well. The Murgh Malai Tikka was melting in the mouth and the Bombay potatoes that came with it were delicious too. Chicken biryani and chicken kathi rolls were ok (though the chicken in both was again beautifully cooked). The corn on the cob was also grilled to perfection. Be aware that portion sizes were small. Ended with Malai kulfi and a Kala Khatta dessert with mascarpone cream which was the most imaginative dessert I have had at an Indian restaurant. Totally worth the wait.
I was so ecstatic to see there is a Dishoom location in Edinburgh. It's been on my list for when I visit London. We were in Edinburgh for two days and we went both days. We were able to walk in for two around 3pm the first day and the second day, we waited an hour and forty minutes around 7pm. They provided us chai/limbu pani while we waited. The team is a well oiled machine, I mean they got it down to a perfect system. I love all the black/white ads and newspaper clippings and pictures on the walls. Take a few minutes to read them and you'll learn so much. The owner is from Sylhet, Bangladesh; he has a well decorated resume. The food is Bombay style! Day 1: Chilli Butter Bhutta 2/5 - corn on the cob chowpatty style, corn was undercooked Salli Boti 5/5 - braised lamb, more of a hybrid cultured dish, pretty solid and served with roomali roti which is very light and authentic (it's not naan) Murgh Malai 5/5 - tender, pieces are big House Black daal 5/5 - highly recommend, cooked for hours, the lentils hold shape visually but don't have a bite to it Chicken biryani 5/5 - topped with dried cranberries...say less, plenty of chicken pieces, this biryani was perfect. Kala Khatta shorbot 5/5 - not overly sweet, definitely gives a taste of the region Chai 5/5 - no comment except I could drink 2 gallons. Day 2: Okra fries 5/5 - great snack, not too oily, somehow the breading stays intact even though okra has water, maybe they use dehydrated okras Up to date pau bhaji 3/5 - a bit heavy, nothing special about the bread Malia Paneer 4/5 - good portion, firm paneer Mutton Pepper Fry 3/5 - this is wet based, it's under Ruby Murray who was a singer and later coined Ruby Murray Curry for rhyming purposes, they gave a lot of meat but nothing special about the fish Goan Monkfish Curry 5/5 - creamy, decadent! We packed some to bring back to the states. Kala Khatta With Nice Cream 5/5 - "To the uninitiated, the first spoonful may surprise. The second is captivating." this is exactly what my experience was, get ready to be blown away!
Hands down the best lunch I have ever had. My wife and I came for lunch because this place book up way in advance. Must have a reservation. Cool restaurant with food unlike anything I have had before. Indian inspired flavors but with such complexity it was amazing. Had the chili chicken, Monkfish curry, Chili broccoli salad half, Cole puri halwa, and Murgh Malai. The monkfish green curry was my favorite. Also had a tamarind margarita that was delicious. Ambience is fun but very nice. Best lunch I had in Scotland.
The reviews for this Indian restaurant set a high expectation. As we were visiting on a Saturday, I made a reservation, I'm glad I did as they were booked for the night. The seating area is downstairs, low lite, romantic, and smelling of delicious spices. The service was excellent. I grew up eating Indian food, but my friend did not, and our server was apt at explaining their menu. They have several cocktails they have put their twist on. We started with papadum with three chutneys. All were excellent. My friend and I shared garlic naan, monkfish curry, grilled greens, and their gunfire potatoes. Everything was amazing, perfectly seasoned and portioned. While we were full, we still ended up sharing dessert, completely worth it. This was my favorite meal we had in Scotland. I highly recommend reservations!
2025 February: they take reservations for dinner which is very recommended. Me in 2018 visiting London: everyone said I had to go to Dishoom, so I went twice on my trip. Me in 2025 visiting Edinburgh: everyone said I had to go to Dishoom, so I went on my trip (would recommend making a reservation.) Service is very good and helpful--I was going to get 1 beer and they told me to get another one (a local one that was insanely good.). Food is delicious, prices are very reasonable. Ambiance is dim light, very date-y though families and girlfriends and work people also fill the place. We loved the Broccoli salad, garlic naan, monk fish, and Edinburgh lamb special. I'll be dreaming about the monkfish.
I'm going to be up front and say it, I might only be 50% Indian, but I am 100% certain Dishoom is the best Indian restaurant in the world. This is my first time in Scotland and thus far the food does wonders for the palate. I didn't get any photos since we absolutely inhaled the food, but we ordered the papad, Pav Bhaji, chicken tikka, pepper mutton, daal makhani, and a whole mess of other dishes. The meal closed with the kneer for dessert. I had the Dishoom ipa, and would certainly recommend it. After dinner drink was the Dishoom old fashioned, because whiskey and dates is a match made in heaven. This room is a gorgeous spot to get some incredibly delicious food. For everyone interested in eating some damn good food, I recommend Dishoom.
A fabulous dining experience in the heart of beautiful Edinburgh. We were a party of 7 adults there for lunch and were seated upstairs. Our waiter was amazing -- explained the menu fully (each section represents a different preparation method, e.g., grilled meats and such, sauced meats, biryanis (including a jackfruit biryani that I thought was chicken the entire meal), and accompaniments like naan) and even made sure we didn't over order. My favorites were the lamb special that came with roti and sauced tomato chicken dish (almost like buttered chicken or murgh tikka masala). My least favorite was the grilled chicken dish -- I was expecting chicken breast grilled like tandoori tikka or a grilled chicken breast dish I get at a local US indian shop that is marinated in a green yogurt sauce -- instead, the dish was dark meat chicken that I could not tell what part of the chicken it was, but came with a very flabby and fatty piece of meat/fat on the bottom. The place is not inexpensive, but was exceptional, and we even had leftovers.

Great culinary experience! As soon as we arrived from London via train we were ready for some lunch. Dishoom was only a few minutes away. The place has a very intimate vibe with dark painted walls and golden accent. Our server was fast and courteous. I started off with the rose lassi which was not overly sweet. Perfection! We then shared chaat and it was delicious; sweet, tangy and savory. My husband and I then split a paneer roll which was very flavorful and juicy. We also shared salli botti. The lamb was deliciously flavored and tender. They should really consider branching out to the US. Will definitely reminisce about their food once I go back home. read more
Dishoom is a must when visiting Edinburgh, and now that I've gone so many times I have some advice... 1. They don't take reservations for dinner. Expect to queue up outside. Don't worry, they'll come around and offer you hot tea. The next waiting area will be at the downstairs bar (The Permit Room, "a space dedicated to the most delicious and sincere tipples, great music, and good cheer"). Enjoy a drink (lots of cocktail and mocktail options) and when your table is ready, your pager will go off (sometimes this takes fifteen minutes, sometimes closer to 60 minutes); notify the staff, and you'll be taken to your seat. 2. YOU WANT A TABLE UPSTAIRS. The vibe is much cooler, it's more spacious, it's artistic feeling, and - even on dreary days - it's beautiful with the huge windows overlooking St Andrew Square. Sitting downstairs in the basement? Super claustrophobic, super loud, super dark. The last time we were here, we were sat next to a corporate outing of 24 or 26 people and a) we could barely hear each other, b) we could barely move in and out of our seats because there were so many staff members buzzing around that group. However... 3. The service is over-the-top amazing no matter where you sit. 4. Food: DON'T order the Samosas (they're small and unmemorable) or the Gunpowder Potatoes (they're never as good as you think they're going to be). DO order the Okra Fries (I never liked okra until I tried these; they're light, they're crunchy, they're salty), the Dishoom House Chaat (it's described as "warm-cold, sweet-tangy, moreish" and... yes, to all of that; made with golden-fried sweet potato, covered with oat yoghurt, pomegranate, beetroot, radish, topped with a tamarind drizzle and green chutney too), and the Chole Chawal (spiced chickpeas, basmati rice, some kind of squash, and a pickled veg; it makes for exceptional cold, late night leftovers). The menu changes a couple times a year, but these items have always been on the menu over the years I've visited. Unfortunately, it looks like they recently took the basmati kheer (caramelized basmati rice pudding with vanilla-infused coconut milk, cardamon, and cashews topped with blueberry compote) off the pudding menu, which is a shame because it was one of the best desserts I had eaten anywhere. 5. My goodness! The food here was explosively good. By far the best option during my stay in the UK. I ordered the Chicken Ruby and it did not disappoint. My server took his time to make suggestions from the menu based on my food palate. They have so many options for vegans too (my friend was a vegan). The ambiance is lively and very homey. I loved it here and will be back the next time I'm in town. read more
I've been to the London location and now after trying the Edinburgh, I they are consistent. My short review is Dishoom is good, but not great. We called ahead to get a seat and were able to wait downstairs in the bar until our seat was ready which didn't take too long. For a starter, we had the Chili Chicken. It's just some fried up pieces of chicken that are too over fried and marinated in some sauce that isn't very spicy or flavorful for that matter. For our meal, we had the Masala Prawns, Dishoom Chicken Tikka and Garlic Naan. The prawns are quite small, grilled but nothing special about them. The Chicken Tikka and Garlic Naan are good, but nothing special. For desert, we shared the Chocolate Pudding, Basmati Kheer and Ice Cream with Mango. Again, these were good but nothing I would come to the place specifically for. This is my sixth time to the UK and I have heard such great things about the Indian food, but I'm just not finding any that's worth raving about. And people have told me what a great restaurant Dishoom is but I would disagree. For atmosphere, this is probably why people come here. It seems to be a very popular place but it would seem more about the atmosphere than the food. It's okay food but I'm sure there are places with better food. read more

When planning my trip to London, I reached out to some friends who used to live there for Indian restaurant recommendations, and the unanimous winner was Dishoom. After eating there I can confidently say it was worth the hype. The first sign of a great restaurant is its popularity. It is not particularly easy to eat and get a reservation here. Despite all of this we were fortunate enough to arrive early and were seated before our reservation. We kicked things off with the lamb samosas, and they were fantastic. Warm and flaky, packed with flavorful spices that hit all the right spots, an appetizer worth savoring. For the main course, I had the Chicken Ruby, which was nothing short of spectacular. This curry was silky smooth and bursting with flavor--exactly what you want from a proper curry. Paired with a side of fluffy basmati rice and garlic naan. The naan, by the way, was the perfect vehicle to scoop up every drop of that delicious curry. The service was outstanding as well. Our server was attentive, patient, and genuinely helpful in guiding us through the menu to make sure we chose dishes we would enjoy. Overall, Dishoom lived up to its reputation and then some. It's a must-visit spot if you're craving authentic, flavorful Indian cuisine. I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town! read more

Highly popular Indian restaurant suited for UK tastes. Came here for lunch at 1:15pm and it was very busy. We had to wait a bit but even when we left at 3pm, there was still a long line of people waiting. It was a 45 minute wait at that time for people with no reservations. Food-wise, we got the following: - Paneer tikka: a classic and a solid vegetarian option - Murgh Malai - this was well seasoned though a teeny bit dry - sheekh kabob - our waiter forgot to include this in our order so we had to wait for it, but it was worth it - chili broccoli salad - half portions are available for this; I appreciated how well tossed it was - garlic naan and cheese naan - both were good, though note these come in half pieces, so if you typically use a lot of bread, get more than you think - Chicken berry biryani - not my favorite but a good size for sharing - Dishoom chocolate pudding - this was a spicy chocolate dessert with a soft, almost ganache like texture - mango lassi - they included cardamom in it and this helps balance the heat in some of the dishes - Chocolate chai - a very comforting way to end the meal; I liked this a lot read more

This food is worth the wait! We were told there was around a 45 minute wait for two people and decided to stick it out. We waited about 10 minutes in line with a cup of complementary chai and around 25 minutes at the bar before our table was ready. Our server was very helpful and the food was incredibly delicious. The chili chicken was flavorful and spicy. The chicken ruby was creamy, and the chicken tandoori was warm and tender. If I ever come back to Edinburgh, I'd wait in line again!!! read more

Some family friends mentioned this was a hot Indian restaurant when I mentioned I was planning a trip to Scotland. They warned me the lines get long, so my friends and I set up reservations almost two months before our trip. Best decision we made! The food was phenomenal and the line was starting to form when we left. Two of us split the salli boti (lamb curry) which came with roomali toti, the chicken berry Britannia biryani and a side of raita. Our other friend ordered the chicken ruby (chicken tikka masala). The food was really well prepared and so flavorful. The meat was falling apart and so tender. If you love Indian food definitely add this restaurant to your list of places to check out. My favorite restaurant I tried in Edinburgh! Liked it so much I went twice. Very cool vibes on the inside and all the staff were really friendly. My favorites were the Salli Boti (incredible flavor, tender lamb) and the house chaat (such a fun mixture of textures and flavors!). Garlic naan was solid and the black daal had some really deep, rich flavors (that being said, I recommend sharing this dish with other people because if you're by yourself, as I was, that is a LOT of lentils for one person to eat). Tried the pitaya-papaya colada, which I recommend if you're into fruity cocktails where you can barely taste the alcohol. The basmati kheer was really yummy, first time having a caramelized rice pudding (liked the flavor so much I actually think it would've been better without the blueberry compote). read more

I am Dishoom superfan. I won't wait hour+ like many do in their London location but will make a reservation and happily give them my money in exchange for their delicious food and drinks. The roomali roti, paneer tikka, daal, butter chicken, biryani, fresh OJ, chocolate cake all were A+. I wish they open up more locations in other parts of the world. read more

It's almost impossible to get into this restaurant in London, but luckily it's much more doable in Edinburgh. I see why it's so popular though because the food was delicious. The server explained the whole menu to me and recommended items from each section based on what is popular as well as his personal favorites. I ordered the chili chicken starter, chicken ruby curry as my main, and spiced corn as my side. Everything was so flavorful and delicious but still felt like comfort food. After an amazing dinner I also had to try dessert so I ordered the chocolate pudding with chili ice cream and it was 10/10. My friend recommended it, Yelp recommended it. So, you know I had pretty high expectations coming into this restaurant... SERVICE 1) While you wait on the line outside, you can tell they really care for their customers. You are given a choice of a complimentary cup of warm hot chai or mint tea. Also if it's raining outside, they allow you to borrow an umbrella to stand under. 2) While you wait inside, you are lead to the downstairs bar area where you either wait a short time or a bit longer depending on the circumstance. You are seated at a table with water service and a menu for alcoholic/non alcoholic refreshments to order in the process. If you don't get it at the bar, they bring it to the dining table that awaits you. In the meantime, you are giving a remote that will buzz when your table is ready. 3) When you head into the elevator, you are escorted to your table upon exiting. At the table, the server takes your order. Service was very prompt and they are very attentive at every stage of the process. Everything was very organized and had a system in place for it, which was great. FOOD My friends and I tried a various selection of appetizers including okra fries, prawn koliwada, khichia & chundo. The portions are not very big, but also not very small. A small tease before your main meal. They were all warm & delicious. For my main, I got to try the Chicken Ruby. Unfortunately the Chicken Ruby doesn't come with anything else, so I had to order a Basmati Rice separately. The rice bowl was a good portion. The Chicken Ruby was excellent. As a fan of tomatoes/pasta sauce which is what I thought it tasted most similarly to, I really enjoyed it. The chicken pieces were also very soft and easy to bite into. Overall based on my first visit, I am very impressed. When it comes to the service & food, I'm giving them a very high rating among hundreds of other reviews. read more

This is the second of the Dishoom restaurants I have had the pleasure of dining in, the other being in London Kensington. Love this place! Food is great and the menu of drinks and food is extensive. Make reservations as this place seems to be busy all day long. Service is great and I love the decor, reminiscent of Old Bombay. I had a cocktail called a Colaba Colada, similar to a pina colada, but with shaved coconut, and some exotic additions which made it magnificent. Food is brought out as it is done and is always piping hot. We feasted on Pau Bhaji, mashed veggies in sauce over butter buns; House Chat sweet potatoes with yogurt, tamarind and other wonderful items; black dal; matter paneer; greens; rice and garlic naan. No meal could be better than this! All dishes are meant to be shared. Come hungry. read more
After a few visits to London locations, I wanted to see if the Edinburgh location of Dishoom kept up with upbeat atmosphere and high food quality of its sister restaurants. While most restaurants can't replicate quality over multiple locations, Dishoom has done a fairly decent job at growing its brand, with only very subtle differences in cooking/preparation from restaurant to restaurant. The location is ideal in St. Andrew's Square, just off George Street and within walking distance of Waverley Station and Edinburgh Castle. The interiors here are tastefully decorated, and a select few tables have window seats overlooking St. Andrew's Square. We started off with their house chai and mango lassi. The mango lassi wasn't my favorite preparation, being very light on yogurt and mango flavor, but a tad bit better than the one I had at their Kensington location. The house chai was great, and this was the only location where both our waitress and the manager proactively offered complimentary refills of the chai (definitely a nice touch). For food, we went with the pau bhaji and ruby chicken, with basmati rice and a naan. Both were delicious preparations, with the pau bhaji having a nice bit of heat to it without being too spicy (would have been nice to have an extra bun or two as there was plenty of bhaji left over once the buns were finished). The ruby chicken gravy was great, but the chicken itself was a tad bit dry compared to their other locations. They were nice enough to provide a complimentary basmati kheer dessert for a birthday we were celebrating, and it was the most unique preparation of the dessert I've had, with a slightly caramelized top to it. Overall, it was a 4.5/5 star meal, and I'm happy to round up due to the super friendly staff that made it a memorable meal. I'm glad Dishoom is raising the bar for atmosphere and food quality, as other Indian restaurants are upping their game and trying out similar concepts, which is great for those who love a good meal out. read more
The hype is real. I've only had Indian food one other time and wasn't a fan. This time, I was excited to try somewhere I've already heard from many others that it's really good!! The server was super helpful talking us through the menu, balancing out the meal, and suggesting items. The spices are delicious. The food is cooked well. An absolutely phenomenal experience from start to finish! My husband and I recently visited Edinburgh and I read that a visit to Dishoom was a must. We saw that there are no dinner reservations, and I immediately registered this as a "get in line" type of set-up. I was correct - we arrived at the restaurant around 5:45 pm and there was already a line and about a 45 minute wait. But, we were determined and committed to the wait! During our brief outdoor wait, we were served a small glass of sparkling lemonade, which was lovely. The majority of our waiting time was spent in the bar, which is in the sublevel of the restaurant. We were able to order cocktails and enjoy the chic ambiance and music for a while before being buzzed for our table. I tried the Padmini Negroni, it was so unique and cocoa-forward, and I loved the chocolate garnish! Our dinner table was upstairs on the top floor (the main entrance floor being mainly kitchen space), we were able to use an elevator rather than climb multiple floors - I love to see restaurants with accessibility considerations! Our server, Mat, was AWESOME - he was kind and cheery and very helpful in directing us in how much food we should approximate for our meal. We took his recommendations and he was spot-on, especially with the appetizer, the house chaat. It was fantastic, we were ready to lick the bowl clean. We then ordered garlic naan, Keema Pau (lamb and peas with fluffy rolls), chicken biryani, mutton pepper fry (tender and spicy lamb stew), and the broccoli chili salad. All were SO delicious and flavorful, and each dish complimented one another perfectly. We were lured into ordering some sweets post-dinner, and to our surprise we were treated to complimentary dessert thanks to our server gathering that we were celebrating our first year of marriage. We tried the alphonso mango and ice cream seasonal bowl, as well as the chocolate pudding with chili ice cream - both amazing! We left with happy tummies and astonishment at the level of detail and care put into the Dishoom experience. If we ever are lucky enough to visit Edinburgh or the UK again, we will make a point to visit and enjoy the amazing food once more. Thank you to the Dishoom team for such a great night! read more
Automatic 12.5% gratuity service charge. Ambiance: hipster with the feel of old English saloon. Very cute decor. Service: came on a Wednesday night but the place was packed. Waited 45 minutes for a a table for 2 (we didn't make a reservation). Servers were attentive and didn't not lack in any areas. Food: Naan made in tandoori oven was nice touch but it was too firm for my liking. I prefer it a bit softer. Brocoli stems and snow peas was nicely done and flavor was superb. Greens were perfectly cooked with a nice bite still left and the Salty lime flavor really brought the flavors together well. Okra fries were a bit burnt. Crispy, but burnt. Okra cut too thinly. Adding on the chutney helped mute the burnt flavors. Chicken murgh malai (under "grilled meats") was tender and flavorful, however, it had no sauce. The no sauce lacked the moisture mouth feel so we had to order.. Mattar Paneer: Slightly spicy with a good amount if paneer and sauce, however, the sauce was extremely sweet - a lot sweeter than I expected. However, I'm not familiar with mumbai's cuisine so this could be how this dish is supposed to be made. read more
Dishoom is the real deal -- the most unique flavors I've ever tasted. First, make a reservation. This place is filled all hours of the day. If you are American and used to eating Indian food there you will be blown away at how different the dishes are here. The vegetable samosas are sweet and spicy, I swear they taste like apple pie in a really good way. The Dishoom house chaat is amazing -- sweet, spicy, sour and fresh. The chicken ruby is one of the best things I've ever eaten -- sweet, savory, almost like a tika in the US but the depth of flavor is unmatched. This is a MUST! The black dal was outstanding and the raita was perfect to even out the heat of the other dishes. If you are anywhere near a Dishoom restaurant it is an absolute must eat!! I can not wait to come back to the UK for more. read more

1. The decor was amazing! Beautiful attention to detail. 2. Service was impeccable! The staff was friendly and kind, always! 3. Food was amazing! Our favorites were the Ruby chicken, fried okra, broccoli salad, tikka masala, papadums and the chai tea! The chai tea is refillable and refill we did! I was sad they were out of the samosas. 4. The chutneys were all incredibly delicious. The broccoli salad was my personal favorite and I have been making it since I returned home. Buy the cookbook. read more

Do it. Book a reservation, you won't be disappointed if you enjoy this cuisine. It was possibly the best Indian food I've ever had. The Ruby chicken was our favorite (like tikka masala). We also enjoyed the chili chicken as an appetizer (we are not big on spice and this was about my limit but nonetheless amazing. The type of spice you just want more and more). Additionally, the black daal, garlic naan, and basmati rice. The mango lassi drink really was great, helped neutralize the spice. The 2 of us shared one app, the naan and rice, and 2 main dishes. This was perfect for us. Our server and everyone we encountered were lovely. Fun to talk to, ask questions about the city (we literally landed and came right here after dropping our bags off), and just chat in general. The inside was super cute and I felt at home. I wish I had one by my house. I'd be a regular for sure. 10/10. read more

The food was delicious and there are a variety of choices. We enjoyed the samosas but wished we ordered the chatt. We enjoyed the chai, but it was a small glass. We also had mango lassi - just okay. We had the garlic naan, basmati rice, and the potato . All were winners. The chicken tikka was tasty and filling. The bowl of greens is composed of broccolini and snow peas which was also delicious. The food was good and the server was okay. They added a 12.50% optional service charge to the bill and didn't explain it-- sort of presumptuous. We had lots of leftovers too. read more
I've been to one of the Dishoom London locations and was really excited to learn that there was a location in Edinburgh and that breakfast was served. At the recommendation of other Yelpers, I got a bacon egg naan roll and thought it was tasty and it was filling. The prices here are a bit high for what you get, in my opinion. read more
It doesn't get much better than Dishoom! I've been to a couple in London so had to make a reservation to try this one. Menu is so good we over ordered but loved every bite. Incredible service by the staff. We had a window seat upstairs and it was the perfect treat for my parents. Cocktails were perfectly balanced and delightful. Can't wait to get back to the UK to visit again!! read more
