    Veggie Delight
    David K.

A casual spinoff of the legendary Sunnyvale restaurant, Dish N Dash features a modern, Californian take on Middle Eastern cuisine in a counter-service setting with plentiful seating. We started with the Veggie Delight, a mezze platter of falafel, hummus, tabouli, babaghanouge, red pepper-walnut dip, feta, greens, and pita slices. My personal favorites were the creamy hummus and crispy falafel, but every component was delicious! Another highlight of the menu was their vibrant salads, made of mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, herbs, olives, and za'atar lavash chips. The fresh and crunchy salad was topped with a corn-edamame salsa and pulled sumac chicken, tender pieces of chicken spiced with citrusy sumac. But the most unique, authentic Middle Eastern dishes on the menu were their entrees, including the Tabsi, an acidic mixture of stewed eggplant, onions, tomatoes, peppers, garlic, and dry lime in a mild curry, topped with a tender fillet of salmon. Their signature dish was the Mansaf, tender chunks of lamb cooked in a creamy spiced aged yogurt sauce, which had a deep, umami, tangy flavor. Both dishes came with freekeh, cracked wheat with a smokey aroma. Every dish we had here delicious, and everything came at a decent value with friendly service too!

So glad we finally got a Dish n Dash! Ordered for pickup on a weekday and it was crowded in the parking lot (a good sign!). Husband said it was well organized inside in terms of where to pick up to-go orders, etc. The food was delicious, and the portions were hearty. Hubs got the Beriani Dajaj. It was surprisingly saucy. We thought it would be a drier dish, but it was very good nonetheless. And the extra sauce was so good mixed with the rice. I got the grilled chicken shawarma with garlic dip and tabouli as my sides. It was also very good and so flavorful. I do wish there'd been a little more tabouli, but the garlic dip was fantastic. The shawarma comes with edamame corn salsa, which tasted fine but the I didn't care for the textures. I'd probably ask to exclude the next time if I remember. It wasn't a deal breaker, just more chewing than I wanted. But hey, there are so many other things on the menu we want to try. They even have fresh pressed juices! Highly recommend this restaurant!

Came here on a Friday for dinner. This is a counter service type restaurant. You order at the counter, then find a table. Your food will be brought out to you. It was obviously busy as they had just opened the Wednesday prior. The restaurant is nice and new. Aesthetically, not as nice as the Cupertino location, but still fine. Lamb Shwarma grill plate - 4/5: always my favorite with hummus, cabbage and walnuts, with freekah. All very tasty, not overcooked. First time trying the cabbage and walnuts. That was a nice surprise and will order it in the future as a side. Sauces available was yogurt, chipotle yogurt, green and red sauce. Not sure what the last two sauces were called, but those are spicy. Chicken shawarma grill plate - 4/5: very good with a nice spicy, not hot flavor. The combination of tamarind and cumin is nice. Hummus on the side which is always good. Falafel was solid as well and good dipped in chipotle yogurt! Baklava - 4/5: solid offering. Buttery and crisp. Overall, great addition to Dublin. Service was very good in terms of delivery and removing your dishes. Will return again.

Where to start when you've been absolutely blown away in every aspect of a dinner experience. The design of the outside looks really good I like it a lot. When you walk in it's even better. Everything is well spaced and not crowded. Everything from the paint to the coloring of the furniture is well done and clean. They have a few TV's which is really nice and outside seating. The amount of seating is great. The staff is amazing and very friendly. I was able to meet some really nice people today. For the food absolutely amazing. Best Middle Eastern food I've ever had. between the wife and I we had the Shawarma Hummus with lamb. Wow what a dish. Next we had the Shawarma lamb and the wife had lamb kabobs. Both dishes we decided on rice and lentil soup. Both those dishes were amazing also. I decided to try the Jasmine Petal tea and that was very good as well. Best lamb outside of my home we have ever had. I do a good amount of lamb cooking at home. We can't wait to go back again but this time we will bring the kids as they love this type of food as well. Thank you very much for an amazing experience.

Falafel pita, lentil soup, salad, and kalamata olives on the side. All was great and fresh - the spicy sauce was the best!

I was excited to see a new Dish N Dash close to home and checked it out for lunch today. It was definitely busy and popular, all the staff was really nice and fast considering how packed it was. Met the owner who was super kind and checked on us - great service, food was excellent, and the location is really nice and well laid out. Happy to come back here!

My first time at Dish N Dash. A unexpected experience ordering at the counter then having the food delivered to the table. Not bad, just unexpected. It's in the old Applebees restaurant, tastefully updated. Quality of the food is excellent. Freshly made, distinct flavors, nothing overpowering. The hummus had a very clean yet rich texture and taste. Kebabs were juicy and seasoned well. The chicken kebab was surprisingly juicy. The schwarma had a balanced flavor. I'll definitely be coming back. When we left, the line was to the door so prepare your arrival accordingly.

Just open, 2nd day. Expect some rough edges. Would love to come back and update. Here are the misses. Chicken and beef shawarma over cooked, dry and tough to eat. Rice was not as good as other store in fremont. Lacking herbs. Not as flavorful. Tabouleh needs more mint. Overall flavors are ok. Room to improve for sure.

Good food, big portions, well balanced meal. Quite busy for a Wednesday night. A line started forming for a while.

I visited the opening day of the new Dish n Dash location in Dublin, and it was a great first impression. I've tried their other locations like Sunnyvale and Milpitas before, so I was especially excited for their first Tri-Valley opening. The restaurant took over the former Applebee's location and completely redid the space. The ambience is now rustic and chic, a major change from before. There's plenty of seating with both an outdoor patio and an indoor dining area. For the opening, it was nicely decorated with balloons and flowers. The ordering system is fast-casual. You choose your table, order at the front, and the food is brought out to you. It's also self-serve for condiments and extras. For food, we tried a few items. The chicken kabob plate came with basmati rice and a choice of two sides. We chose falafel and babaganoush. We also had the chicken shawarma, which was served inside a large pita, with fries and hummus on the side. The chicken kabob was slightly dry and a bit chewy, but the falafel and shawarma were flavorful. Both plates also came with extra pita bread. Portions were generous across both plates, and everything was filling. For dessert, we ordered the baklava crumble, which was vanilla ice cream topped with flaky pieces of baklava. It worked really well as a deconstructed dessert and was a nice finish to the meal. Pricing is in the typical range for Mediterranean spots in the Tri-Valley, coming to around $20 per plate, which feels fair given the portion sizes and quality. The staff was friendly as well, and the manager came by to welcome guests, which was a thoughtful touch.

So we now have a secondary restaurant similar to Nick the Greek which is one mile down the road from here , though the food quality is certainly a step up from Nick the Greek , and a little more expensive. Ordered 3 dishes - note : portion size is such that you can likely share an entre at this location. Very tasty it is too. Hummus appears to have been made on campus and the veggies are all fresh. Only points to note on our visit was that there was a dirty spoon under our clean table when we arrived , on the Ice Tea station , devoid of fresh lemon till I pointed out to the manager this issue . Food came to our table within a reasonable amount of time though with w two napkins not three. As the food was good and service was friendly - I'd likely come back for another round. Thumbs up.

Dish Dash Dublin is finally here--and it was absolutely worth the wait! We've been loyal fans of their South Bay location for over 25 years, so having them open in the East Bay feels like a dream come true. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by their longtime manager, who even recognized us as repeat customers, along with the owners themselves. That kind of hospitality is rare and truly makes you feel like family. The food is hands down the best Mediterranean cuisine around--fresh, flavorful, and made with so much care it reminds me of home-cooked meals straight from my own kitchen. The menu has something for everyone, including great vegan options, and the portions are incredibly generous. And honestly... if only my husband looked at me the way he looked at his kanafeh! If you've been waiting to try it, go now--they're finally open! We'll definitely be back next week for a family birthday celebrate!

I had gone to the DishDash location in Milpitas and was very excited to this new location Went for a Sunday dinner- the line was out the door to order, its casual dining- you order at the counter and then find a table. They bring the food to you. We ordered Chicken shawarmas and the pulled Sumak chicken! The sauces are self serve - which I loved. The food came pretty quickly and taste was amazing. The portion sizes were great and sides were delicious. The dining room is pretty big, the line moves pretty quickly, service is good and the food is great! Definitely coming back!!

The rice overload needs to be addressed by Sultan's. It would be much nicer if you could order meat skewer sides and add carbs IF wanted. With a 5 dinner order, the hummus that arrived on the plates were too small to share. Think 5 pita half's and 2 sauce container hummus. Doesn't translate. The onions could be pickled. I got the triple kabob plate and the rice portion was surprisingly small compared to other Afghan spots. Chicken kabobs were inconsistent: some pieces were super salty, others were fine. The beef was tender, but not every bite had the same flavor. Chicken was tender though, cut well. Could have been flavored a bit more Plates overall felt smaller than what I'm used to at similar restaurants. Also worth mentioning -- they serve alcohol here, so if you're strict about halal, that might be a consideration. Since a place selling wine- not sure how strict they are on sourcing halal meat (hand slaughter for example). Also very pricey location compared to others maybe since they serve wine they catering to folks that drink who may spend more without caring All in all, not terrible, but definitely inconsistent and portion sizes could be better. Worth mentioning that all these de afghanans are not same - they have diff owners etc. Not bad seating, was empty for a sunday lunch at noon .

I love coming here for a weekend lunch after a walk at my favorite Park in Danville…read more My husband always orders his favorite combination shawarma plate. It's a huge plate of food and he always brings home half. I tried their vegetable plate today for the first time. I thought the flavoring of the different dips were just okay. The eggplant dip was too sour. In order to make everything work, I highly suggest you save the red sweet pepper dip and mix it with everything else. I enjoyed the two falafels because they were hot, very light and crispy. The dolmas were sour. Overall, I felt like I was eating a lot of baby food. It's difficult to take home dip so I just ate it all which is a lot of food. I enjoyed the chickpea salad. It was one of the three items that was not a dip. The dips went well with their pita. When you order two entrees, you get a good amount of pita. They always serve complimentary black tea with your meals which is comforting to have. This restaurant is always clean and the music relaxing and not overwhelming.

3.5 stars reluctantly rounded down to 3 stars. Maybe a couple of "off" nights…read more My "go-to" weeknight place if I'm too lazy to cook but want a healthier meal than fast food. Favorite item on the menu is the chicken burger. Also like the skinny fries included as a side. The fries stay crisp even when eaten at home at room temp. Occasionally, indulge in the yummy chocolate mousse. Really rich and decadent. But lately the portion has gotten smaller. Don't mind too too much because it is that good. But once, got a cup of mousse that wasn't creamy at all but was 1 solid mass. When scooped, it crumbled. Cream could have been overwhipped. The end result, they made chocolate butter not mousse. It also had a slight "refrigerator" flavor like it was stored uncovered and it absorbed flavors from other food in the fridge or freezer. Only reason I didn't complain was I didn't want to drive back to the restaurant. But management should be careful and practice higher quality control. Issues like these will erode the good will of loyal customers if they persist. The other thing the restaurant has messed up is when I ordered the Sultan salad. This particular salad doesn't typically have lettuce. It has tomatoes, cucumbers, chickpeas, feta, and avocado. Once, staff gave me a lettuce salad instead. This has happened only once, again when I did takeout. Partially my bad since I should check the bag before leaving. Could also be a language barrier. That particular night, I was trying to be extra healthy and making special requests. The cashier must have been so confused and didn't know how to key my changes into the register. Next time, instead of trying to order a lettuce or protein wrap, I'll get the chicken burger as is and discard the bun at home. Or won't order smaller portions of different salads to try to make a "sampler" salad plate. S'OK tho, as long as it is some sort of salad, I can truthfully tell my doc I'm eating healthy. Just won't tell her about the occasional baklava, chocolate mousse, or pistachio kadayif. Lol
