We moved our boat out mid season because of horrible service and repeated damage to our boat. I spoke to regional GM of Suntex and there is no interest in improving service while they install new systems. While we were there on our last day there were 4 other furious boat owners due to horrible service due to long haul out times (30 mins or more), not being able to to find employees to help, and them damaging boats. One of the owners went so far to get his trailer rebuilt to move his boat. There are other better choices nearby. Orwood and Whiskey Slough have space and Whiskey Slough offers full launch services. read more

I was at my best friends place for the weekend. We were supposed to head down to Duck Key in Florida to visit my brother but had to cancel because the Delta variant is really bad there, the government is a bunch of idiots! Anyway I decided to at least go to my friends who is in your "bubble" of vaccinated people. She was trying to find fun activities for us to do during my 3 day visit. She had sent me prices for a pontoon rentals and I was a shocked! I grew up on and around all types of boats and water crafts my entire life so she knew this would be fun! We were going to do a lot of boating/ scuba diving, lobster trapping ect. on our trip. My girlfriend took me to the marina so I could check it out...this was fun but I was cracking up at the prices they were charging...It was super hot out so a pontoon would be a long hot trip. The boats I saw for rent had a 60 HP motor...This is a total putt putt as far as I'm concerned, I definitely have the need for speed! It was a nice marina and had a large storage area for boats. I always get a kick out of boats names and where they originated from. There were some old dogs with fleas for sure! LOL! They had a couple of small boutiques with touristy stuff, boat shop, and the harbor masters office. I was impressed with the overall cleanliness of the property. This complex that my friend lives in has a championship gold course, harbor and a nice country club. It's pretty nice over there in Discovery Bay. I actually was looking at a home on the water while I was there, but I'm not a fan of the delta at all. It's actually very dangerous for water skiing and such...if it was directly on the bay then that would be a different story all together. The only negative thing for me is it's a gated community! My husband and I agree that we just detest this. When I arrived on Thursday around noon, I had to wait for no reason for a van parked in front of me at the gate. If I could give them a negative star, I would. I don't know about now, but a couple of years ago maybe 2021, this place was a Scandal. If you stored your boat here monthly, they would add erroneous charges to your account regularly. Pam, the "accountant" would also like to add launch fees even when you didn't launch your boat. I had the account placed on auto pay, yet every month we had to constantly do an account reconciliation! Why!? That's because Pam would even mess the auto pay up by not withdrawing the payments on time and then she would do several months at once without even any notification. This is not ok. We went to the Harbor Master at that time but it's like he was too scared or incompetent to help. We also met a couple people who had the same experience. It was my understanding that they did some restructuring, and hopefully they got rid of the corrupt staff that was there, but in the meantime, be very wary and check your bills at the very least. Especially if you don't live there because they think you wont be coming into the office as much. That is what they don't want. They tend to hit out of towners way more. Good Luck! read more

Horrendous! If you love waiting 45 minutes to launch or land your boat, this is the place for you! The prices went up to $30 a launch. They allow unexperienced boaters to launch taking 15-20 minutes each. They will have 5-8 people working on the dock, and "due to liability" they won't help the people that clearly need help. When their dry stack ramp is not in use they will sometimes allow others to use the ramp, but you basically have to beg someone. Yesterday was the final straw for us. We will be launching elsewhere from now on. If I was the owner, I would hire someone to run dock operations, streamline efficiencies and take a good look at my staff that stands around getting paid to do nothing. read more

Great place to get gas when boating in the delta, they have many fun events all summer long here, like the poker run, music concerts, etc .The guys on the boat dock are always willing to help you tie up the boat. Also a fun place to paddleboard around the marina. Great job !! read more

My favorite place to launch the jet's in our area. We use to go to the one in the Och where it's free but you get all kinds of stupid over there. Not that you won't find stupid here (that's completely unavoidable) but you also get a lot of good folks here too. I actually met some peeps the other day who offered to teach my booty to wakeboard if we followed their boat out (very cool). Water isn't as choppy here either. Normally, that's not really an issue for me as I like a little danger in my life, however, we tend to take out friends and fam and I prefer to take them to calmer waters. For those kamikaze riders like myself, you will find plenty of areas where you can get your bounce on. My only real complaint is that long no wake zone. About 10-15 min in and out. The houses are quite beautiful to look at but I find myself getting slightly bitter as I cook, wishing I owned a piece of that prime property. Now that I think about it, I should probably just add a kayak to my arsenal because that no wake zone is large and perfect for that. Yes, this marina is for everybody! Great place to store your boat in Discovery Bay!

NEVER AGAIN. Methinks they need to work a bit on their ethics. Sure, they're fine when they've got you by the short hairs. Your boat's in dry stack, they charge you monthly in advance and it's only $10 every time you go to launch. The trouble starts when you remove your boat from their tender care. That's when you ask for your money back after they charge your credit card for storing a boat that has been gone from their facility for a month (note: it takes them NO TIME to AUTOMATICALLY CHARGE YOUR CREDIT CARD) but when they charge you for services not rendered they give you a song and dance about how the corporate office needs to send a check. Never mind that 30 days after your boat is IN ANOTHER STATE they're still hanging on to your money. Our boat left their facility on August 3, 2016. They billed us on September 1 for rent. Where's our refund? And if you call, you get to talk with Christian (nice enough fellow, but he can't help you) and refers you to Pam, who is less than cordial, less than helpful but pretty darn arrogant. And she seems to think it's okay to use customers as a bank while they sit on your refund, happily telling you she's finished with this conversation. read more

Nice place to get gas cause you get to look at all the pretty houses in Discovery Bay along the way. Drawback is it takes 10 minutes in & 10 minutes out due to the no wake zone speed. Once there you can have a restroom break, get a snack, buy a truly expensive bathing suit, buy a boat cover, a house... you can get anything from sunglasses to ice cream to fishing bait or jet ski batteries from the chandlery. Really has a little bit of everything here including dry stack storage. Woody's restaurant closed down and now they are putting in a Sports Bar & Steak House. Same owners as the new Sports Bar & Steak House at the entrance to Disco Bay. Costs $20 to launch here. read more

STAY AWAY ! I kept my boat here and regretted it everytime i came to get my boat. The storage they provide is next to a dusty dirt farm. Your boat is not protected at all. My boat was covered in dirt, spider webs, and wasps nests evrytime. Disgusting. They stole my life jackets, fire extinguisher, ropes, etc. Obviously this was the workers. Not to mention they raise the rate without telling you. Ya its cheap storage, but you get what you pay for. read more

Kayak launching is $5 each. There's a side dock that they ask you to launch off of, but I'm thinking it's only when there's hella boats (which there is). There's just short of a mile stretch before getting into the fast water, so it still feels safe kayaking. Summer vibe here is loud music and drunkedness. But with fall catching on it should be better fishing. read more

Good spot to Launch your boat, cost $10 draw back is that they lock the gates at 7pm that means you have to leave ski beach about 20min early. Everything else is great, nice peaceful, theres a few stores for fishing,vinyl, eating everything you forgot at home for the Delta you can most likely get it here. Really Nice Spot. read more

The am attendant was not only rude with me, but went as far as to call the Contra Costa Sheriff's Department, for reasons I still don't know. All I wanted to do is speak to Dan, the Harbormaster, and have now been waiting with my puppy for an hour, to speak with CCCS. For nothing, except for the morning attendant being an asshole. This is not the first problem I've had with Discovery Bay Yacht Harbor. Dan is cool, but the people he has working for him are sub-par to say the least. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!! read more

This is a nice harbor. There are a lot of places you could stop in your travels on the delta that are falling apart. My favorite part about this place is the gas seems to be more reasonably prices compared to some of the other docs. read more

I like to launch here because it is close to my house. The employees are helpful. The reason I can't give a better rating is the employees are limited to the help they can give because of liability. In the past, this was not a problem. Also, be prepared, the price to launch has gone up. read more

We recently bought a new boat to be stored at the harbor in a covered wet berth. We also have very little experience with launching. The crew at the harbor have been more then amazing!' We arrived with our new boat and they more then helped us get it in the water. They took our trailer to be stored without worry. A few days later I got a call letting me know that our brand new pontoon boat was having a leak in one of the pontoons. The grounds keeper let the harbor know that he notices one of our pontoons is leaking. I immediately got a call from Tony to let me know that our boat was in danger. I panicked a little because my husband had the truck so I freaked out! The crew from the harbor waited for me to arrive with the keys. They helped me get the boat to the launch ramp., had a Jeep with my trailer ready to pull the boat out to safety. We got the boat out but that's not all!! They stayed with me to help get the boat covered and protected. They have made this experience so incredible! I can't thank them enough for making all of our experiences great!! We store our boat in the dry storage here and have always had good experiences. Definitely need to call at least an hour before you arrive to request your boat launch (usually more than an hour on holiday weekends). Everyone is always very friendly and helpful! read more

Boat dock employs a bunch of unprofessional, authority abusing thieves. Was picking up a disabled boat for a Disco Bay resident that put their house up for sale and needed it out of there. They also had a Yamaha Wave Runner 1100 that we were going to use to tow boat over to ramp, but battery was dead. So now stuck with two disabled vessels, was lucky enough to have another boater give me a tow. So this very nice person towed the disabled boat with wave runner tied to it, over to boat ramp. 100+ degrees - damn hot! The employees at the boat ramp sat there and watched us the whole time trying to get boat loaded and they knew our situation because we had been talking to them the whole time. Finally got boat loaded and trailer tires were losing air, so jammed and parked truck and trailer, grabbed other pickup that we had brought to load the Waverunner in, because it had no trailer. Backed the truck down ramp to load Waverunner... had plenty of muscle to get it in Truck, and the guy working at the ramp tells me 'I am not allowing you to load that in your truck, you have to have a trailer, or I can't let you load it.' WTH? Didn't you see I was just towed over with two disabled vessels? I told him it was no problem, I got enough people to load it. He told me 'it's against our policy, blah, blah, blah'. I asked if I could see this policy, as it wasn't posted anywhere. I explained the situation again to him and told him that I wasn't an idiot, and I wouldn't get the truck stuck either. 'Have to have a trailer, people sink trucks, blah, blah'. How are you going to sit there and watch me knowing damn well what is coming next and not say anything before hand? I told him 'it does not run, what am I supposed to do with it? It has to come out, period... the house is up for sale and I CANT tow it back over there. Meanwhile the boat trailer tires are losing air and this guy has me hemmed up arguing with him. I asked him 'what would you suggest I do then? Would it be ok if someone tied it up on opposite side of ramp by rocks and come back for it after I dropped off boat?' He didn't answer so I told him 'well, I could just leave it here and you all can deal with it'. I was extremely fed up with his authoratative attitude and he was offering no suggestions. Before leaving, i told him I wasn't trying to cause any problems but he was going to have to work with me and let it sit there and I would return for it. He finally agreed, so Waverunner was left at ramp and we left. Couldn't get back in time before ramp closed that day. When owner contacted harbormaster about Waverunner, nobody knows where it is or anything about it. Period. Just a return message saying 'No, we don't have it'. Someone better find it...they have all information to contact us. Going to have to resort to other means if someone doesn't come up with anything real quick. ' read more

I often launch my boat out of the Discovery Bay Yacht club. The people who work the launch ramp and very nice and always helpful. I launch my boat by myself and they often help me. The launch fee is currently $10, which is very reasonable for the Delta. The facility is clean and they have a decent amount of parking. The parking is in a paved lot, not dirt of grass which is typical for the Delta. read more

EXTREMELY poor management! Spoke to 2 people last weekend after we pulled our boat out for service about storing trailer. We explained that we lived in DB but the trailer needed to be stored somewhere besides our house. Quoted us $65 per month (which is much higher than the other 2 places nearby) but we were willing to pay more because we live here and wanted to have the trailer close. Yesterday, called to say we would be unloading boat and wanted to store trailer-did I need reservation or . . . Was told "oh, no just fill out paperwork when you get here". SO, as you can imagine it was quite a surprise to find out that when we got there, completed the paperwork, we were told they had no space and that the 3 people (the 2 last weekend and the 1 yesterday) did not know what they were talking about. THIS is probably TRUE but it shows a true lack of management on the harbormaster who is in charge of communicating information to his staff. My recommendation if you have to have communication with them, get names, or better yet make them write something down and sign it. It is a shame they can't be trusted to give out accurate information particularly when people need accurate information to make decisions. read more

All I want to say is the discovery bay marina is a high way robbery, syerotyping racists, money hungery liars. I went to fill up a few seadoos with premium gasoline, each skii I tried to put gas in kept spraying back all the gasoline back at me, (mind you three different skiis) I asked the gas attended if I could use a different pump and it worked just fine! The gas atended then tires to charged me for both pumps, I refused to pay for the pump that did not work, I then walked into the bay masters office and asked to speak to the owner, a fellow named "DAN" said he was the owner, I explained my situation. All he had to say is " it wasn't his fault" and that " I shouldn't pump the gas so hard" I asked him politey to take a look at th pump that wasn't working correctly, yet he refused and charged me for the gas that I did not even receive! So I was forced to pay for BOTH PUMPS! and come to find out he ISNT EVEN THE OWNER OF DISCOVERY BAY MARINA! I would love to speak to the REAL owner! If anyone knows who the real OWNER IS please PM me so I can talk to him or her about how their company is being ran without them being there. read more

I moved to Discovery Bay Yacht Harbor after a very brief stay at a marina very close to this one. I was able to move in right away. The docks are cement and are cleaned weekly... something done "maybe" annually at the previous marina. Each slip has a dock box, power and water. There is fuel, launch ramp, pump out, boutique shopping, The Chandlery and The Boardwalk Grill. The marina is kept up beautifully and the people are friendly and helpful. This is the best marina in the area and only a few dollars more than the dilapidated marinas near by. Doesn't get much better than this place. read more

I also purchased a larger boat with them and sailed right through the paper work. Mac Cox is a very thorough businessman and had all necessary paperwork made out so all I had to do was sign the papers. Its nice to do business with a company that has been here for 13 years and has so much experience. Mac and his crew always respond 7 days a week and 10+ hours a day. read more
