I went in on Friday, 10/17/2025, for some simple tire pressure sensors and tire rotation. All my tires had lug nuts on. Today, when I went to put air in my tires, one of my lug nuts was missing . I took it to another discount shop and they told me that the stud was messed up. The threads were bad and I would need a new stud put in. The workers at this location never told me anything about it. ATTENTION to all women (and families) considering ANY services at Discount Tire - Oak Lawn. I recently sent my wife there alone to purchase two new front tires and get a basic tire rotation. What should have been a simple transaction turned into an obvious, aggressive upsell attempt rooted in fear-mongering. My wife was told that "4 out of 5 lug nuts on EVERY tire" were supposedly rounded off and needed to be replaced. Think about that for one second. The odds of nearly every lug nut on all four wheels being rounded off -- except ONE on each wheel -- is beyond unrealistic. The moment I heard this, I told my wife ABSOLUTELY NOT. I immediately called the store and spoke with the salesman, who simply regurgitated the same scripted nonsense. When I asked him to put the original lug nuts back on, his attitude flipped instantly -- clearly annoyed that the upsell wasn't working. I then warned my wife not to fall for the pressure tactics. After I hung up, the salesman continued to push the issue, this time escalating to selling her WHEEL LOCKS ON EVERY SINGLE TIRE -- not regular lug nuts, but wheel locks. Why would ANYONE need wheel locks on all four wheels as a "solution" to rounded lug nuts? Because it wasn't a solution -- it was an upsell. This was a blatant attempt to take advantage of a customer they assumed wouldn't question it. If you're not confident calling out B.S. on the spot, DO NOT go here alone. Orders (3) 225 45 19 Cooper cobra all season tires yesterday staff told me they will be in the next morning and that they will call me when they arrive. I get the call next day that the tires are in at Approximately 9:30 am. I arrived there to for service at approximately 10:20am , the tires were not put on until approximately 4:20pm the same day (over a 5 hour wait). Had several tire installations over the years here and Never had my wheels scratched! Last time I got charged a little more for the oversized tires on my 4Runner but was told that I get free tire balancing and tire rotations with this install. The other week I decided it's time for the rotation and went there early morning. I was 3rd in line and was signaled in immediately! After walking in they already knew who I am and asked what I needed. So they honored the agreement and checked the balancing and rotated the tires. I was told it was punctured in the "no fix" zone and the tire had to be replaced, couldn't be repaired. When I priced out the tire, discount tire had a much better price so I made an appointment. Arrived and found out my tire was, in fact, repairable. Discount Tire repaired my "no fix" tire and didn't charge me a penny!! (I didn't even buy the tire there.) I have had gotten tires from Discount Tires for years. I can honestly say I've never had a bad experience. I've been to a few different locations but I have this by far is my favorite location. This particular day I was helped by Najee. There was a nail stuck in my tire and I needed it repaired. Najee was very helpful. He was very thorough when explaining things to me. Very knowledgeable! He made sure I knew what was happening every step of the way. I would definitely say I had a great experience . They got me in and out under and hour. Came here because I was having a bit of an unexpected scenario with my car tire slowly leaking air. Thankfully today was my day off but unfortunately they are closed Sunday but thankfully they were able to squeeze me in for that day just to ease my worries away a bit more. Honestly, if you just go to the website, fill out the information or scan the QR code by the front door. It'll make your complete experience a much quicker and "safer" process. After the form, an employee comes up just to double check the info. They have you wait in your car for "x" amount of time. They come by to update you. You'll drive right in to the place and you'll sit in your car the whole time as they work on your vehicle which is a completely different experience for me but I enjoy it rather than staying in the waiting room. The staff here is beyond friendly, courteous and helpful. They even chatted with me about what was up. Guess I was leaking from the valve stem and they replaced it. They even have an air tire pressure station too with waiting lines as long as trying to get through the drive thru at portillos. Overall, astonishing experience! I made an appointment two weeks ahead of time for a set of snow tires on my one year old Tesla. No doubt I was a bit nervous as this is a new vehicle and the battery is underneath the car. The service writer that I got put me a complete ease saying they had done many of these. They had me in and out in 35 minutes and that was huge from my point of you. Today, Thursday 25 July 2024. I was on my way to the Illinois State Vehicle Emissions Testing Facility; 5 minutes into my drive my alert icon came on the dashboard advising all 4 of my tires required air. I drove to my favorite Discount Tire in Oak Lawn, Illinois. Carlos was our assistant this time. Carlos even recognized my husband since we have been with Discount Tires for 10 years. Discount Tires, over the years, took care of all of our replacement tires, all of our flats; all of our issues with tires. We depend on their assistance always. Carlos quickly pulled our car into the car port and filled each tire. Carlos even advised that my back tires were fine, but both front tires needed to be replaced. However, there was no pressure to act upon Carlos' recommendation. I was aware from the car dealer that my front tires needed replacement since last year. These guys are legit. Ask for Luke if you're in need, he was great! After getting a flat tire to end 2016(of course) on the highway I obviously was not in the best mood. I called these guys half hour before they closed and they said as long as I made it in before 6pm it wouldn't be an issue. Cool. I go in, and it's like 20 deep. I'm like oh fuck. Prepared for a fight, I had my battle face on. I was waiting for the moment (standing in line waiting for 4 people ahead of me to be serviced on for what seemed like eternity) for 6:00 to roll by as I stood there and tell me they couldn't help me. 10-15 min pass and Im helped out by Luke. I tell him what happens. I'm firm. Nothing is getting past me today, 0 games that day aka today. He tells me it's going to be some wait aka a long ass time and immediately I get in defense mode and I'm like look I called you guys before I'm sorry. He just looks at with the , "woah lady calm down, it's fine, claws back in please," look. Because basically guys, if you make it in by 5:59 they will take you no matter how long it takes. I'm not going to even complain to you about the wait because even though it took two hours having SO MANY PEOPLE AHEAD OF ME I couldn't complain given the day I had and I just needed this shit fixed before work the next day. Took a long time but I got what I needed. I had to get a few extra things done that I was stalling on. I knew I had to get my back tires replaced so I ended up replacing those too. All in all, I spent the same price another location quoted me for only two tires(3 replaced today) along with a wheel alignment. So I didn't feel so bad considering the most basic tire I asked for was 101.00 where this chick who owned an Infiniti paid over 320.00 for one tire alone. Shit really can be worse. These guys are pretty fast considering. Even though I waited a while they were always on top of it moving cars in and out every other 5-10 min or so they really just were that busy. I appreciate being taken seriously when it comes to my car. I didn't feel taken advantage of(problem I come across way too often handling my cars repairs alone)and service was pretty great. Really disappointed. Great initial service, paid for a warranty bc tires pick up nails and I drive a lot. Got a couple nails so I called to make an appointment and they said just bring it in. I did. Problem was I didn't have two hours to wait for a 15 min job. It's pretty far from my home, out of the way so I did this bc I didn't want to ruin a new tire.
