I made an online appointment and prepaid for tires on December 1, with an installation scheduled for 9:00 AM this morning -- two full weeks later. I planned this carefully around my work schedule. When I arrived on time for my appointment, I was told my tires were not in stock. There was no prior call, email, or warning. The only "solution" offered was to come back later in the day and have a different set of tires in a different size installed. That's not an acceptable substitute when I paid in advance and scheduled specifically for the tires I ordered. This was a complete waste of my time and felt incredibly disrespectful. If Discount Tire cannot manage inventory for prepaid appointments, customers should be notified before they take time off work and show up expecting service. Simply the best Had routine tire rotation scheduled but upon inspection with Justice my one tire was pass point of safe driving capability. Even though I wasn't expecting to pay for 4 brand new tires, it was way better than blowing tire out while driving and causing harm to myself and possibly to someone else. The right front tire on my car was damaged in an accident late on a Saturday night. The tire rim was bent all the way to the center. I put the spare tire on and made an appointment for Monday morning. When I arrived I explained to them that I work in a busy hospital ER and I was scheduled to work that afternoon. Tommy explained to me my options and I decided to get a new set of tires because of the mileage already on them. A driver was sent to get my order instead of waiting for the delivery truck. The tire warning light went off in my car. I stopped at Discount Tire and spoke to Anton Krause the senior assistant manager. I asked how long the wait was and that my husband was in the hospital. He put air in the tire and told me there was a screw in the middle of it. I couldn't wait at that time. Came back on Monday and he took me right away and I was back on the road with no charge. I've always had great experiences in the past at Discount Tire. I recently bought $800 worth of tires at one of the Kalamazoo locations and the service was above and beyond. I brought my car in to the Novi location for a rim leak and to get my tires rotated and balanced before the holidays. They eventually fixed the rim leak, but Assistant Manager Dan LeCureux told me they could not rotate my tires unless I bought new lug bolts for $50. I asked him to show me and, although the socket fit, he said he would not be able to authorize the service unless I paid. I ended up ordering the bolts on Amazon for $20 and made a return appt. I arrived 30 mins before my appt at 12:45, but it is now 1:40 and my car still has not been pulled in. UPDATE: it is now 2:15 and my car still has not been pulled in... read more

I purchased tires and had them installed at this store months ago and the time rolled around for a tire rotation. I love that there are lifetime warranties on the tires and they're priced pretty fair based on market value and I have been a loyal customer to discount tire for almost 10 years. Today I went in for my tire rotation and the store is under remodel, the amount of cars waiting told me I would probably have a wait for my rotation to be done (which is completely fine). My car took about 3.5 hours to be done and I walked in for this service, so I really can't complain there because first come first serve in between scheduled appointments. I picked up my car and drove home, half way through the drive my tire pressure light kicked on which is weird cuz these are basically brand new tires still. I check the pressure on all 4 and my two driver side tires are overfilled and my passenger ones are low... same exact value on each pair of tires. Not exactly sure what happened but doesn't really make me feel secure or trusting of whoever did my rotation if they can't even realize there's a 10 PSI difference in the sides of my vehicle. Imagine if I didn't know better or trusted that the light may have been a fluke after they completed their services, I'd have worn my tires unevenly or risked popping one. Not entirely satisfied with this visit, although my first visit went without a hitch. read more

The place used to be great. Not anymore. I bought brand new front tires last year. So they are not old. I just do basic driving, work is 10 miles round trip. Earlier this year I had to get new tire pressure monitors on the front tires, about 3 months from this writing. The machine that measures tire depth had them at 7 at this time. So the tires are just over a year old and they are at 7. I go in today to see if I hit a nail or something, because the tire was low. Now it is at a 1, cannot be serviced, must buy new tires and the kicker is; It's your alignment so it's your fault. There is nothing wrong with the alignment on the car. I've even show paper work from a mechanic that shows that. The computer is wrong they will tell you. So they say I have spend over $500 again to get new continental tires, which are supposed to last a long time. Somehow in 3 months they went from 7 to 1 and it's my fault because the car is not aligned. Yea ok. Oh and just a side note, there is nothing wrong with the lug nuts, they ALWAYS say they are swollen and need to be replaced every time you go. It's so annoying. read more

Wow! I just wanted to have my stored winter tires. wheels installed! Round one: Had a 2pm appointment to have tires swapped for winter. Arrived at 1:48pm and got the front of the line at 2:15pm. During check in process, I advised that I had a 3:30 appointment - to set my expectations and time restictions. At 3:15 my car was still in the parking lot. Asked to have my keys back of which the manager argued with me "but your car is next...". I left at 3:25pm (after I had a 2pm appointment) and hurried to my next appointment. Round two: Returned for a 9:30am appointment the week after and allowed a lot of time for the tires to be installed. All good, I had the tires swapped. The bad news was all was good minus one mounting bolt (German built car). They stripped one wheel mounting bolt!!! They advised that my car was still very safe to drive (FALSE) and had to make another appointment with another company to get re-threaded! Seriously?! First, I was speechless that the stripped a mounting bolt, I have to take more time to drop off at another company now....and lastly they claimed it was "safe to drive". Not safe...and missing a wheel mounting bolt will cause rotor warping with braking! I'm sure I won't hear from this store or corporate to discuss my experience. Pretty bad experience. read more

Just to set the tone, I cannot recommend Discount Tire Novi enough! I stopped by Discount Tire once when I heard they were having a special on winter tires. At the time, I needed to get winter tires for my car as it shipped with summer tires. I went in and spoke with Ben, who was very helpful in pointing out what he thought would be the best option for me. He was able to relate to my situation as he too had owned a Subaru WRX in the past, and he recommended tires that, surprisingly were the cheapest option, not the most expensive that I predicted I'd end up getting sold. Ben was also able to get me a great set of wheels for the tires at a great discount, and helped me through the process very well. The wheels and tires served me quite well throughout the winter. Much later on, the following summer when I had a low pressure reading on one of my normal tire/wheels, it looked like I had a busted Tire. Discount Tire staff was really helpful in not overselling me and recommending a replacement, in fact they fixed the tire for free and had me back on the road soon after! Seriously, these guys are great. The one issue is that because this store is run very well and the staff is super helpful, they have plenty of business and can get pretty busy. If you have the luxury of time and aren't in an urgent situation, make sure to make an appointment, as they can get backed up for hours or even days during the busy seasons. read more

My car tire pressure on the rear wheels keeps dropping after filling it. I stopped on Monday morning to check if there is nails or some damage. Sean quickly gathered the details and said it might take evening to complete as they are packed with appointment. I said fine and waited there for my ride. I got the text message about status in waitline. I hope it would have been another 40 minutes I got text message that my vehicle is in the bay and being worked. Another 20 minutes I got message that work is completed. Got my work completed than expected. The guy from the service station got the vehicle near the front entrance to hand over the keys and mentioned that there is some corrosion and fixed it. i made an appointment online for 11am this morning.....i arrived 15 minutes before my appointment.....i was under the impression that my vehicle would be taken in and serviced in a timely manner....yet here i sit an hour later and my car is still waiting to be serviced......when i went up to inquire about the wait.....the salesperson informed me he had one more car in front of me....he also told me my appointment was scheduled for 11:15....(as if that is suppose to placate me) at that point i pulled out my phone to show him the confirmation for 11am......from there it went downhill.....i have been a faithful customer for over 20 years.....what i have observed (phone ringing incessantly while the sales force sat in their little office) & experienced (over waiting an hour for service & disrespect) has me thinking that it may be time to try belle tire or some other tire store...... update......once they finally took my car in...it was serviced in less than 15 minutes.....not sure what exactly was done.....but the salesperson assured me that he personally supervised the work.....that all the tires were checked for leaks and found no leaks.....we'll see.....the verdict is still out..... read more

Went in at 4:45pm today, they close at 6pm. Had a screw in my tire that was leaking, told STEVE that I did not mind waiting because I did not have an appointment. Told him I needed to have it fixed because my wife and our newborn were in the truck. He told me that I could not even get my spare put on because they already had too many cars to deal with today and they were not going to get out on time. I then questioned him on this new policy. I stated that I had worked previously for the company for nearly 5 years and we never turned down any customer before closing time. Especially one with such an emergency. Not sure where Steve's values lie, no compassion, no integrity. In my eyes he has no business working for a company of that stature. I spoke to Jeff H. (store manager) regarding tires I found online earlier in the week, he said I can come in on Saturday a little before they close to install them. He was able to price match them and give me $200 store credit for my slightly used tires to apply towards my new tires. He helped me test fit larger tires to make sure they don't rub. He also informed me that since I'm upgrading to AT BFGKO2 E load it is 10-ply and it will ride rougher, but since I did my research I knew what I was getting into. Overall the service was excellent. Everyone was very friendly including the techs who installed my tires. We've bought tires from Discount Tires before(not this location) and they were always very helpful the same goes for this location. We will definitely continue to be repeat customers. read more

The customer service is outstanding however I have experienced less than average work. A couple years ago I had to take my car to the dealer as Discount Tire in Novi stripped a lug nut. Had to not only pay for the stripped lug nut to be removed but paid for all nut lug nuts. Had my winter tires put on and found that I have incredibly different torque settings on each lug nut. From 50 ft lbs to well over 150 ft lb on others. One lug nut was stripped AGAIN!!! In addition, I have scratch marks in the wheels now where the tech was going fast with the air gun like a NASCAR tire changer!!
