I currently have 4 vehicles riding on discount tires. In fact, I've been using them since 1999, so yeah two decade long customer. I'm slamming this location with 1 star and seriously questioning my dedication to their chain. The sales tactics have become rather aggressive! Purchased a used car and was experiencing vibration at highway speeds so I called discount and got a quote over the phone, $40 for lifetime balance. Now I don't really need a lifetime guarantee for a balance on used tires - but what the hay, been using these guys forever. After inspecting the tires I was advised the font tires are "completely shot and need to be replaced immediately". THAT is the reason for your vibration and thank goodness we caught it before you paid for a wheel balance. Very dangerous situation, those need to be replaced right away. Well , I left to return another day later because they didn't have stock and instead decided to drive 1/4 mile down the road for a 2nd opinion at the big box discount store because the front tires looked OK to me. Big box store was friendly, finished in 35minutes, and charged at total of $15.52 for the 4 wheel balance. Ironically, the technician told me the 2 rear wheels were way out of balance - LOL to discount tire opinion!!! I've attached photos of both front tires so you can make your own judgement. read more

Had a large bolt jammed in my tire and the guys at Big Brand Tire responded immediately and I was able to bring my car in the same morning! Every guy there was extremely respectful and tended to the tire immediately upon my arrival. The tire was fixed within 10 minutes and during that time I was able to speak with Ken who was super informative on possible quoting options for future repair. To top it all off, patching a tire or swapping the spare is completely FREE of charge, not a single penny out of my pocket! MY VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED BY THIS LOCATION, please hear my warning prior to coming to this Discount Tire. I have been a long time customer to this location and haven't had any issue till today. After getting two brand new tires from the location to replace my front wheels I was advised by the assistant manager "Brennan" that my vehicle was good to go. An hour later at my home I find that my tire is flat and I take it back to the shop only to be told that my wheel is damaged (Which was not disclosed to me prior to me leaving the first time) Carlos who is the manager of this location admitted to me that this should've been caught by their "Tire Experts" but are not going to be liable for the damage. They have a plaque in the store about integrity being number one, well today showed me that this location does not practice what they preach. I urge everyone to go to the Country Club and Baseline location if they would like something done correctly. read more

I have been waiting here for three hours only to watch other walk-ins be serviced before me. I came in for a flat tire. Maybe about 5 customers after I was checked in with the same issue was serviced before me. The rep said there were other appointments before me and others were checked in before me as well. So how did the other walk-ins get serviced before me. After three hours they finally took my vehicle in the bay. Status on the website states still waiting on service. Not really sure what's going on. Maybe because it's a rental. They now tell me that they are waiting on approval from hertz to replace the tire and it will take a few more hours. This is after four hours. I approached the counter to ask them why it's taking so long. Logan R in the San Tan Valley Store is terrible. I used to love DT before my last visit. He would not look at my tire that leaks air. Said "oh there nothing in it. It's normal to leak air every month." Funny I have 2 vehicles and only 1 tire that needs attention. DT has tried to fix it in the past but it is still leaking. Then I told him I was interested in new tires, Yokohama, Nitto and Pirelli. He said "Pirelli doesn't make an All Terrain tire." Funny, their website has one. I went as a walk-in to replace 2 front tires around 4p on Sept 20 at the baseline location. I previously had 2 replaced back in April via appt and it was a good experience. As soon as I entered I was the next customer in line and it was as if the air got sucked out of the lobby. There was one guy helping a customer in the middle and another called for help so there were 3 red shirt employees at counter. All avoiding eye contact with me. One finished and instead of taking me, started talking with the employee in the middle. Another asked if anyone was picking up instead of taking me. The far left employee looked to be logging in to computer and I looked over to see if he was ready and walked over. As soon as I told him I was walk-in he immediately placed me on wait-list and I was told it would take 1h 30m for whole process. He said he had to get other customers and I was next in line (I was indeed next in line--I was first). I sat down and other customers who had arrived behind me picked up cars or items. 3 more calls were taken by 2 red shirt employees at front and through app I saw my position in line go from 9 to 12 in 20m. But I was supposed to be next in line and the customers had died down. No one checked on me and I was ignored while the few customers who did entered being helped. Till finally, I said they seemed busy and I'd schedule online. I was the only black guy in the shop at the time. All employees were white red shirted guys. As I was leaving the guy who placed me on wait-list had the nerve to say, "sorry." Went to get my tires filled after my TPMS light went off. Tim kindly let me know that I had picked up 2 nails, 1 in each rear tire. One tire was at 15 psi and the other had little to no air in it. It was 30 minutes before close, with a ton of people waiting for service. I let him know I could come back in the morning. Tim recommended I stay, he would get me in & patch my tires so I could drive home safe, (despite having to stay late). Very wholesome experience & shows where the heart of the team is. Ben was amazing. I always have good service at this Discount but Ben truly went out of his way to check me in (even though it was a busy day before a holiday) was happy and smiling the entire time. I came in initially to patch my tire that was patchable. They ripped my tired and told me I had only two options buy a tire for 160 or buy a used one that was a wrong size for 75. I am very upset because I came in for something was a quick fix. The person who helped me out was named Tyler. I had to waste three hrs of time and went to get another time somewhere else for Tyler to only tell me he was going to charge me an installation fee. I am very upset cuz at least what they could've done is put the tire for no fee. read more

Went in on my lunch and was out & back to work before my estimated time to be out the door. Connor was quick to help me and get me on the schedule, I gave him my keys and they pulled it in shortly after. Quickly finished up and let me know everything looked great and they dunked my previously low tire just as a precaution and courtesy. What SERVICE Came here because I had a flat. I told my service guy that I had a flat and used the Green Slime to get my car here. He told me the Green Slime was not good for my tire sensors. Any how when I asked him how much he said FREE !!! Can you believe that ?? The service guy removed the tire, clean the tire (remove the green slime), repair the tire, balanced the tire and reinstalled the tire all for FREE !!! This is my favorite location, they are typically busy, but they are quick and focused on customer service. My last visit was a little different than the usual tire rotation or air fill, I had an issue with a tire and had been considering a wheel and tire package. John and Trevor helped me do some research on fitment and sizing, I told them what I was wanting and they provided a quote, found me some rebates and we were able to find the perfect wheel package. I'm very happy with the outcome and thankful for their help. They do sell some higher end wheel options you just have to ask or have an idea of what you want. I've been going to Discount for decades due to their customer service. This place is a no go. Made a 3:30 appt. Got there at 3:30 and was told someone would be right with me. 30 min later, no one had seen me and my car was untouched. When I inquired, I was told they were on a 3-hour wait. You didn't think you should tell me that before I waited 30 min WITH an appt? This appt option seems a lot like a baiting tactic to get people in with no intention to actually honor appt times. I couldn't believe how nice the people here were. The waiting area was clean with bottled water in a fridge while you wait and a selection of magazines to read. I have been to MANY stores where they try to up sell and pressure me to pay for more than I need. The man working explained they would check my tire and patch it for FREE. He said if it needed to be replaced, he would go over the different tires and prices and would show me the best for my money. I appreciated the honesty and transparency so much! I am giving five stars only because I can't give more as there are only 5. I have used Discount Tire for the past 25 year's on every vehicle, piece of equipment I've ever needed to put tire's on. But I was most impressed at the Baseline Rd location in Mesa AZ as Brett and all the other team members exercised some of the most professional teamwork I've observed in many year's, in fact it easily Rivalled my own business of 30 plus year's. I am not easily impressed, but I was while at this stores location. Even know they were non stop busy with customers, phone's ringing of the desk's, shop buzzing with sounds of impacts impacting I was still not rushed in my questions asked and conversation about the 4 tire's I was purchasing. Patient, respectful, professional and friendly not to mention the least expensive for these four tires out of 5 other rival businesses. I always call, even know they've never been beaten in price, professionalism or quality. So my thanks to the guy's out in the shop working like a pit crew flawlessly and accurately (I was a mechanic most of my life, so I was impressed and I'm not easily impressed) precise and speedy! We just bought the truck yesterday and this afternoon, my husband and son were stranded on the freeway with a flat tire. So my husband took the tire to discount and Connor was able to assist him with the tire. The low pressure light was not off so my husband turned back around. Tires seem fine and the price was on par with other quotes, my low review is due to a grimed-up interior and unauthorized rotation. First issue: my front tires were worn so i asked them to put new tires on the front wheels. Without asking me, they decided to replace the worn tires but then rotate those to the rear. nothing terribly wrong with that except they never asked me to do that. Second issue: After the whole process was done, i get into my car and discover that mr. grimey hands tire guy decided it was cool to get grease all over my door upholstery as he had opened the door to get out. My car is nothing special but I can't imagine what a guy with a nicer car would do....maybe people with nice cars go to shops where the workers care..? Seems like the higher-ups are caring there, they just need to implement a system with the workers that will keep the interiors clean. read more

Had a hole in my tire and they got me in right away to patch it. Called me a few hours later saying that they stripped my lug nuts and had to have my car towed to get them re-threaded. Had to pick it up the next day and they didn't charge me anything. A month later my wheel was making noise so I took it to get checked somewhere else. They asked who replaced my lugs because they bent my rotor and it seemed to be very beaten. I am now having to go through way more repairs for damages caused by discount tire or wherever they towed it to. I was understanding and trusting in them, but I now know not to trust them. Please be aware that a quick fix with them can turn to a huge issue in the future. read more

Most of all, they did not try to talk me out of getting the least expensive tires they had, but accepted my request with questions. The men who installed the tires were also quick and efficient, getting to my car and finishing installing and balancing my tires sooner than I expected.
