I had a mixed feeling about Discount Tire stores. I saw this store right next door to Philips 66 gas station and OnCue convenient store a while ago. I never thought I would actually shop here. This was the day after I got a quote from previous Discount Tire near my house. I went home to Google my resources. The tires were recommended was based on my previous brand. Because I bought them from somewhere with limited brand selection, I chose Goodyear. After reading the reviews on many sites, I chose Yokohama tires. They're less expensive compared to Continental and Goodyear but similar quality. I was only asking if I can get my tires replaced at this store. Johnnie was the salesperson I dealt with. He wanted to replace my tires right there right now. Wait. Wait. Wait. I was not ready. So, I said I have to go to work at 1:30. He said they could install 4 tires in 15 minutes. Eh? That's fishy. Google said it takes 10 minutes per tire. So, I made an appointment to come back next day. Five minutes before my appointment, he called me but didn't leave a message. I was already in the parking lot. Transition was really quick. After I paid for the service, he took my car key. Forty-five minutes later, I got a text message that my car was ready for pick up. There were little said from him, other than thank you and goodbye. I guess I have to read about warranty and service agreement online or somewhere. Update: removed one star because the low tire pressure light came on 6 days after installation. I was told they don't install TPMS in the tires. Service counselor pressed the reset button and it went away. Few days later, all my warning lights came on. The VW dealership said it could be Tire Speed Monitor cable is bad. I took it back. Andrew said "we don't touch that" and referee me to another garage to have it checked. read more

During my search for new tires, I was presented with many great options and I was offered the best price available compared to everything else available in the market. The price was very competitive and I was able to get 4 new tires, a wheel alignment, and a new set of wipers, all at an affordable price. My new tires were at the warehouse, so I had to wait one business day before I was able to get my tires but it was well worth the wait since I got an amazing package deal, I was helped by Jonathan and Andrew, both of whom offered great customer service and really listened to what I had to say and needed. Love this location and the only location I come. Most people are nice and services are good, but couldn't give a 5 because of these 2 things: 1) if I come with a low tire light on then I expect the light to go away once it's fixed. Multiple of times I have to come back the 2nd time because of the sensors are bad. Why would they not check that at the same time? Discount Tire is conveniently within walking distance from my job which has been an ongoing blessing to me for years. Anytime I've had a flat, I've been able to switch to my spare and make arrangements to drop my car off there (if it happens on a weekday). The staff is always attentive and responsive. I just had to drop my car off yesterday and expressed that I realized I probably need to purchase a couple of tires but only want to focus on that one tire until after I return from vacation. I mean they are pretty accommodating considering I wanted them to talk to my Dad the whole time I was getting recommendations on the tires I needed. I have been to many experiences where the minute I call my Dad they get irritated. I'm not at all sure of the parts and right parts to buy so I am dependant on my Dad. I was told by a coworker that my front tire was bald and pretty bad. I knew I had to replace that tire but was told I should replace all four. Now, I definitely felt they would try to get me to purchase more than one but not all four. I ended up buying the two tires and they balanced and rotated the tires. The price was very fair and competitive. Also, when you go to buy your tires they show you a range of inexpensive to more expensive tires to choose from and the differences and advantages of the different brands. It did take close to two hours for service which is fine. They are competitive in price so they are very busy. They have seating inside and outside the shop. read more

I called all over to get an alignment done on my truck, my truck is just leveled and not too lifted, over the phone it was stated that they could do an alignment with no issue, as long as I made it before 4:00 pm, I drove from the opposite end of the city just for them to come out and say they wouldn't (not that they couldn't) do the alignment because they're still getting used to doing alignments. I understand to an extent, but it definitely should've been explained over the phone so I didn't have to drive 40 min away just to get turned around. read more

I made an appointment to have my tires rotated and balanced at 8:00 am. Just so you know, I don't think the appointment means anything here or at any discount tire locations. If you go to the website, you can always make an appointment for at least two hours ahead. Anyway, long story short, I came in at 8:00 on the dot when they're supposedly open, but there were already eight customers ahead of me (this was on a Saturday) and I still had to wait for their cars to get worked on before they actually worked on mine. When the guy that was helping me out inspected my car, I told him that I had a bump on the front driver side tire and a tear on the sidewall of my front passenger side tire and that I had road hazard warranty so I wanted them replaced. However, the guy did ask me; Since the tear was mostly cosmetic, if I wanted to just repair it or warranty it out? Well, DUH! Of course I want to warranty it out!! Don't get me wrong, he was very professional and courteous the whole time. I just can't imagine anyone who would just have the tire repaired vs. replaced. They have free bottled waters and plenty of chairs in the waiting area. The restroom is also reasonably clean. Remember when I said that there were eight customers ahead of me? I was out by 9:00 am. So I spent about an hour. They worked pretty quickly. Most discount tire companies I've been to have been very professional. this one is no exception. However, I do notice that this location is busier compared to the one on Westheimer and Jeanetta. Usually when I go to the Jeanetta one on a Saturday, there's barely any customer there at opening time. So if you're just looking for a quick in and out, the Jeanetta location might be a better option for you. It's not that much farther East from this location on Westheimer inside the Beltway. I particularly selected this location because I checked online and it showed that they had my tires in stock. If I had gone to a different location that didn't have them in stock, I would have to wait much longer. So, if you know you're going to be replacing your tires, check the stock online first. Last Friday, I was coming home from a morning errand and noticed that my daughters tires and rims had all been stolen and the car was sitting on cement blocks! Awful!!!! After calling 911, notifying our community manager, taking off from work, calling insurance (this incident was NOT covered), and getting my mind right, my quest was on for a tow company to tow a vehicle with no tires or rims, and somewhere to purchase tires and rims with a safe and efficient install! Discount Tire on Westheimer was my first and only call. I've purchased tires from them before for my car, and have ALWAYS had great service. John answered, was super nice, compassionate, informative and unbelievably efficient. He took some info from me regarding the car and then offered to call me back with detailed info on what was available tire and rim-wise. He literally called me right back! He gave me prices for the original rims on the car (waaaay out of my price range) and also the option of after-market rims (he had me look them up online to see what he was talking about) and pirelli tires with installation and all that came with. The difference in pricing was unreal and clearly I went with the latter and best option. He said he'd greet the tow truck driver and the car would be finished by the close of business that day! And, he and the Discount Tire team at this location delivered!!!! I have NEVER had anything but a WONDERFUL experience at this location of Discount Tire!! Everyone is warm and charming and friendly, is a great communicator, does great work efficiently, and creates a memorable experience! This was a sucky scenario considering the stolen car parts and the out of pocket expense and trouble right before the holidays but John and the Discount Tire team certainly turned it into a positive! They did Tire rotation, balancing and alignment. I ended up with missing center caps. When I called up to report, I was told upfront that it fell off the street. Well, had the mechanic who did those services did properly re-attach my center caps and been not careless and did no shortcuts for a quick turnaround (place was quite full that day), I am sure my wheel parts are still intact. It's a small thing but I am trying all I can to preserve the original content of my cars or else I'll end up buying worthless and costly replacement pieces because of their thoughtlessness. I will never recommend this branch in 10700 Westheimer Rd Houston, TX 77042-3404 or you may end up spending more to replace your wheel parts that I will say will not end on other side of the fence or will not end up in e-Bay. Always been happy going here. Colin is excellent and his job and always seems to be in a great mood. Fast, friendly and never feel like I'm getting taken advantage of (hate to have to say that). COVId UPDATE- popped in today for a patch, pandemic adjustments have changed the way they operate but the customer experience was still excellent. Came to the location and was pleasantly surprised with the initial sales guy, he was friendly, and knowledgeable about the tire selection process. We narrowed it down to a couple tires, pretty routine I felt. Unfortunately it was down to the very expensive and the cheapest one. I unfortunately went with the cheap option.... my fault. Let me explain: see if you are unfamiliar with Houston freeways they grooves on the freeways to silence road noise down however they are devastating to drive on with cheap and knobby tires (lesson learned). With every discount tire they offer "no hassle" return policy for 30 days. So I graciously called them up to schedule a tire swap where the same original salesman would answer and take care of all the accommodations for an appointment (shout out to the only reason they got 1 star). I pulled up for my appointment thinking it would be seamless, NOPE. They were total bait and switch alert. Not only were the tires and certificates surprisingly MUCH more expensive than originally quoted, I was very surprised at the unprofessional and rude customer service I was provided when I arrived to swap the tires. I had to explain the entire sequence of events to "Kevin" aka mr personality. He could have looked into the system to see everything was already there. No double explanation needed and we could have spoken more about the overcharge. Long story short when I was asked how the bill had increased from what I was told , I received a half ass answer and a blank stare like I had been speaking Spanish for the last 30 seconds of the conversation. I was 10 minutes into a 2 hour drive when my tire popped in the middle of the highway. I pulled off and managed to get my spare donut put on with the help of a small auto shop while I called around. I ended up in this discount tire where Johnny was absolutely pleasant and efficient. He was able to give me a nice discount on new tires. They immediately sent someone out to pick up my new tires and I was back on the road an hour after arriving, including the time to pick up the tires. Discount Tire is pretty much the tire place you should take your car to whenever you need to get new tires. They always have a good selection of tires for your car, no matter what size of the car or the size of your rims. If the store you're at doesn't have it, they can check the near by inventory from their system. The price of the tires are very good as it could varies from cheap price to more expensive price. However, this location's customer service may need a few improvements. I bought my sedan in after knowing that I need 2 of my rear tires to be replaced as the treads are very, very low. I make everything quick by taking off my car key from my keychain, have the wheel lock ready, and even told him my account phone number to search it up. The first thing that I find odd was I requested to put the 2 new tires in the front and move the good tires that was in the front to the rear. The service guy told me it is NOT RECOMMENDED to do that because you would want to put good tires where it needed to be replaced. My car is a front wheel drive and I know I would rather have good tires in the front in order to have better braking and traction. I guess they just don't want to do the extra labor even though they weren't that busy in the middle of the weekday. When everything was finished, I drove off without double checking. About a week later, when I was about to go out for grocery shopping, I sometimes double check my tires to see how the pressures are, but I notice that 2 of the caps on my right side only are missing. So I first took the car back here and requested to get new caps and re-check the air pressure since I been driving it without caps, and I'm sure some airs leaked out by then. They were fairly quickly about that as they have one section of the garage just for air check and air pump. But you have to get in line by driving it up right away or else the next person will simply drive up as first come, first serve even though I checked in at the front desk first. I got frustrated so I parked my car right behind the guy who took my spot then got out and stood there. The manager came out and apologize for not explaining me how to get in line or something. He personally took my car and drive it up to the garage and did all the air check and add in the caps. Then my car was good to go and I pulled out. But now I am going to double check as their customer service lacked on putting in caps the first time and sure enough, they only put in 1 new cap for the right rear tire but not the front right tire. I asked for another cap as they didn't put this one and they finally put a new cap on. Needless to say, I don't think I'll come back to this Discount Tire store and go to another one whenever I need to get new tires. I even showed up earlier than my appt & didn't have to wait to be greeted. Juan was very professional & explained everything to me, which I appreciate very much. After visiting another store to replace my tire, I had to come to this location since the other location couldn't get the tire in until 3PM. I gave them the receipt from the other store to verify my pickup, but they still decided to call the original store to find out why I needed the replacement tire. I don't know about you, but I was a little perturbed by that question. I need a new tire because the last one went flat on me and I paid the warranty my tires. Nothing else to discuss! After they contacted the original store transaction, everything was smooth. I did overhear that an employee pulled the wrong tire for me, so I just had the technician show me that the new tire was like the old tires. Overall, decent service. read more

Top notch tire shop in the Westchase area. I've had nothing but good experiences and I will keep coming back. Whatever you do, get the warranty with their tires. It runs like $15-20, but it's worth it for getting the tires patched, fixed, or replaced for free if you get an unexpected flat. On my most recent visit, I swung by to get a worn out tire replaced. The guy took a quick look, got me a quote on a comparable tire, and told me they could get me in and out within an hour. I went across the street to kill some time at the Dunkin Donuts. Shoutout to Nick and all of the people that helped me today with entire tire coverage fiasco! You guys just earned a lifetime customer, I initially came in with wear and tear on both of my tires with one being in hazardous condition. I originally bought a tires and wheels coverage from the dealership Expo Motorsports (bad choice) for literally 10x the price of what discount was offering. Long story short, we had to fight with the warranty company that Expo uses for 6+ hours and they got everything covered afterwards. Your employees fought for my coverage and I'll always be thankful. Great store but avoid Kevin.He has no clue about his product nor the handling of customers. We went in to have some customer wheels installed. He first told us we needed hub rings, which upon investigation, we absolutely true. We obtained what we needed and then this same individual argued with us about lug pattern, which we knew very good and well, was no issue, as we had already mounted a wheel on the car, just to get a look see. He told us "Good luck with your wheels" in a tone which should have been addressed, but felt it better to walk away. We had the wheels mounted, balanced, new TPMS installed at the Kirkwood Discount Tire - zero issues. Come on Kevin...at least a broken clock is right twice a day. read more
