Awesome customer service here! Been coming to Discount Tires for 20+ years. Our first time at their new store since they moved from Solana Beach site. Made an online appointment for a tire repair. Showed up and they helped me right on time. They checked my tire and found no leak in tire. But did notice some tire rim issues where the leak is probably occurring. Riley showed me my rim (and I was able to give the info to my mechanic or buy new rim, yes!). Great care and customer service! He is the nicest person!! They reseated my tire. I was in/out in 20 minutes. Tire inspections and repairs are free. I still get their certificates for piece of mind. And I've gotten a giant bolt in my tire in the past, and everything was covered with certificates (new tire). Restaurants and stores within walking distance while you wait. read more

New location . I've been going to their Solana Beach location for years and have always been satisfied with their staff, quality of tires ans value , and service . Went to their Del Mar location to get a new tire . This location is a tad smaller , but I like the layout . When you walk in the customer service desks are right there. Bright and clean, great playlist ! Space to sit inside and out . New location and same great service and quality and great on the pocket book too ! read more

My Go-To Tire Spot Just Got an Upgrade Baby!! Location: My favorite Discount tire relocated to a beautiful new spot in Del Mar near the I-5 freeway, and you seriously can't miss it. It's right by other convenient businesses like Gelson's Market, a gas station, eateries, and Whole Foods across the street. Perfect if you want to grab groceries while your car gets some TLC. Parking and Accessibility: Way more parking than the previous location! That's a huge plus already! Super easy access off the I-5 and you can see their sign clearly and visibly. You can't miss it. No getting lost here! Ambiance: The new location is bigger, brighter, and freshly renovated. The waiting area is clean and open with plenty of seating. They also have nice restrooms which is a detail I appreciate more when you're waiting on car service. Speedy Service: They text you reminders and updates, which I love. My last visit was supposed to take about an hour, but they finished in 20 minutes! It may have been my lucky day, but for a Saturday afternoon, I can't complain. Customer Service: Always 5 STARS!!! Huge shoutout to their manager, Gerry (my go-to guy from the Clairemont days!) and the team who are always welcoming and reassuring. They really give me peace of mind and I trust them with their work and ethics. I can count on them for discounted tires, tire inspections, and any other miscellaneous issues you may have. Overall: I've been coming here for years and keep coming for a reason. The team is professional, honest, and never pushy about sales. Wait times are usually shorter than expected. KUDOS to that! This brand new location opened December 2025 and replaces the Solana Beach location. It has a nice large lobby. Not the most seating inside, but lots of outlets and space. There are also many other businesses and places to get food in the adjacent strip mall. Service was excellent and fast and the location was not too busy. Maybe please don't come here. I like that it's not very busy yet! read more

I recently discovered a nail in one of the tires on my vehicle. The vehicle and tires are less than a year old. The nail was fairly close to the sidewall but the tire was still holding air. While at Costco on a shopping run, I had the tire techs there check the tire to see if it could be repaired. They said it was too close to the sidewall. Since it is an AWD vehicle, if one tire needs to be replaced, they all must be replaced to avoid damage to the AWD system. Although just under a year old, the tread wear on the existing Continental tires was just beyond the limit for mixing in a new tire. So I ordered a new set of Michelin Defenders at Discount Tire. When I arrived at the shop for installation, I told the tech about the issue. He looked at the tire and said he'd take the bad tire off first and check to see if it was safe to repair before finalizing the purchase and installation of all new tires. 15 minutes later he returned to tell me the nail turned out to be some sort of construction tack with a stem about 1/4" in length. It didn't penetrate through the outer tread and didn't pierce the inner belts of the tire. So no repair or new tires were needed. It would have been easy for the tech to have gone into the shop, had a coffee, then come back and told me I still needed the new tires. But he didn't. This sort of honesty was great news for me but also good news for anyone shopping at the shop in Solana Beach. You can trust the guys at this shop. read more

Stopped by this newly opened location with a flat tire from my wife's car. Was greeted by a friendly person (Fernando) who went out the car to examine the tire. He said to leave it and they would fix it and call me when it was ready to be put back onto the car. Called me an hour later to tell me it was done. I was very impressed with such a efficient operation and friendly service. When I went to pay I was told there was no charge! I was amazed and shocked. Learned it is their policy. Always easy to get stuff done here. Had a screw in my tire, got in same day, needed two tires replaced, had in stock and was done within a couple hrs. They price match! So if Costco is less, they will price match. read more

I've been a long-time customer of Discount Tire, and this new location on Via de la Valle absolutely raises the bar. Discount Tire just upgraded their entire operation, and it shows. I recently picked up a set of Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s for my Mustang 5.0, and the experience was flawless from start to finish. I booked an appointment, showed up, and they were actually ahead of schedule--which almost never happens anywhere these days. I was in and out in 30 minutes or less. Kevin took care of me and was phenomenal. Professional, efficient, and clearly knows what he's doing. That kind of service is rare. And I've got to give credit to the manager, GERRY. I've known him from the old Lomas Santa Fe location, and he's been a consistent source of knowledge and trust over the years. Having someone like that running the shop makes all the difference. I previously left a 10/10 review for their old location, and I'm doing it again here--because they earned it again. Tires are one of the most important safety components on your vehicle. It matters where you go. This team doesn't cut corners--they focus on quality, speed, and doing things right. If you're in the area, support a shop that actually delivers. The Solana Beach location moved to Del Mar on Via De La Valle just east of Interstate 5. I went there this morning to have a flat tire fixed. I was in and out in just under 40 minutes. They fix flats for free. Everyone working there was polite and friendly. Great service and value. I have been a Discount Tire customer for many years and will continue to be one. read more

Good luck getting anyone to acknowledge you when you walk in the door. Initially when I walked in, someone did say that they'd be with me in a couple of minutes. However, he walked outside and the three employees behind their counters never looked up. I was the only customer in the lobby. I stood there for at least 5 minutes waiting. Then a male customer walked through the door and one of them asked if they could help him immediately. I won't go back there. read more
