Found out i was charged VW Dealer cost for an imitation Chinese aftermarket intake manifold that failed. prob a warranty fix, but not coming back, i'm pissed enough to have another shop do the work the RIGHT way with the CORRECT OEM Volkswagen/Audi revised intake manifold. i can no longer endorse this repair shop, sorry. read more

I went there on a lucky whim to see if I could have my car seen earlier than a scheduled appt at my dealership later on in the week but little did I know I would be seen and have my car returned same day, as well as save me hundreds. I was previously quoted a bigger job over a suspected malfunction in the light circuit board in which would cost hundreds on top of replacing my bulbs so I was really dreading to re-hear the bad news. My boyfriend Justin and I were looking to take our 2017 Audi Q7 to a local shop for an oil change. Being new to the area we needed a recommendation for a locally owned German Auto Specialty shop. My boyfriend started his search on Google and passed along a few shops for me to verify on Yelp where we ultimately decided on Select German-- and we are so happy we did. We called and were able to get an appointment almost immediately. We dropped the car off for a few hours while they did the oil change and a multipoint inspection and picked it up same day. When we picked up the car they told us we needed to get upper and lower control arm bushings and both engine mounts replaced. My boyfriend had known about the needed repairs but never had a shop be proactive and work with his extended warranty. Select German got the information for the warranty and completely organized the entire thing. They scheduled an inspector (from the warranty company) to come on site and worked with the warranty to get over $6000 of the ~$7000 repair covered by the warranty. In addition to the above, we got a transmission and brake fluid flush at the same time as the repairs which in total took a little less than 3 days to complete. When we picked up the car Select German had cleaned the car with their partnership with the detailer next door and gave us some yummy chocolates which we both have been enjoying lol. Everyone at the shop was friendly, accommodating, experienced, and really cool to talk to. My boyfriend found out that the management team, including the lead mechanic all own drifting race cars. This just solidified his confidence and trust in the shop and we will absolutely be coming back anytime we need anything done on the Audi. I took my G42 M240i to get a dinan axleback exhaust installed back in August. The installation took quite a bit longer than I expected as they ran into some difficulties getting it fitted correctly. I initially got a little frustrated over this, but upon speaking to them they gave me a loaner car free of charge until they were able to finish up. Additionally, they stayed true to the price they quoted me before starting the installation (3 hours of labor) even though it took much longer to get everything on correctly. The work they did was really great, car sounds sounds great too, and have had no issues with it since the installation. read more

Brought my Cayenne for the maintenance checklist and was impressed with the multi diagnostic check Select German Car Service (SGCS) performed. I was text and emailed the results and was able to approve or decline the priority service items. The service was completed in reasonable time and owning a Porsche it is never inexpensive but the value, customer service an attention to detail was five stars. They didn't try to oversell us and they even suggested putting off a non-eminent thing or two. Their prices are very fair especially compared to the dealer. I've been coming here for a few years now and this is the first year with any major work. It was smooth. They did the 55k inspection because it was due for my car and also my oil change. They explained the things that needed to be done and let me know which had biggest priority in order to help me decide if I wanted to do it now or later. This is the only shop I'll trust with my E350. I came in for a scheduled appointment to have my brakes, rotors, and sensors replaced because I noticed a slight squeak. I got a call letting me know my front brakes still have a few months of life left and were sitting at about 5mm. I'm really relieved to have found an honest mechanic who knows how to work on German cars. I walked away today without paying a cent for the inspection. HONEST SHOP, GOOD PEOPLE They took the time to hear my concerns, check it out (2 minutes) for their professional opinion, and gave me their two cents. With the experience I had with them I can tell this is an honest shop. I think I may have found my new shop! For them to give me two minutes of their time and their honesty speaks volumes and goes a long way for me. It's much appreciated. Was in the area and my steering wheel was making this barely noticeable squeak - can hardly hear it and only heard if wheel is turning left at 5mph or less. I immediately had an idea that it could possibly be 1) at the base of the steering shaft this rubber piece might be rubbing against some edge 2) might need steering fluid - but eliminating that because I'm on point with my maintenance and my steering wheel isn't hard to turn 3) need lubrication somewhere - also eliminating that because it's not coming from the engine bay. Also, not taking it to the bmw dealership - they be pulling people's noggen especially when you a female. My go-to bmw shop didn't care to give me 2 minutes of their ear just to listen and blew me off. But this place was closest to where I was and I came in and told them I need someone to just listen to something. It was hard to hear, we popped the trunk and no sound from the engine (super good thing), and we located the area of the sound but once they heard it they told me everything is fine, safe to drive, and if it gets worst to bring it in. What a relief! I didn't have tools to remove the trim panel to check myself while on the road and was going to dismantle and take a look at the shaft the following day. But I needed another opinion of the noise and it's possible severity. Luckily, couple hours later the noise went away and believe it was what I had suspected - rubber piece likely rubbing lightly against the edge. I hope to not have any big bmw jobs anytime soon, bmw maintenance isn't cheap. I can only imagine the cost of big jobs. read more
