Brought a 2018 vehicle here with original OEM tires. One of my tires had a 2 inch metal piece jammed into the outer side of the tire. I showed the front desk employee the situation and he said the tire is shot and that I would need to replace it. When I asked how much the tire costs, he said the tire isn't sold anywhere online anymore and it was discontinued. I found this hard to believe because the car is only one year old. He then told me I would need to replace all four tires which would cost over $1,000+. I left Discount Tire and drove over to Les Schwab in Mill Creek for a second opinion. A guy walked out, walked back into the garage to grab pliers, came back and ripped it out of the tire and said you're fine. He said he could tell it hadn't punctured anything so it was good to go. I've been driving on it for a month now and no issues; not even leaking air. I also checked the tire brand and model # on my car and it turns out there are plenty of OEM tires available for my car. The Discount Tire guy was looking up the wrong tire and advised me to replace all four. Always do your own research and get a second opinion. read more

At 13 At 1:30 after watching many cars go in and out and I am still waiting asked and he said we will have you done by. 2 pm then he had the nerve to say we are like dr. The last time we went down that pass we drove 20 miles an hour nervous the whole way and we weren't looking to repeat that. We purchased four new tires less than one month ago. Discovered one had a screw in it and stopped in to get it fixed. They wouldn't even confirm they had time to check the tire and if there was a problem it would be 2-4 hours wait to fix. They were closing in one hour so after waiting for 15 minutes a gentlemen came out to the car and said they couldn't even look at the tire today. Like everyone else I rushed out to get tires with the mention of possible snow, although truthfully I had been having a tire issue I also needed to address. I expected to wait a long time and made plans to drop off my car. The tires I had chosen were not available at another location but 7 were in stock at this one. The parking situation here was much better too. The line to talk to an employee was much shorter than the prior location I was at as well. The person behind the counter was super helpful. He listened to my concerns about my possible bad tire and assured me that he would readjust my internal tire pressure monitor. I was surprised how knowledgeable he was about my particular year and model of car. They alerted me that they were short staffed and that the wait would be 7 hours. I had figured it would be a long time since I know everyone else freaks out about snow like I do. I was a little concerned that they closed at 6, but they assured me they would make arrangements to leave the key in the car if needed and would call me to let me know when it was finished. At around 630 I started getting a little anxious that I may have missed a call and double checked that I hadn't, they assured me that they were going to get to my car soon and would stick to the plan of letting me know. I got notification it was ready to pick up shortly later, but was in the middle of something and couldn't come right away. Again they agreed to put the key in the car, but stated they would still be there a lot longer. I finally made it in to pick up my car around 9 pm and they were still in the garage working away on other cars. I can not imagine having such a long day and still greeting customers in a cheerful manner. I am sure they were not looking forward to an equally long day the next day. I think its great that they stay open late to help people prepare for snow. My only complaints are that they are not open on Sunday and that they close at 6 pm M-F and 5pm on Sat, this makes it really hard for dayshift people to get in and get stuff taken care of. I had been meaning to take the car in for a week to get the tires checked, but ended up having to take a day off to do it. read more

Discount Tires is the best! I've been buying my tires there since the late 80s. The prices have always been very competitive and more importantly, the customer service has been splendid. I found low tire last night, pumped up and found it low again this morning. When I called Discount, they made an appointment for me two hours after my call. My car was ready thirty minutes after I dropped it off!! Not only did they remove the offending screw, they rebalanced all four tires and rotated them for me. The customer service at this location is amazing! I truly felt like the workers went above and beyond for me. I called inquiring about the cheapest possible option for my car and mentioned that my tires are at the legal limit of tread. They told me my options and I had to schedule for a few days later for them to order the cheaper tires. I got a call back after scheduling and the worker told me that they don't want me to be driving on tires that are not safe. They ended up offering to get me in same day and give me the more expensive tires for the price of the cheaper ones because that's what they had in stock. He also price matched an online price from another retailer and did all of this with a great attitude. He is certainly one of the best in the tire business. I called Discount Tire to make an appointment early this morning, they were kind on the phone, although I had to wait over 9 minutes on hold to make the appointment. They got me scheduled and I checked in at 9:59am, for a 10:15am appointment... it is now 10:45am and I am highly confused on what is taking so long. people that don't even have appointments are coming here and leaving before me. They are ignoring me and talking about dogs with old ladies and flirting with young women, but nobody has apologized for the wait and instead of being considerate they all have a "my way or the highway" kind of mentality and it's like they are happy to throw it in my face that they are not servicing my vehicle. I asked the man who took the car back about the wait and he decided to grin in my face, like he's getting pleasure from my frustration... stating he'll get to it within the hour?! little do they know I called off of work to get this fixed for my veteran aunt. what horrible customer service!! uh.. thank you discount tire.. about a week ago our low profile tire blew.. 07 VW Rabbit 5 speed We took it into the Bothell location to have it fixed. Normally we wouldn't take it to a discount tire shop but rent happened about the same time, so.. Everything seamed fine until we drove it.. um.. At first there was a speed wobble, and within 24 hours the vibration became so extreme we could hardly drive it.. We tried to take it down to a different Discount tire to have it looked at and the wheel just flew off on the freeway (I-405) Apparently they forgot to tighten the lugs on the front driver side wheel which caused it to come loose at 70+mph and fly across 5 lanes of traffic. This is a MAJOR OVERSIGHT which could have resulted in INJURY or DEATH.. We are still dealing with the insurance claim, not sure how this is going to play out, but they are expected to compensate for EVERYTHING or this will in fact result in a lawsuit against them. Funny how we were expected to pay the $100 deposit for the rental car... im still confused about that one. read more

I know that you will occasionally run into a bad or dishonest employee, that's life. But really bad for business. Returned to this store, where I had purchased the tires, to get a slow leak repaired. The kid assigned to the job takes care of it but then tells me the tires are delaminating, that Discount Tire will not repair them anymore. His solution was to buy new tires. But worse he said the wheels were corroding and I would need to buy them also. Nope. 6 months later I'm in the market for new tires due to wear. Go back there and was told by the next kid there's nothing wrong with the tires or wheels. I asked if the last employee was either lying or incompetent and didn't know what he was talking about. Honestly, it has never before occurred to me to review a tire place. However, after the excellent service I received today, I simply had to! My tire went flat, they were able to schedule me an appointment within a day and had the tire to replace mine already there. Within 45 minutes they had the whole thing buttoned up and done. While that is all great, what really inspired me to review them is, as I was leaving, I noticed the light with the exclamation point was still on in my car, and as I turned around to park again to ask what was going on, a fellow from the shop read my actions and anticipated this. He ran out and kindly explained to me that the light would go off within 15 minutes of driving, as the car readjusted to the new pressure of the tire. Let me preface this with the fact that I had always been a "Schwab guy", keyword had. I had a blowout this past weekend and called Schwab to get a price on four new tires, I needed something inexpensive as I have a new baby and funds are tight right now and the cheapest price they could give me was $804.25 all said and done. Seemed steep to me so I called Discount tire and spoke with Andy Austin. I explained my situation and what happened. He said we'll get you set up for $400 all said and done. When I arrived he even went one step further and upgraded my tires stating "we can't have a new baby riding around on anything but the best". The guys in shop worked fast took 23 minutes to get the new tires on. The customer service and professionalism of Andy and this shop have made me a "discount tire guy" for life. read more

Steering wheel was shaking at 55 MPH to 60 MPH from out of balance, needed new tires anyway, was at 2/3 or 3/32, so figured new tires and balance would do it. Didn't fix the issue. Took it back the next day, tires were slightly off balance but that wasn't the issue, turns out my wheels were a bit out of round, they spend a good hour measuring it and they were able adjust the lowest part of the wheel with highest part of the tire, now this microscopic differences but it was enough! Now the drive is SUPER SMOOTH and QUIET, probably best it's ever been. Professional, courteous and honest guys! Highly recommended! Last note - one guy was less experienced and a more experienced one came over to help and figure out the issue. The newer guy was all ears and didn't let his ego get in the way and was solely focused on fixing the issue, great to see this type of attitude from both of them! read more

When we mentioned that we had an appointment the reply was, "we're busy today." I think they just take people in as they walk through the door. There are a few things in life that I avoid and dread. Replacing tires is one of those things. But, thankfully, Wifey and I live close to Discount Tire. One of my tires was cut and unable to be repaired. The other three were near splitting. All four had to be replaced. I was not happy. J.J. (the Assistant Manager) came out and met me next to my car, patiently listened while I grumbled and complained, and brought me into the showroom where he not only talked me down from the ledge, but helped me find a solution. Budget was a concern this time, so J.J. found a set of tires that worked for both the budget and the car. And he gave me a rebate! After hitting a curb and popping one of my tires heading into an interview (think I was slightly distracted?!) I headed into Discount Tire for a replacement. Unfortunately the tire I needed was a special order and was going to take 3-5 days to get... And the cost, $200. Real special tires apparently, thanks Subaru for picking the cream of the crop. It took 3 business days for the tire to come in. I made an appointment for first thing, when they opened at 8am. The guy (I think his name was Michael) came running out to assist. We went inside to do the paperwork. After seeing how many miles were on my car (the tires as well... Only 8k) Michael decided to call Yokohama to see if there was any warranty left. The way he spun it to the Yokohama people, I swerved to miss a road hazard. As a one time courtesy, they offered $50 off! What a great service to me, and so appreciated his efforts to make that phone call! $50 bucks is $50! I gave up Schwab years ago, and on a day like today I'm glad I did! Awesome service guys! After my fiasco at Les Schwab (see my review) I was afraid, so when I went in to Discount Tire with my tire I had been spending 75 cents to fill up every third day, I made it clear, in no uncertain terms that the maximum coinage I had to spend was $80 to $100 and if that only got me one tire - sobeit! So the guy comes out and looks at my tires and says, all your tires are fine, we will fix up your bad one and get you on your way. I still wasn't convinced, I know once they get it up on those pilons, that's when they find all sorts of 'issues'. What a pleasant surprise - just a fixed flat tire and no grief! read more
