The car I choose had a tear on the drivers side door, Richard said they would have it fixed. fast forward to March 18th my daughter took my car in to have it fixed So now we are in the Pandemic of the covid-19 on the 22 of March I called discount to see if my car was done, no answer 15 mins I called no answer. So I called Richard on his personal cell phone and he informed me they were closed due to the virus. But he went out of his way on his time to find out if my car was done and it was so Richard gave me the address to where my car was. I didn't quite know where that was so Richard was already in Ft Worth with his wife and agreed to get my car for me but that wasn't the best of it not only did Richard get my car for me he delivered it right to my front door. Mike Smith and Corey were very kind and didn't make us feel like we were being hustled by used car salesmen at all! They worked with us to fit our needs plus they were efficient. The office was spacious and very comfortable. Welcoming and upbeat, unlike everywhere else I've been. Small vending machines inside and great eateries within minutes! The car was in incredible condition compared to the other dealerships I've been to. From body to mileage, Auto Max beat all the others easily. There is a good selection of vehicles at this location plus they pull from other lots. They provided a carfax - bonus! I was going to ask for one. We got to test drive it as well. Auto Max easily trumps all the others when it comes to the buying process and selection. ALL of the staff was incredible. It will be paid off next year after having it for 4 years. Fast forward to July 2026, we needed a new car cause we had an accident in our other vehicle. We got a Chevy Traverse and after having it almost 3 weeks, it wouldn't crank. I contacted the finance department and they did something and it started back working. That was weird cause we weren't late or anything. Then it started hesitating on me and I became concerned. They told me I could bring it in and swap it for another vehicle. I was nervous to drive it back over there. They told me to leave the kids in the car and they would just have someone to pick it up. They couldn't tell me when or give me a heads up. The car just disappeared one morning. I went to the dealership once I noticed that they picked up the vehicle. We loved the new vehicle they gave us. However, it started making a weird noise after having it for a month. I called Vanessa and she said I could bring it in. I tried calling her that morning before taking it up there and firs they said she was coming out of a meeting and would call me. No call. I called back and they said she wasn't at her desk. At first she was going to take our keys and get it fixed. When I asked for a loaner until it got fixed, she said her manager said it wasn't anything that they could do because it was a little over a month! First of all, this is the vehicle that ya'll swapped the last car for and she could have told me this over the phone! I was so upset! I asked if I could speak with the manager. He would not speak to us and she had an attitude. Now we are having to pay to have it checked out to see what the issue is. This is ridiculous! We are never going back there again (well to pick up my sticker that I have yet to get..smh). This was the worst experience ever! Save yourselves the trouble! Unfortunately Carmax cancelled the reservation three times. Each time I had to call to have the reservation reinstated. Today, my sister-in-law drive from OKC to Fort Worth to see the car. I drove from Sugar Land Texas. Before Arriving at Carmax, I telephoned to advise I would be paying cash by wire transfer from my bank. After arriving at Carmax at 11:30 am today, my sister-in-law did a test drive and was ready to conclude the purchase. After a one hour wait, we were advised Carmax would not release the car if we paid my wire transfer. At 2:00 pm I arranged for my bank in Houston to issue a cashier's check at their Fort Worth branch. We were advised the local branch would be closing at 3:00 pm today. We returned to Carmax at 2:30 pm and handed them the cashier's check. They spent the next 20 minutes trying validate the check drawn on Merrill Lynch! Finally at 3:51 pm we were allowed to take delivery of the car. Only a 4 hour wait. This was my third purchase from Carmax and unfortunately my last.
