My honest review of Discount Glass is based on my experience with the company. And for the record, I highly recommend them, as they're very good when they come out to do the work. The problem, however, is getting them to come out! Lol Thus the reason for my 4/5-Star review. I think Kevin and Dora are a couple. Kevin does the work and I believe Dora runs the back-end. I'm guessing they're pretty busy, as it takes several phone calls and following-up from the customer to get someone to even finally come look at the project. When Kevin and his assistant finally came by to look at the job, I was very pleased with his ability to effectively communicate with me. That was HUGE, in my opinion! And after understanding the problem, he was able to fix it for me at a very reasonable cost. (Seriously, this type of service would be 5/5)! As I mentioned, it took lots of phone calls with Dora to make something happen. Thankfully, I didn't have an emergency. Recently, although my calls have been answered by Dora, no one has actually come to look at my issue to see if they can fix it. haha Anyway, like I said, 4/5-Stars for me. I would use them again (maybe not for an emergency). As seen in some of the other reviews, YMMV. read more

I tried scheduling an appointment a day or a time unable to do so. Tried to set a project a few companies contacted me only to say they don't specialize in my needs Discount Glass asked me to leave a message; even after doing so I couldn't get work done. Good luck folks read more

Our bathroom mirror (72" x 36") cracked almost in half. I called Discount Glass to see if they could help. Dora who works in the office as so helpful. Within a short amount of time Kevin the owner called me and asked more questions and we made an appointment for him to come to my home to give me an estimate/confirm the measurements. He and his employee work masks, was personable, showed me where he thought caused the break, and gave me options on installing a new mirror (glue the mirror to the wall vs clips on the top, etc.) Kevin gave me an estimate on removal of my old mirror and what it would cost for the new one including installation. The next day my old mirror was removed and the following day my new mirror was installed. The total cost was the same as the estimate. I appreciated the detail and clarity in answering my questions and the suggestions he gave that I would not have thought of. My new mirror is so much better than the old one. Not meaning the crack was gone, I mean a better longer lasting mirror that Kevin installed. After the installation I asked if they could replace glass in a framed picture. The current glass was broken with two broken pieces inside resting on the print. Kevin measured what was needed and because of the delicate nature of retrieving the broken glass resting on the print, took my picture to his office. He gave me an estimate before leaving. I was so elated as he had it finished by that afternoon. It is PERFECT !!! He took great care in taking out the broken pieces ... our picture now can go on the wall. I would ABSOLUTELY turn to Discount Glass for their services. I am a happy customer. PS: We have an indoor cat that likes to sneak out fast when a door is opened to the outside. Kevin and his employee took extra care that "Mr P" did not leave the house when they went in and out to their truck. Thank you, Theresa V Actually live in Mountain View now. read more

I broke the glass of my apartment window and I called them for a quote. Their price is certainly one of the lowest in the area..they quoted me $189 while the more famous Fransiscan Glass quoted $325!!!! But I did not go with them because I ended up with a similar quote but they could come earlier. I don't wish to break any of my windows in the future but certainly I'll call them first if I ever need their service. read more

Discount Glass provides prompt and efficient service. I needed replacement of 3 windows. Kevin, the owner, came over to assess the work the day after I called. He took measurements, provided an estimate and also showed me what was needed to do the job the right way. Their bid was very competitive and cost effective compared to another glass vendor. After the Milgard windows came in, Dora got me on the schedule right away. Discount Glass is a well run business where you will get great service. read more

I broke a glass panel on a rectangular pendant while installing it and hoped to get new glass for it the same day. I knew from experience that Franciscan Glass would probably need a day or two to cut the glass. I contacted Discount Glass by phone and was pleased to hear they'd be able to replace the panel for me, same day. I brought the lamp to them and Kevin and his wife Dora (the owners, I assume) were very pleasant to work with. Kevin had the lamp repaired and ready for pickup within a few hours and I couldn't be more pleased with the overall experience and price. While Franciscan Glass is a fine shop, Discount Glass will be my go-to from now on because of this experience and because they are the quintessential mom & pop shop that can probably really use the business in these strained times. read more

trying to get a piece of glass for an oddly shaped table. I brought in my (I admite) primitive trace of the table and Kevin was brash and rude. I felt that I was being scolded. His suggestion and recommendation was nothing and when I communicated with him that I didn't feel like he was providing customer service-he could care less. His wife Dora was sweet and helpful-him not so much. And in this time of COVID-I want to support local business-but Kevin doesn't care. read more

Wow! These guys are GOOD! We have a wall of mirrors and one of them cracked. It was a really tricky setup, with wood trim surrounding it, etc. To replace just one section would mean removing lots of surrounding pieces of mirror and wood trim, etc. And it would have cost a small fortune. But Kevin (the owner - he does almost all the work himself) gave us another option which looks really good and cost us much less. Really impressed with the quality of work, price and very good customer service. Great family-run business I highly recommend read more

They did excellent job to replace both my living room window!! Kevin and his crew came on time and get everything done in half day! From removing the old windows, installation and clean up after. They're incredibly honest and very professional. I would highly recommend them! read more

I had vandals break two windows in the front of my house. Kevin was out to give me a quote within an hour. The quote was very reasonable. He was flexible on the time to do the repair to accommodate my schedule. Again he was on time for the repair and completed it very quickly. Kevin and his assistant were very professional and courteous. Definitely a 5 star recommention read more

They installed six Milgard windows perfectly and efficiently. I should have had this done sooner -- they look great!

Discount glass is great and accommodated our needs when other companies couldn't come for weeks! Kevin came right on time and was professional and friendly. He fixed our upstairs office window perfectly and we will definitely recommend his services to anyone needing a repair. read more

There really needs to be an option for 0 stars! I am surprised to see so many good reviews after my experience. I work for an HOA management company and I believe the we should have been treated with more seriousness. One of my coworkers sent a work order, on September 7th, 2017, for a window replacement at a property that we manage. We have not heard back from Discount Glass. I received an email form the homeowner on November 2nd, stating that noting has been done about the window. I called Discount Glass and was told that they cannot find the work order. I was told that if I could send the work order again, the repairs will be performed, therefore, I sent the work order again. I was sure this time it will be taken care of. The homeowner emailed me once again on December 5th starting that no one has gone out still. I called Discount Glass again, and yet again, the work order could not be found. I have emailed it again. I received a response from Dora stating that she has received the work order and they will be going out on the week of December 11th. I have not heard back from the homeowner or Discount Glass and I believed the repairs had been performed. The homeowner emailed me on March 22nd stating that the window still needs to be replaced. I ended up sending out another company. I am not one to go on Yelp to write reviews, either good or bad, especially bad ones, because I understand that we are human, and we are all subject to error. However, after sending the work order 3 times and calling them 3 times and waiting for months and months, I feel like we have just been ignored. If the company was not able to perform the work, or they could not include in in their schedule, I believe I should have been informed and I would have contacted another company sooner. I hope that anyone else using Discount Glass does not have the same experience I had. read more

Great service, Kevin came the same day to give an estimate. We had 2 broken windows, one on the 3rd floor. I've been trying to schedule an appointment with Discount Glass a couple of times. The first time, they never showed up. The second time, they show up except they never confirmed with me so I didn't leave the key. They could have blown us off - a broken handle on a heavy glass door whose manufacturer went out of business. But no, they came out anyway, took some pictures and measurements and tried to jerry-rig a solution. They were persistent, visited again, called us several times to keep us appraised of what was happening, and, finally!, they found a solution and a replacement. Kevin and two other guys came out this week, installed the handle and lock in a matter of minutes, and off they went with my check for a total of$165 all told. Great people! Definitely will call upon them again if the need arises. We felt like we were dealing with real people, not some big corporate outfit. read more

This Guy Kevin and his helper came to install new windows in my house. He seemed nice and professional however as soon as i wasn't in the room with him he was calling his helper stupid and didn't seem to know what he was doing himself. SOSo after demeaning his help for several hours i realized he didn't actually do anything! His helper did all the work. Plus he was really rude to me on the phone but super nice when face to face. Don't call theses guys. He doesn't deserve the business. read more
