Our garage door broke this morning. I called Melissa at 8 AM. She was very cordial and obviously competent. Kevin showed up at 9 AM as promised, returned the door to its rails, adjusted the spring and rails, replaced the cable to its proper alignment, lubed both garage doors and was done by 10:25. He was friendly, proficient and efficient. The source of the door's problem was the spring that had previously been tightened too much placing additional tension on the motor and door mechanism. $125 was the total bill. The spring on our garage door broke of all times...you guessed it late Friday afternoon. I began calling around to get pricing and left several messages around town. I contacted the owner of Discount Door Service on Saturday mid-afternoon and was quoted a much better price. She advised someone would be out on Monday. Sure enough just a promised, Kevin called Monday morning to advise he was on his way. He arrived less than ten minutes later. He replaced both springs within 20 minutes or so. The door wasn't quite right, so he made some adjustments, and fixed it right up! It purrs like a kitten now and works better than it did before. Our garage door broke, and we needed help immediately. I called a few other places with very long wait times for service (think weeks) thankfully Discount Door Service had availability within days. I was very pleased that instead of having to replace the whole door they could brace it and replace the broken part as it had a crack, and the winding mechanism was completely broken. The price was very reasonable, and the service was performed on the same day as the estimate. Since moving to Tucson, we've encountered some shady businesses, but this is not one of those. Can't go wrong with discount door services. I installed garage door locks which pulled the opener arm out of the door, dumb on my part. Eddie showed up on time and made quick work of reinstalling with a reinforcement plate. He also corrected a couple of things that were installed incorrectly when the opener was originally installed.
