I purchased a garage door opener that I planned on installing myself, but due to unforeseen medical issues, I was not able to do it. Our garage door became finicky-- it would open, then not close unless I ran back inside and hit the button. I changed the batteries and no luck. After a few weeks I called one company and the guy tried upselling us a 1600 dollar door. Claiming, our door was too heavy and he couldn't guarantee a fix that would cost $750. Sounded unappetizing. So, we called C & D and they showed up in less than 24 hours and on time, had everything needed to do a tidy and less than 2 hour job. I can't believe it's been this long since I posted anything about my garage door. I meant to post this along time ago. These guys came out with little notice and replaced our entire garage door with an awesome quiet motor and a new windowed garage door. We even upgraded the door to the steel one that makes a lot of soundproofing and doesn't let it get very hot in the garage now. I highly recommend them and have recommended them to family as well. Their pricing was not the highest, but not the lowest either. They have excellent customer service and I have already come out to replace a bolt that broke not due to no fault of their own, but due to the metal bolt just breaking. My garage door opener was 19 years old and the chain kept coming off. I recently had a REALLY frustrating experirnce with another company in town and rad LOTS of reviews before chising this one. Because a replacement spool was almost $200 and a whole new unit was only $400 I went with the new opener given the age of mine. My garage door began to become erratic when lowering to the closed position. It would lower to 12 - 18 inches, then reverse to the up position (and not due to the obstruction auto reverse safety feature) or would lower about one foot then reverse. After manually operating the door frequently, I decided to have C&D Garage Doors inspect the door for any malfunctions or possible opener replacement. Benny came and inspected the door and determined the opener to be the problem (a 21 year old Lift-Master opener). After consulting with C&D's front office, Benny installed a Marantec (belt-driven) opener. I immediately noticed that this opener is ultra quiet and the door opens and closes like 'silk'. Benny arrived promptly and did a professional job replacing my door opener. I am very satisfied with my experience with C&D and will look to them for any future garage door issues. read more

After hearing a loud THUD emanating from the garage, a close inspection revealed one of the two Garage Door coil-springs had snapped in half while the door was in the closed position. Apparently these springs typically last anywhere from 5-20 years or so. Ours was about 20 years old and sharp changes in temperature (such as seasonal fluctuations) impact the life of these springs in addition to how well they are lubricated and maintained. On the door itself, we found an existing sticker reflecting the service company that had originally installed it, but they were a week out and had earned 3 out of 5 stars on Yelp. The thought occurred to us that this might be a good opportunity to try another firm with 3 or more stars (hoping they could provide service sooner than one-week at a competitive price.) Sure enough we found, then rang up Bennie at C&D and he was courteous, knowledgeable & friendly on the phone. The price he quoted was very reasonable and he said his technician, Ronnie would be available in less than 24 hours for the service call. Ronnie arrived precisely on time and went to work immediately and efficiently. He replaced both springs and checked door function & alignment, spring adjustment, sensor alignment, mounting bolt tightness, opener function and lubricated every possible moving part. He also spent a few minutes answering my questions and educating us on all aspects of the door mechanics, operator and door springs which was actually quite fascinating. Wow, who gets excited about garage doors for goodness' sake? Well, when the service company arrives the next day, on-time as promised and delivers perfect service at a reasonable price, I do! I dropped in to C&D's office to find out about replacing a panel and broken spring on my Windsor garage door. I talked to Clem who explained that Windsor doors were no longer available but then showed me some Windsor panels from a door they had replaced and suggested there might be a good one that could be used to replace my broken panel and introduced me to Dylan. I told Dylan that I would measure my door to see if it was the same size and get back to him if it was which I did the next day. He said that he would have his techs look at the panels and let me know in a day or two if there were any good ones. Three weeks went by without hearing from him so I dropped into the office again. Dylan recognized me and apologized saying he had spaced it out and that the used Windsor panels had been scrapped. I said let's talk about installing a new door but if you are too busy or don't want to do it just tell me and I won't bother you again. He then showed me some options for a new door and said he would get back to me with a quote in a day or two. Now it is more than a week later, he hasn't called me back, I have two cars that I haven't been able to move for a month now, and am looking for another company to help me out. read more

My new house is a little over a year old, so when I started noticing one of the garage doors (10' high x 12' wide) was making annoying squeaks and screeches, I first called the company that installed them for a check-up. I wanted to talk to the office manager before confirming a service call but never received a call back. Next step was contacting C&D. The nice lady in the office was personable, professional, and followed up with me twice to say that Clem, one of the owners, would be out to service my door. He showed up as scheduled, fixed not only the problem with the smaller door and adjusted its springs, but also adjusted those on the larger door which prevented the door from slamming the floor too hard upon closing. I observed everything Clem did to educate myself about garage door maintenance. He knows his stuff! I called Thursday mid morning, my door was back working (broken lift spring) at noon on Friday. They tried to get to me Thursday evening but it didn't work out. The tech, Dan, was friendly, fast and efficient. It took less than an hour for him to do everything, replace the spring, adjust the opener and lube everything that could be lubed. Cost: $185. Before I could catch the repairman's name he was done! We have two doors ,a double wide and single. The spring was broke on the double and mounting plate bent. Mounting plate bent on single. He replaced spring mechanism, and both mounting plates, lubed and was done in less than an hour. Very courteous as well. I highly recommend them! We were referred to this company by a friend. Their customer service was top notch. The company was slammed with work but the owner made time to come out himself and give us an estimate. He showed up early in the morning on time as scheduled. We had three estimates done. C & D was the first. He explained everything thoroughly such as the type of garage door, metal thickness, benefits of an insulated garage door vs non insulated and the details of their modern system. The second company that came out was also professional and on time but he did not reach the high standards that C&D set for us. The third company showed up two hours late and didn't even send us a quote as promised. Needless to say, we went with C & D and we are so happy with our new garage door. The day of the installation, Noah? came out right on time, he was really friendly and someone I didn't mind leaving at my house alone to complete the work despite never meeting him before. Our garage is right below our kids' bedrooms so having a quiet system was really important for us and we got just that. It reminds me of a Prius, you can't even hear it when it turns on! We also got a really modern system I hadn't seen before - I can now open my garage door with my phone, or let someone in from miles away. It also has the option to send me notifications when the garage door is opened or closed. I can also disable the remotes from home and easily change the keyless pad code if needed. I love it. I also forgot to mention that I had one company come out through my home warranty (didn't work out) and what they wanted to charge me for just THE DOOR was close to what C&D charged for the ENTIRE NEW SYSTEM.
