I was sent to this shop from Discount Tire (who no longer sends their customers here, by the way) to get a wheel stud replaced. I was a little put-off when I pulled up because this place looks more like a gas station that morphed into a junkyard rather than a mechanic shop, but I figured it's ok to use them for just a wheel stud replacement, what could go wrong? Well, not long after having the service done I noticed a strange sound coming from the front of the car. So I took it into the dealership and it turns out, the tech at Discount Auto Care completely forgot to replace 2 of the bolts they removed from the brake caliper, causing the noise. Pure negligence. A simple wheel stud replacement turned into a $300 trip to the dealership. I returned to the shop and talked to the manager, who admitted that the tech that serviced my vehicle no longer works there, but offered only an oil change as restitution, which I declined. If the techs you hire can't even remember to put a bolt back in, then I wouldn't let them touch the engine with a 10-foot-pole. read more

Was given a coupon for these guys a few days earlier from Discount Tire for Front End Alignment $55. Called to arrange a time. When I got there, they said price went to $75 (36% higher)! I asked why they hadn't picked up the coupons from Discount Tire or given them new ones with the correct pricing on them. The response was they just hadn't. I understand that costs and prices are going up. But, if you can't take the time to go pick up coupons from a major tire dealer up the street that is referring you, and you don't want to honor the rate, it feels like bait and switch to me. I have a hard time putting trust into a business that operates like this. Seemed like nice enough folks on the phone and in person, but trust and honoring your word is everything. It's sometimes hard to find a good auto mechanic shop that you can trust. I found this at Discount Auto Care! I had an issue with the A/C in my truck and brought it into DAC based on the recommendation of a neighbor and I was blown away by the level of service I received. They were honest which is the most important thing to find in a repair shop. With regard to my A/C, instead of trying to sell me new hoses (which I didn't need) they replaced my valves which were leaking. I'm 100% confident that if I had taken my truck to the dealership they would have sold me new lines and it would have cost me ten times what I paid at DAC. I appreciate you feedback however the compressor was working when I dropped my car off to get a Freon boost so I call BS on that. My AC was blowing cold air when I dropped it off. When I picked it up it was blowing hot air. I guess something magical happened while it was in your care. I had an all wheel alignment done on my MB. They screwed up the rear wheel alignment. The rear wheels wore unevenly. I had to buy 2 new tires. Then, I took the car for alignment at the MB dealership. I was told there were missing rear alignment bolts! Missing!!! Do not take your car to Discount Auto Repair! Especially for an alignment. read more

I brought my car in because I thought I needed an alternator I was told that they would run the test to see if I needed an alternator and they call me back and say I did they tried to charge me a ridiculous price of $1,100 for the new alternator and other services which I declined took my car to another shop just to find out that all I really needed was a battery and I truly think they tried to get one over on me because I was a woman will never go back there again read more

This repair shop is unscrupulous. They use the lowest quality parts, and in some instances, they charge for replacement parts without actually installing them. You may not even realize the part was replaced as they claimed until you need it redone the following year. They are deceitful and untrustworthy. read more

DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS. I tried to drop my car off to Troubleshoot and they tell me they can't test the electrical issue unless I pay them almost $200 dollars to repair a part that costs less than $10 and takes about 10-20 minutes if you take your time, and they charge less than $100 per hour in labor so explain that. Then was rude when I was asking questions the couldn't answer. I told them to leave me ish outside and they told me I had to come pickup today or they would have it towed. They screwed me over. They had my car for three days and didn't fix it. Their "master mechanic" said that one of their technicians said, "The car stalled out and wouldn't start." and then told that he walked by the car later and it started on it's own. The car is a hybrid and the gasoline engine shuts off if it is not needed ("stalled" and he couldn't restart it because it was already on!) If you leave it alone long enough the battery starts to get low and the gas engine starts up ("It started on it's own") to recharge the hybrid battery. That's what was happening but the "master mechanic" didn't seem to understand that. This ignorance cost almost a full tank of gas as, while unattended, the battery would drain and the gas engine would start up to to charge it, then drain the battery, then charge it up again. In the end they had my car for three days and then told me that they couldn't fix it. I had to take it elsewhere. Never again. I took it to Sharrock and they had it fixed in a couple hours. read more
