"Woohoo. As good as it gets!" doesn't really sound very medical as a review phrase for an…read moreorthopedic surgeon, does it? I mean it's not like when you need such a person you're gonna Yelp it all up and celebrate your wonderful experience, right? However, 80% of Americans will experience back pain at some point in their life, and medical treatment for such problems is estimated to cost $25 billion annually. (Workers comp costs and time lost from work add another $25 billion.) http://usatoday30.usatoday.com/money/industries/health/2006-10-16-back-pain-usat_x.htm. So the bottom line is that we all should get to become experts about 1) not just how to avoid getting these kinds of problems, but 2) what to do about it when you experience them (which 4 out of 5 of us will). Having squished a disc while moving boxes a couple of weeks ago, I'm here to tell you the answer: go see Dr. Wong. His group (Denver Spine Surgeons) rocks, and has rocked the spinal micro-surgery and treatment world in the Rocky Mountain West for a long time. Of course everyone's different, and you should do your own research about who best meets your needs. But for me, I've found my treatment provider and it's DSS, without a doubt. Now go out there and be careful (unlike me), and more importantly, be smart.

I have reviewed my medical record from Dr Wong. Most disturbing it thatI his notes and…read moredocumentation were totally fabricated. He wrote he spent 55 minutes with me when he spent 5-10 minutes with me complaining about other DR's care and other patients. My recommendation is to go to another DR, record your visit or bring someone with you and review your medical record afterwards, as he will document from others notes and make things up. He has a long history of being scored 1 and most people do not review their medical records and may be unaware of his notes which may be totally inaccurate and impact your care. Please follow up with both medicare, the hospital and the medical board because he will harm people if he already has not based on his fabrications which Im sure started when he was a med student. I can not stress enough that lying on a medical reocrd is not only bad for you but a very bad practice.

Dr. Kimball and Sean have provided the absolute best medical experience I have ever had!…read more I started having severe hip and leg pain in March of 2023. No one knew what to do with me. I changed PCPs, and neither the new or old one had a clue. I went to a spine specialist (non surgeon), interventional radiolgist, chiropractor, and PT. PT helped a bit. The spine Dr. suggested surgery, but had no idea who to refer me to. It was awful that no one could help. I got Dr. Kimball's name from a post-op nurse who has seen his results, and I called for an appointment in early November. I was warned that he had no openings for consult until January and no openings for surgery until March, but advised to come see his PA, Sean, to see if I even needed surgery. I went for the appointment with Sean, and Dr. Kimball (after seeing my MRI) walked into the exam room, told me that I couldn't wait for his next opening, so he was going to make an opening in December. I had surgery the first week of December, and today I am 100% pain free. BEST NEUROSURGEON EVER!!!! Dr. K and Sean really are the absolute best!!! I also inspected hospital systems, hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centers for Congress over two decades ago. Dr. Jatana is truly great from every perspective. He and his staff took time to assuage my concerns about a dual Cervical Disc replacement. I went from pain levels that almost left the 10 out of 10 scale to something between a zero and a one. His team meets every criterion of excellence in medicine. My anxiety level is usually very high when facing surgery - he and his team were a soothing balm that quelled that anxiety. Of all of the facilities I have seen, and surgeons who have performed surgery on me, NONE MATCH DR JATANA AND HIS TEAM FOR EXCELLENCE - NONE!

He specializes in the surgical treatment of spine problems that involve the neck (cervical), mid-back (thoracic) and low back (lumbar). Dr. Aguwa is a miracle worker…read more I had a herniated disc and was not looking to have surgery but saw Dr. Aguwa for his opinion. He was honest and up front saying that due to what was seen it was most likely surgery would be needed but he didn't push it on me. He gave me time to approach the situation with physical therapy and injections. I did make some progress but not enough to live a fully functional life without limitations like before. Dr. Aguwa was right, surgery it would be. He is very personable, considerate and caring. He makes sure you fully understand what will happen and things should be after surgery so you should not have any doubts in your mind. He is a miracle worker! I got to go home the same day of surgery. The nerve pain was gone immediately and I didn't even really need any of the pain meds after a few days. *Also I don't have any strange butcher/ Frankenstein scars, which is a plus. I highly recommend Dr. Augwa for all of your spinal needs.

Dr. Jatana and his surgical team receive a five-star rating from me only because the Yelp system…read moredoes not permit a higher rating. His knowledge of the Cervical Spine is encyclopedic, his candor and honesty are beyond reproach, and for me, the outcome of a multiple, cervical disc replacement was an outstanding success. Dr. Jatana was wonderful - his team of PA's and nurse specialists - reflect his philosophy of placing the patient's welfare first. It is rare for me to be trusting of a surgeon, but Dr. Jatana is a straight shooter and he and his team were able to assuage my concerns regarding this delicate surgery. You may ask why my apprehension is beyond what anyone would normally feel facing c-spine surgery, here is why. Before retirement, my principal job was reviewing healthcare organizations for a congressional committee of the U.S. Congress. Unlike today, this position at the time was totally non-political. The scope ranged from major multiple hospitals, clinics, rehab, nursing homes, and related healthcare organizations. Admittedly, I saw the full spectrum of healthcare quality - that is why I rate Dr. Sanjay Jatana and his team of professionals so highly - they represent the best possible confluence of surgical skill and knowledge with extraordinary people skills. Even in the years since my retirement about a decade ago, I saw the full-range of quality in healthcare. At the bottom end of the spectrum are surgeons who drag gargantuan egos through the hallways and produce bad results. One north Denver based surgeon spent a total of less than three minutes total over the course of two office visits with me for a Lumbar disc replacement, instinct told me to just walk out - I knew better - I wish I had. He did not even bother to stick his face behind the pre-op curtain before surgery and did not follow-up post-surgery, left me in excruciating pain of 10/10 for an hour because the nursing staff were terrified of talking to this guy, and finally saw me some three months later, almost an afterthought. He spent more time talking about his teaching engagement in Europe than caring about his patients. This is the exact opposite of Dr. Jatana and his team's approach - thank goodness. My training and expertise tell me that you cannot go wrong with the Jatana-team. I think he is the best I have ever seen!

Dr. Melamed does not care if his patients live or die or about their quality of life. No follow up…read morecare despite the massive danger of death - my death will be on his head and malpractice insurance. As far as he is concerned, my body and my life belong to him, not me. With my blood pressure through the roof for me, it should be so low it barely keeps me conscious, and my cortisol through the roof, he won't re-scan for aneurysm because I don't have enough family members with aneurysm. Given the low cost of re-scanning and the high risk if there is an aneurysm, he is reckless as well as playing fast and loose with his medical license. All he wants to do is hassle people with his hysterics and be a drain on society. He talks down to patients. He is desperate to be seen as an expert but his demeanor does the opposite. His office violates your privacy and contacts people you never authorized him to contact. Be prepared that it will be near impossible to obtain your own records because nothing you ever say is considered a records request and they will not contact you under any circumstances to respond to a records request. The only way to get any records is to go down there because they will not give you your own records any other way. Do not book an appointment unless you will be in this area frequently. Records are only needed for liability purposes and are useless for medical purposes so perhaps that is why they don't want you to have your own records. His staff are nice and accommodating. The personality of Dr. and staff are always the opposite - either awful staff and a nice Dr. or the other way around, such as here. The one thing both staff and Dr. have in common here is changing their story all the time. The visit is a waste of time, money and energy. But he is 1/9 the cost of what specialists charged 16 years ago so you get what you pay for.

I showed up for my appointment right on time, I went to the desk and i was rudley asked to put a mask on, i wasnt even greated. I called in advance to let them know i can not wear a mask due to breathing issues, they said no problem and accommodations would be made for me. I sat there filling out my paper work and another person who just came back into the office asked me to put a mask on. i then explained to her my situation as the other office person said " he re refuses to put on a mask". The second person then tells me to go sit in the corner and wait away from everyone. Then she proceeded to say i am endangering everyone around me and i should just leave. At this point i have very bad anxiety and they where belittliong me so i got up put the paper work on the table and i left. Since i wasnt able to see a doctor at that time, i was going to make another appointment else where. Not even 2 weeks later i got let go of my job due to my injury. At this point i had to go on colorado medicaid. I called back to explain my situation and get an appointment. i tried again because i already had a refferal and its impossible to find a doctor who is accpeting medicaid patients. I was apologized to and informed Dr stanley wasnt taking anymore patients but under this circumstance he would be asked. I waited a few days and they got back to me saying he still not going to take me. I undetstand he can only take so many medicaid patients, but if i wasnt belittled out of his office i would have been able to be seen. So since i wasnt treated with respect and im now on medicaid they are refusing to help me. Now im stuck in alot of pain trying to find a doctor that will help.
