Called them and said we are moving and here is the new address. They informed me that direct tv is there in your new area and not AT&T. I said that's fine, can you transfer the account to over as you both are under one umbrella. Sure he said, no problem and even confirmed someone will be at your new residence between 8am and 12pm on July 4th. I wake up to a phone call frl. A engineer who is sitting outside my old house!!!! Is anybody else getting the game called let's make an appointment and not tell the customer? Today was to be the 4th attempt for someone to bring out the new equipment for us ...... of course that's not going to happen. In their schedule they have us down for September 8th which has not ever been discussed with us. But magically they have an appointment tomorrow. So instead of them coming today they told us they were coming the 8th but because we called we could have some come tomorrow. That is not honest. That looks like they were able to come early and do a good job by arriving early. How difficult is it to bring the correct equipment to a service call. The 1st time the equipment was assigned to someone else so they couldn't give it to us. The 2nd appointment the equipment was missing some sort of something. The 3rd appointment got rescheduled for today. But today's appointment Isn't happening either. It must be nice to work at a company where you don't actually have to be accountable to do anything and yet you still get your money every month. Seems like there's a little word for that. Ugh, this is why I will not have any type of service with AT&T. My DirecTV receiver was blown along with our TV and DVD player in an electric storm on Tuesday. I called DirecTV for service and scheduled a technician to come out today between 8 and noon. I received a voicemail message this morning at 10 confirming he would be there before noon. It's 12:30 and still no technician, I call DirecTV and they tell me no you are scheduled for 4PM to 8PM. So basically, they changed my appointment without my consent nor did they notify me. Yes folks the Irish came out....I can honestly say that prior to AT&T taking over DirecTV we never had a problem. I have been looking to change, but now we will definitely be looking for new service. read more

Very frustrated to discover that the movies and shows I "RECORDED" are not available now that I have disconnected my HBO/Showtime/Cinemax package that I CONTINUED TO PAY FOR for several months after my "Free Trial" period ended, which started as my New Customer package... DON'T GO DIRECT!! Direct TV makes promises and refuses to own up to their promises. During the deal, they promised free NFL ticket and later charged to my account. I tried to speak to a supervisor to correct the matter. They would not credit my account. They only wanted to give me partial credit over a year to maintain my services. This shows they are a joke. They accept responsibility by making this offer but do not want to immediately credit my account. I've experiences similar circumstances to other negative reviews reported. When I asked them to listen to the tape of the promise of NFL ticket for free, they refused. What's the point of the recording? I would never recommend Direct TV to anyone. read more

I wish I would have went with my gut feeling I'm new to Florida and went was CenturyLink everything went great got DirecTV with them the first installed date was 3 days later after my order but they had the wrong digit on my phone number so when they called that morning it automatically cancelled my appointment then I called to see where they were and that's how we found out about the wrong phone number so I tried to get a new install date and they tried to give me 7 days later I told them it was unacceptable so I spoke with his supervisor and got the next afternoon however it was sprinkling when the technician arrived and as you know in Florida it rains everyday for a short time I looked at the side light soda technician and ask him to hang out for 5 or 10 minutes he called his supervisor and his supervisor told him to go to the next job that was inside I asked the technician before he left what time he got off he said it's Friday I not working overtime on Friday so I knew he was not going to be back I waited a short time call DirecTV back on the tech side they said there was nothing they could do better than the 7 Days Later so now I called customer care and I am on a I forget what they called it and Urgent install that it could be done this weekend but I just checked and it's still on the waiting list at the top supposably for my install I am not a happy person right now with DirecTV you would think for a new customer you would want to try to keep them so now I might just price cable companies. I am just so upset with DirecTV and the way that they have handled my order it doesn't sound like they want my business I'm not giving them any stars because they don't deserve one. ITS A SCAM!!! You will not get what ever your contract states or what ever is promised. For rain, clouds and unknown reasons it stops working. If you record shows, they have made it so you can not fast forward through commercials. That is if it recorded at all. Just spent over 30 minutes on the phone to cancel and and after talking with three different people, where the beginning of my conversation, I stated I wanted to cancel my account. And asked the second and third person I asked if they could cancel my account. The second one said yes and then transferred me because he couldn't after almost 25 minutes. The last one at least was honest and told me that the cancellation department wouldn't be open for another 30 minutes. She offered to stay on the line with me which I declined. It is all just a scam!!! Will have to try again in 30 minutes. Wonder how many people it will take this time, how long it will take or even if they are able to cancel this service. They have the worst customer service and it's impossible to speaker to a manager address any issues. Jessica is the supervisor who was absolutely no help and offer no solution to my problems. I called a month ago to cancelled my service because I sold the house and new residents wanted to set up service but Direct TV did not honor my request but instead double dipped at the same resident for over a week. I just call customer service and could not get anywhere so I asked to speak to a supervisor and told they could not do that. I hung up and went online to voice my complaint. The only reason for a 1 star rating is because there is no 0 star rating available. And 1 star is 3 too many!! I have never dealt with a more incompetent company. First of all, I was lied to by being told I could bundle my tv/internet. So I agreed to drop Spectrum in favor of DirecTV. I didn't find out until after the TV installation was completed that internet was not available in my area. First of all, they didn't show up for 2 appointments. It took me 3 hours being bounced around to about 20 people (none of which spoke very good English) to get a 3rd appointment scheduled. When the 3rd appointment finally showed up, and after he installed the dish and TV, he told me that someone else would be coming to install the internet. When I spent another hour on the phone being bounced around to more incompetent employees, and after the TV technician had left, I was told that internet was not available in my area. All it took was one 10 minute call to Spectrum to set up a re-install. I immediately called DirecTV back to tell them after 1 hour of DirecTV service, I am canceling their bogus 2 year contract. I can't wait for them to call asking me to reconsider!!! DirecTV is a garbage company with garbage service and a garbage product. Don't fall for their adds and promises of better service. By far the worst service ever, they LIE and say less than 99% signal interruption. Let me tell you something, i live in Orlando, FL and "had" Directv for 4 years and my satellite dish (newest equipment) aiming into the clear blue sky set by the Directv techs would work great "MOST" of the time, but if it rained or got cloudy we would completely lose the signal. And since it rains heavy almost every day in Florida this service is just completely useless. If you walk into popular sports bars such as Miller's Ale House Restaurants​ you will see 50+ TV's saying "Signal Lost" when the sky clouds up. Also, good luck trying to cancel with these village idiots, a customer of 4 years we were and they charged us a $200 cancellation fee because one of our HD boxes broke and they sent a replacement, apparently on page 69 of the 200 page fine print if you get a new piece of equipment for any reason it renews your contract for 2 years. I think it took me 2+ hours to finally cancel over the phone with these idiots. Avoid them like the plague, get cable, get anything but avoid Directv. read more

I had there service for about 3 years it was great service. I really never had an issue with the service coming to my apartment. And the installer came installed it and it was all neat and clean work. it was only those certain days when it rained really really hard I got an interruption in service, as expected. when I lost the job and move out I found out I buy everything, the dish - that they do not want back, and I rented it all from them all this time. I'm like dam so I buy it and pay to rent the some thing. This I feel should be illegal. So it was a deal like I pay my car off but I still pay the bank to use the car everyday. There is not any location to hand in the box you have to send it back in the mail. I can not believe how clear I told them my address on 3 different actions. First time to cancel the service, 2 times never got the box to send it back. I got the forwarded bill so they have my address. So calling them, the people that run these phones in America suck, I unfortunately only speak English but it seemed like they did also pretty good but it was never understood. people do not know what the hell to do if there not under 1000% supervision. Big companies way there odds, if they can get to read a script and have basic knowledge of what the computer is your hired, because now you only have to pay them minimum, instead of having one person doing shit right. So now there are charges to me because I didn't meet the return the box time frame. As my account should of been closed out they now have took the month payment out of my account automatically, it is 0 balance and I'm hungry, fuckers. I am bleeding with anger for a really stupid misunderstanding with them. In March 2017 I installed DTV. I was told that I had to pay a deposit of $224. I disconnected early any was assess a disconnection fee. Per DTV I had to pay the whole bill to include the disconnection fee before I could get my refund. I paid and received my final bill of $0. I called today and was hung up on at approx 10:30 am. I returned the call and spoke to Jeff 17321. Who said that deposit was a fee! Really! A fee because my credit was not up to their standard. Well about the fee for terrible service? I had DirecTV when I lived in NYC and for the most part was satisfied with them. When I moved to Florida last year I decided to continue on with their service. Huge mistake. I was temporarily staying with a relative when I signed up again for service. After six months I got my own apartment in the same town but they wanted $189.00 for installing the service in my new location. I was not under contract even though they said I was. They threaten me with a $450.00 early cancellation fee. I told them to show me the contract. After much fighting and standing my ground I cancelled my service. Not only all of the above but I discovered I was paying more and getting less programming. In the end they actually owed me money back. Whatever you do, go somewhere else if you want cable. Or better yet, cut the cable and just use a digital antenna for local channels and stream movies and television shows with Netflix. I'm done with DirecTV forever read more

DirectTV is a disgrace. I had this service for 8 years in California and when we got ready to move back east I had to return my TV boxes. So, I called and they were to send me the return shipment boxes with labels. I never received them so I called again as we had to move in a few days. The person told me don't worry about it and that I could just have them recycled, which I did at Best Buy. I then get a call asking for $195.76 to pay for not returning the TV boxes but I explained what I did based on what they told me previously. The guy says ok, we will handle it and close out your account. Great! Two months later, another call and the same conversation takes place with another person. Great! Ooops- Two months later, another call......I think you get the picture by now. Each person acting like there was no record of the past conversations and asking why I brought the boxes to Best Buy to recycle them!!! On top of this, they said they would forgive the cost if I got DirectTV at my new location. I kid you not. What a bunch of clowns. Been putting up with monthly increases on bills now for over 5 years. When it hits my OMG threshold, I call the company and start the game which goes like this. "we found the problem, your discounts have expired, let me check for more discounts" and yada yada. If they are unable to find enough discounts you can always threaten to disconnect in a few days. This guarantees a call from someone WAY better at finding discounts and you can bring your bill back down to earth....until the whole process starts over. Last year to get the upgraded equipment I apparently had to sign a contract for 2 years, great happy with the price and the NFL pkg etc, until less than 1/2 way through said contract my bill is up 40% and the billing for the NFL pkg hasn't even started yet.....LAME! So today with a little help from the internet I've joined the ranks of Cord Cutters!!! Little did I know for less than 1/2 of my bill I can watch anything including football. Called DirecTV today to request an equipment return kit. Since they don't service the area we recently moved to, we had to cancel. They claimed they could send the kit but could not confirm the address they have on file because I am not an "authorized" user on the account. My husband is the "authorized" account holder but that wasn't a problem for the past 3 years when I would call to pay the bill or ask questions about our service. Didn't matter that I had the correct account #, phone numbers, social, names, address, etc. because I wasn't listed as an "authorized" user, for some reason it is now a problem. All I needed was an equipment return kit. I asked for the manager and the customer service rep Raquel told me "no, the manager will not want to speak with you because you are not the authorized account holder". Talk about horrible customer service. I let her know I was happy to NO LONGER have DirecTV as a service provider and would not recommend it to anyone looking. No one I have spoken to is happy with their service. They need to start with cleaning up their customer service department. read more

Worst Sales, customer service and installation experience I think I have been through in a very long time. Sales didn't convey package correctly, installation didn't bring proper equipment and failed to turn on programming package purchased. Returned to sales tried to work out situation with customer service. 6 people later, dispatch calls me to figure out what was going on. Then I find out I am not on a joint account, so we spend more time adding me to the account so Direct TV will talk to me versus my husband about what is going on. Person 7-8 were spent cancelling the account within 24 hours of installation due to the incompetence of their staff. Today more time invested to speak to staff members 9 and 10 to further remedy a cancelled account they tried to confirm cancelled appointments for "again" for tomorrow and to once again argue that the charges that had been taken off my account and not be charged to my credit card last weekend once again be handled and confirmed by this company. I will NEVER do business with this company and HIGHLY recommend no one do business with this company. They are the worst, it appears to stem from disorganization and incompetence on the part of management and the vendors. The left and has no idea what the right hand is doing. read more
