I have Directv Streaming. They disconnected my service with no WARNING. No emails or phone call. I do not have ESP. I chatted online with there customer service. He did not even try to help me. Not very good customer service. I work in Customer Service for over 30 years and got recognized by guest on numerous occasions. We have been getting the run around, calling in several nights in a row, we have had direct TV for 20+ years. They kept wanting to change what we had, plus they kept telling us we needed more boxes and that a technician had to come out. We can not have anyone in the house due to a mother 91 yrs old with dementia. We were told that is the only way. Jump to today, we spoke to a very pleasant women named Paula in the "loyalty" call room. She was absolutely amazing! She actually knew what she was doing, and we DO NOT have to have a technician come out to the house. I wanted to mail a note to corporate about the wonderful service she provided so they would be aware but can't find an address. Thank you to Paula for being very knowledgeable and being able to answer any questions and for helping us achieve what we needed without a technician. You are our hero. I am going to cancel my DIRECT TV today and as soon as they open. Terrible customer service and I am always having issues. They say they are open for technical support 24/7, that's a lie as I called June 23 at 7am and the voice mail says call back at normal business hours. All three of my TVs are having the same problem, blacking out in the middle of shows, error saying resolution not found, error saying no signal found, tv screen going blank but u can still hear the program..We have had nothing but problems and no one seems to have a clue how to fix it. We were told they were sending in the mail another main receiver box, we never got it. I called after two weeks and they said the order was accidentally canceled and now over a month later we still never got the box and still having major issues. I do believe their company do not have a handle on their technology. We are always having problems with recorded shows, shows in Demand. We are constantly getting messages saying sorry but your program can't be viewed now and they are working on the issues. I've been a subscriber for almost 20 years and have probably paid them close to $40,000 in subscription fees. Been having a problem with HD reception of late and for the life of me I can't get their technicians to actually show up for an appointment. I have a two story house. I advised direct that the tech would have to bring a tall ladder. Tech shows up (Monday) without a ladder. Rescheduled for the following day(Tuesday). No one showed. Rescheduled for the next day (Wednesday) no show. Tried again for Thursday. No one. Finally get routes to a few people and I'm promised a tech for Saturday. I stay home all day and no one ever came. The following Monday, I get a call that the tech is at my house -- I did not schedule this --I'm at work but tell Them I will be there in 20 minutes. The tech can go ahead and start on the outside. I get a return call as I'm pulling into my neighborhood that tech refused to wait. So now I've left work early on 5 days and lost a Saturday and still no resolution. They continually tell the customer that they will take care of the issue you're calling about, BUT they NEVER DO!! Don't use Directv if at all possible. We have had them for quite a while. Some months ago they upgraded their guide and recording software and it has not been right ever since. We keep complaining and they say the fix is on the way. Last week I went through this again and finally got a $15 credit each month until they fix it, tell me they fixed it and I agree it is fixed. That's the good news. Because I was complaining a tech came, didn't solve anything regarding programming and recording issues and changed a part on the antenna. Then I got the next bill and surprise, surprise, I had a $99.24 "SERVICE CALL" charge. It gets better. I chatted again and after chatting and then talking to a supervisor "Victoria" she advised she could correct the billing. Then she disconnected the call. So, I have no chat record and no call to make my case. Today I chatted again and have been told, sorry, it's a legitimate charge! R U Kidding me? I am usually pretty generous with my reviews and I dont really like to complain very much about services received. That being said, I can hardly find the words to express my disappointment and frustration in dealing with this company as well as Viasat, the other company that DirecTV was supposed to work in conjunction with to set everything up for my family. During placing my order for AT&T/DirecTV, I was really surprised to find out that our phone and internet would have to be provided through Viasat rather than through AT&T. This should have been a red flag to me, but I figured they were experienced with coordinating the installation process. After an all day event with both AT&T & Viasat here, our phone was not set up the way we thought it would be. Come to find out, Viasat has to send an adapter for us to plug in so we can have phone service, so our landline will not be in service until it arrives in the mail about 7 to 10 business days. Why they did not do this when they were here, I have no idea. One of my family members is a cancer patient, so we rely on our landline for important medical phone calls and we cannot go that long without a landline. Additionally, I found out that our Wi-Fi had to be self installed with the purchase of a router. When I called DirectV about this, I was transferred numerous times while trying to explain the situation for hours. I had to call back a couple of times because I was either disconnected or the associate hung up. All they could do was apologize and I could not get ahold of a supervisor. One direct number I was provided for a supervisor did not dial at all; it just disconnected. When I asked for their corporate office's contact information (DirecTV of the General Council), I was informed I can only reach them by mail due to them changing their telephone number. Just trying to reach someone to help left me feeling so confused, upset, and mentally drained. Anytime I reached an associate, I was transferred or directed to call someone else. I went ahead and cancelled our service within 24 hours, which required separate phone calls to both Viasat & DirecTV. Neither company will send a technician out to uninstall anything, and we have to disconnect everything and send it back via UPS. My parents are older and I'm not particularly technical, so disconnecting the satellite and cables is an added stress. Additionally, they drilled holes in the siding of our home that will require repairs after we manage to uninstall it. Viasat wants to charge an early termination fee of an estimated 300 dollars or more since it was supposed to be a 2-year contract, but our services weren't even set up properly so I dont think paying 300 dollars is fair for less than 24 hours of internet that I didn't even get a chance to utilize. I am still waiting for a supervisor to call me back regarding this. Never before have I received such horrific services anywhere! I am so thankful that our original provider is coming tomorrow to set us back up with our phone and WIFI. I would never recommend this company to anyone. read more

We have been having a problem with one of our mini genie receivers for a while and have been rebooting frequently. The last step prior to replacing it was to send a refresh signal...which didn't work. They wasted literally hours of my day waiting on getting a replacement sent, then said I had no protection plan so I'd have to pay $20 . All this time I thought we had downgraded to the basic plan. They are saying that's not the case...it was cancelled. I had to leave the chat because I had other appts and when I called back an hour ago. After a half hour call, that according to their records no auth from tech support has ok'd the replacement. So I was back on hold. Now our Beloved Yankees are playing so I can't start any tech support and for the 6 th time I will be on hold tomorrow waiting for tech support but only after verifying seemingly every aspect of my life to start the process yet again. The call center calls appear to be overseas and getting even the simplest thing accomplished is absolutely agonizing. Do yourself a favor and carefully check out your options because today with dtv was a nightmare!!!! read more

Company is a complete rip off. They continually raise their rates while taking away channels. They offer free pay channels and free NFL Sunday ticket to new customers only. I have been with them since 2002 and get no discounts or free offers. I know they offer discounts to some customers but they choose which ones get that discount or free channels. I have been paying my bills on time every month since being with them, and never called them with any problems or issues, yet still I get no special offers. This review is for direct tv now, yelp doesnt have this listed so using directtv. We signed up about a month ago not expecting to keep it past two months. We just signed up for the free roku premier. It is required we keep the service for two months to get it for free. By the way the cheap roku for like $30 is much better then the roku premier you get from them a $69 value. I think the cheap one uses a blue tooth to connect to the device and works great, the free roku premier uses line of sight remote that is crap constantly have to hit the buttons more then once. Reguardless on to the service. The direct tv application is flakey and gets stuck a lot. If you really want to see a show it will most likely lose connection a few times during the show and then come back on and miss pa of the show. This of course does not happen on things you dont even care about watching. Its not the internet doing this as Netflix works fine on roku at the same time direct tv now gets stuck. The main problem with directtv now there is no dvr, also they use on demand for some content. You cant fast forward or reverse. Also they play commericlas you cant skip and there is a lot of them. I was watching anericas got talent and one stretch of 13 commericals in a row, Unacceptable. We are glad we fired spectrum for tv, and plan on switching to playstation vue after the two month deal is over with Direct tv now. Its not worth getting a free roku for one or two months of service. But wanted to give it a shot before switching to playstation. read more

I have two TVs that are not responding. It takes up to 60 seconds for it to boot up on one TV and then when you give it any command it takes 15-20 seconds before it responds. The other TV gives me a message that I need to change my HDMI cable to component cables...why after 2-3 years do I now have to change? This is the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. From day one they continued to screw up the agreed payment amount for their service. Each month it was different in an increasing denomination. I had to call every month to dispute my bill. One month they disconnected my service and couldn't or wouldn't tell me why then proceeded to sell me a service three times our original agreement. When I had enough of their bull crap I called to disconnect. I received a bill for disconnecting early from my two year agreement? I didn't know I had a two year agreement....hate them all. Please be aware this company uses false and deceptive advertising practices and the Federal Trade Commission has file suit against them. The case is suppose to go to trail in Dec 2016 in Federal Trade Commission. They advertise 50.00 for two yrs. but not until you get your first bill, after the sale they say price will double after 12 months. They have correct info now on their website but not on mailers and of course they tell you you signed a contract but I don't believe a contract is valid if misleading info is how they sealed their deal. All communication company's are out of control. File complaints and spread the word that the public is entitled to fail business practices. AND why can't they sell a product at a fare price without all the BS and still have a decent business is pathetic. In addition I am now setting my house up as a vacation rental and wanted guest to be able to buy movies with their own credit card but that's not possible without me giving my password out to them which defeats the purpose of quests paying if once they use my password it can automatically be charged to me. There should be a stand alone payment option but there isn't. I suggest to others they buy an Internet TV, Internet capable DVD or Roku device and get all the same and better programming from Fandango, Hulu, Netflix or Amazon etc and do it cheaper. read more

I was told the installer would be there between noon and 4pm, at 4:00pm was told they would be delayed, till 5:30, then I was told they would't do it today, at around 5:00 after calling directv, was told someone would come out between 5:30 and 6:30, at 6:35 a person finally showed up to tell me that it was too late, and that Thursday would be my new install day!!! DirecTV is going downhill fast. I don't know if it's the merger with AT&T but they have turned into a company that cannot be trusted. I have setup appointments with them twice and their people don't show up to do the work even though I have received automated calls during the four hour window saying that their Tech will be there. Their Tech's will cancel your appointment at the last minute and reschedule a new one without speaking to you. I had one of their Tech's show up to my house three hours after their four hour window had passed only to tell me that he could not do the work because he did not have the parts that I needed.
