I asked to AGAIN speak with a supervisor. After waiting for 1 hour 27 minutes (stupid me) with her coming back on the line every so often to assure me that the supervisor was coming, she disconnected the call. I guess that was her way of letting me know that a supervisor wouldn't be coming after all. Right back at you AT&T/DirectTV. I would give negative stars for this poorly ran company and their horrendous "customer service" department. After receiving military orders from OKC to a new duty location we cancelled our subscription to their service. We were told by the customer service agent that my family was not obligated to pay for the cancellation fee due to our PCS orders. One year later I found out that Direct TV was trying to collect a $200 cancellation fee and was sending the payment notices to my old address, also, they sent my account to collections. After finding this out, I tried to contact direct tv and got passed around numerous clueless agents and was not assisted in any way with this issue even after we provided justification for the cancellation. It has taken over 14 days and 20+ calls to this company of them wasting my time because they do not have a clue on how to resolve my situations. BOTTOMLINE: if you are in the military and move constantly DO NOT GET SERVICE WITH DIRECT TV. All they have done is cause more stress in our move and not assist my family in resolving this problem. I will never have services with them again and will tell EVERYONE I meet about this horrible experience and their lack of support to our military fam. Directv is a joke! Do not be lured in by any of their promises. Service is regularly interrupted. Slight breezes will take them offline. They use the same channel package scheme as the other companies. Except that most of the channels available are shopping channels or pay per view. On Demand services rarely work. Be prepared to wait an entire weekend or more for a maintenance person to come when service is down. Also, it's very clear the people they send out have little to no knowledge of general installation. If I could give less than No Stars I would, but it seems Yelp makes you post a pity Star. read more

DirecTV pre and post ATT; NEVER AGAIN! 1st :service for 3.5 years and paying extra for protection plan, called to cancel, and told NO, due to service agreement extension for 18 months because we required a box replacement at end of old contract, even though we had paid for PRTOECTION PLAN. 2 days of 5 + hours on phone with multiple managers, and departments explaining why they were wrong, and we were not in "breach of contract", a manager finally said ok we will "let you off"! 6 years later 2nd:Signed up through ATT owned DirecTV, after 2 year contract PRICE DOUBLED, I called APRIL to cancel, told we are under contract Sept, because we purchased an additional box (paid $100) this extends our service agreement with them (even though box was purchased through another company and we paid for. So, I asked what do I need to do to get out of contract? Told I must pay $20.00 each month of contract agreement, I said, "FINE" They sent me shipping boxes with paid shipping labels to use to send equipment, I dropped off at USPS, took my CONFIRMATION of RETURN RECEIPT. 1 month later got bill saying I owed $294.34 for the equipment. Thankfully, I SAVED MY CONFIRMATION RECEIPT! Called DIRECTV gave them the information, 40 minutes on phone, they tracked down that I was "telling the truth" and my bill would go to zero balance. Then had the nerve to say, "I see you have been a great customer, we would like to offer you half off monthly fee, and ship new equipment for FREE", me long pause, thinking of all I wanted to say, then said "NO" sharply. NEVER, NEVER AGAIN, they make it PAINFUL AND TIMELY TO LEAVE and ALWAYS TRY TO GET YOU ON EXTENSION of CONTRACT! If I did NOT have my CONFIRM receipt, I would have had a real fight and most likely many hours of more phone calls. Did they really just lose returned boxes, that have a serial number on each, or were they trying to rip me off for another $300? After setting up service and an install date they proceed to change the install date twice and then tell us that we no longer qualified for the package we signed up for. Trying to cancel and get our deposit back was even worse. Was told two or three times that they dont have a cancellation department except the third Wednesday of every month (which is a lie) and was hung up on each time. FINALLY after three hours trying to get someone who could help cancel our order they wanted to charge a cancellation fee, even though we didnt have anything installed yet. I wanted NFL Sunday Ticket so I chatted with an online customer service rep who lied when I asked questions- my understanding was I was committing to a one-year contract at about $30 a month with a 3 month free movie channel package. I was able to watch games that day. After the dish was installed, I found out we have a 2-year contract at $69 /month. I wouldn't have agreed to that ever. The rep was not honest and I have no record of the chat. My mistake big time. He also kept asking me to close the chat window if we were done. I'm pretty easy-going but now I realize I was scammed. The cancellation fee is $240 prorated and $10/month. This was a costly mistake and I will never trust AT&T or DishTV again. read more

If you're thinking of switching to DIRECTV don't do it !!! first of all the iPhone app sucks! you can't watch anything on your phone like it says you can, if there's a rain cloud anywhere near you, you can't see your shows .... TVs out until the rain cloud is gone. I loved the service I received as a DirecTV customer. They were always so nice and helpful. I never had an issue with the dish - maybe only one time when it was severely storming. Once I moved to a new place they were not able to install a dish on my house and we had to end service. Ordered services for my new home, everything seemed GREAT, I ordered the package I wanted, they had a GREAT special offering $200 in VISA Gift Cards when you start new services, and they scheduled my installation for next day **PERFECT!!!** I arrange to have someone at my new house (I have work today), I rushed to get my TV's there so that they would be ready, and I contact them first thing this morning to ensure they would be there today, and Shelly via Chat confirmed to me in writing that they would in fact be there today between 11 AM and 1 PM. I find out at 10:30 AM (CST) via email that they rescheduled my services for tomorrow (Friday June 22nd, 2018) between 9am-11am. So NOW I have to scramble and find someone to be there first thing tomorrow. I am already LIVID at this point, and calling to figure out what the deal is and why its being changed after I arranged everything JUST to be transferred without warning THREE times back to back having to re-explain myself over and over and over, THEN to be told I AM RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL for demanding the service that I was PROMISED. THEN I found out it was rescheduled AGAIN for sometime tomorrow between 1 PM and 3 PM... I'm DONE. I asked to cancel my services approximately 150 times AT LEAST and they REFUSE- they are going to *try* and prioritize me for sometime today but no guarantees and supposedly are sending me another $200 in VISA Gift Cards and giving me a $150 bill credit (curious to see if they will follow through) but I guarantee YOU I won't pay a dime to this company until I am 100% satisfied with their service and correcting this absurd mistake. read more

I was told by a Direct TV/ AT&T employee that I could add up to 4 receivers at anytime no charge. When they first installed we had 2 installed and the person working said if I needed more to call and there should be a small installation charge. I called on 5/14/18 and the employee helping me told me it would be a $179 charge to add the 2 receivers that I have not added when it was originally installed. Had I known this would come back to bite me I would have done it when the installer was there. This is ridiculous and I do not recommend people using them.. That is not a small installation charge. We signed up for DIRECTV @ the Midwest City Sam's Club in Jan. The installer forgot to hook the TV up to the internet so we could get Dish on Demand. After several calls to the installer, Sam's Club & corporate nothing has been done. Each place tells to call the other one. Corporate said they would send someone to fix it for 49.95. This was suppose to be part of the basic installation so we should not have to pay for it. read more

We moved into a new residence last week. Called Directv to have the services moved. We have both domestic and international programming. When they showed up at the new residence they were oblivious to the fact that we had an international package. We were told to call and have someone come out and install the international dish. They set up the domestic channels and left. Since then 3 different technicians have been here with varying stories about the Genie 2 system not working with the international dish and not having any international dishes in the warehouse. After taking off work 3 more times to meet the technicians we still do not have an international package. One of the technicians said he would elevate this matter to get it fixed. One of the operators I talked to also said they would elevate this matter to get it fixed. I talked to a supervisor who said he would look into the matter as well. I also went online to chat with a directv rep. He said he would elevate this matter to get it fixed. All they have to do is put an international dish on the roof and connect it. It is becoming painfully obvious this is beyond their abilities. This company lacks the ability to do the simplest of tasks. I am a senior citizen living on a fix income, I was renting a home and connected to Direct tv service , the people I was renting from told me they were selling the home and I would need to move, I contacted the low income senior housing in that area and was told there were no apartments to rent at that time, so I put my things in storage and have moved in with my children,,,, I turn in a disconnected service order to stop my service with your company, Direct tv ,,,,, I was told that I would have to pay for the contract since it was not completed ,, and I did send the equipment back to your company,,,, I received a statement in the mail stating I owe a balance of $408.00 . So I called this morning to set up a payment plan with your company, direct tv .,,,, after I was transferred (6) six times to different customer service people I was told that your company would not help me set up a payment plan, that your policy was to wait 45 days and turn the account over to collections and if they wanted to set up a payment plan with me at that time , then I would be able to do that, but not until account was disconnected 45 days and at that time we all know that does and will affect your credit, I am an older person and my credit is important to me ,,, I was and am very very upset with this information today and I would not rate your company with even (1) one star,,, Why would you not work with customers when thier disconnect was something they could not control,,,, I don't understand your customer service , It's sure not to be of help to the customer, why would you want to hurt your repuation with the public, Do you not care, are you that big of a company that you just don't care what your customers think ,??? I recently signed signed up with Directv and loose reception every time it rains or have dark clouds. I have been charged for re-adjusting the dish and now have had to pay postage for replacing the obsolete receiver that failed and was charged $153 for the new style receiver. I was told when they receive the old receiver, I must call June 22nd and they will refund $135 but I will not receive a refund unless I call on that day. I asked them how soon I can get out of their contract and they said I am stuck for another 18 months. I intend to call every time that I lose reception and keep a log of the failures. I was watching a tornado coming toward me and was warned that there was a tornado about a mile away from me when it started to rain and the TV lost reception just as they said to take cover. Found that there was a tornado about a mile wide going very close by on my weather app on my smart phone. I am very sorry that I fell for their service and as bad as my cable was, Directv is much worse. I have never written a bad review on anyone before but DirecTv deserves it. read more
