Despicable treatment by a group of totally untrained, uneducated, incompetent L I A R S First call 10/17 - This is where I lost 51 minutes of my life trying to explain an issue to their incoherent representatives. First Eileen who was totally useless. Then her 'supervisor', Jasmine who guaranteed me I would receive an email from someone on their tech team within 72 hours, Ticket #1-236907879796R2. It sounded far-fetched, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. 10/24 - As anticipated, no response. Called again and spoke with Sierra who again, was of no use. I asked to AGAIN speak with a supervisor. After waiting for 1 hour 27 minutes (stupid me) with her coming back on the line every so often to assure me that the supervisor was coming, she disconnected the call. I guess that was her way of letting me know that a supervisor wouldn't be coming after all. Right back at you AT&T/DirectTV. Tomorrow, it's my turn and I will be one to hit the disconnect button and terminate your services. read more

Direct TV is not worth anyone's time, there is always something wrong with either the internet, TV stations just going off air, or no signal.... Then when you call customer service you'll want to pull your hair out with the outsourced individuals you speak with. There is so much background noise that they cannot hear you and I've been hung up on several times. I will switch and never return to this joke of a company! read more

I've never been a DIRECTV fan so I almost killed my husband when he switched our TV service to this. Our bill has been double what it's been with another company, and there are wayyyyyy too many channels for my liking. We moved to a larger home (less than a mile away) a while back and they charged us AGAIN to connect service at the new home, instead of just transferring service. My husband only uses it for the sports packages and those are ridiculously priced. Half the time he watches the sports somewhere else anyway because we get spotty reception. They try to get you to sign up for whatever internet they have, and I'm not even sure what it is. I still have my broadband with the old cable company and I have no problems! I wanted to switch back but I found out they hold you to a contract which is u breakable unless you fork over almost $400. And why on earth would I want to keep the equipment? They make you purchase the equipment so you can't return it! One thing I will admit that I like about this service is the DVR and on demand features. I only have about 3 shows a year that I watch so I like to record them and binge watch. So one star for the DVR, and one for the On Demand. read more

Horrible customer service!!!! They are committing fraud and they are thieves! I paid a lot of money for services and equipment I never received. I moved locations and I scheduled two appointments for installation set up. First appointment they did not bring adequate equipment. Second appointment they went to the prior location and did not even try to fix the problem or go to my new address. I immediately cancelled direct tv and they charged me $247 in installation fees and equipment that I never received. After multiple attempted calls and Hours on the phone trying to get my money back with direct tv, I finally got $233 dollars refunded, which isn't even the full amount. I also got charged for a full month of Direct TV channels that I never got installed at my new address. But at this point I'm so frustrated and upset I will take the $233 dollar credit. I just don't want to waste my time with them anymore. They are committing fraud and they are thieves! I paid a lot of money for services and equipment I never received. read more

I had DIRECTV for about four years. The service was okay, but when they jacked the pricing and charged me for NFL Sunday Ticket, without asking me, that was to much. I canceled my service in August of 2018. They did not send me a letter or email to tell me how to return my equipment until it was almost to late not to be charged. I had a balance on my account with them 0f Minus $187. I called three times since I canceled asking for my refund, and got the "Oh it's in the works." or "It has to be processed onto a pre-paid VISA." I just checked my VISA balance and there is a refund, finally, but only $123! I WILL NEVER HAVE DIRECTV AGAIN!!!! read more

I am absolutely disgusted with the service of DirectTV. I contacted them many times over the past year asking to reduce my rate, for a better deal on the package with internet and home phone. Cancel my home phone? No, It wont make a difference, but 'we can save you $5 a month" So I cancelled my service and went with Dish and their new plan where you select your package - Im saving $100 a month and that includes the same internet! So I call today to tell them I have not receive my return boxes and they offer me a great deal - even less than Dish for 2 years. REALLY??? Direct TV does not realize that they should offer their best customers, long time customers who pay their bills on time the best deal! Then I get a cancellation fee in my email right afterwards, I call them again, they argue with me, cut me off and are in general rude - but then I was frustrated because I was obviously speaking to people in India who don't give a rats ass about customer service. I even elevated it to a manager who said we cant help you. So I told them we have Direct TV on FOUR rental properties and I would be cancelling them all today and her response was "well, that's your option". So as not to refund a $40 cancellation fee, DirectTV is losing 4 additional accounts that pay $136 a month. DONE! CANCELLED!! and I got a better deal. read more

direct TV is the worst and at&t is also the worst. the interface is not easy to use especially if you are used to working with Netflix and hulu and Amazon video. the plan we had was with internet and costing us $110 a month and that was for MOSTLY bad content MOSTLY sales channels, what a rip-off. I tried to get a refund but the loyalty office refused, I only had it for 1 month! I made a pre-decicion that if they refused to refund me then I would switch to spectrum internet, and not even try "cable" again. wow, I dont know why this dinosaur even still exist in todays world, I guess the baby boomers still need it, but the rest of us are fed- up. DONT EVEN TRY TO GET CABLE (not for just having cable anyway) if it works for your price with a bundle with cell phone then that's great, otherwise, dont bother, it's not a good deal. and do not get into a contract with them either just for the deal, because you WILL want to cancel for paying that much for CRAP! also, even some of the channels have audio issues. read more

I had services set-up ready to-go and their technician cancelled. For no good appearent reason. I was home, no one tried to contact me. Did not attempt trying to find my address-if lost. NOTHING. All I got was an email stating "sorry we missed you." I was literally on the phone with them when I received the email. I was told "the technician couldn't reach you because you were on the line with us." Which I know for a fact he didn't. I have call waiting, we don't live in the Stone age. (Plus, I was told later that day that he cancelled because he could, there was no note stating why.) Then I was told I would get the next available technician asap. This was at 10:45am. At 3pm I called for an update, there was no record of that representative stating I would get the next available technician. Plus since the technician cancelled, somehow it's my responsibility to set up another appointment. Which is why I did not make sense, that the previous CSR didn't help me set that up. For the next three days I was given the run-around. I was supposed to be set up on a Thursday. APPARENTLY no technicians work weekends. Which surprised me because that's when the other half of the working class is actually home! The most fustrating part was the 23 transfers. No one, NOT ONE, of their CSR's knew how to help us. It was as if they kept throwing us down the latter to be someone else's problem. Each time I was transferred I had to repeat my story. APPARENTLY, they don't take notes. All they see, is the amount of phone calls that were made. Their customer service line is unprofessional. We were lied to multiple times. What they are really good at, is re-wording the same info over and over again. I will never subject any of my friends or family members to this benign cruelty and reference them to DirecTV. read more

Had an appointment for 3-16-18 btwn12-4pm. Got a phone call at 8am confirming said appointment...then I spent the rest of my day waiting. I called several times after 4pm asking what had happened only to be told that according to them it said that they were on location, and on the last call around 7pm they finally find out that the service truck had gone to our old home address at around 4 (they admitted that our current address was properly listed and that the former address was listed as our previous address). The current owner told them that they didn't ask for any services and told them to leave. I never received a call that they were on the way, and the fact that they went to the old house considering all our recent interactions have been at our current location is beyond stupid (this wasn't a recent move either it's been several years). A whole Saturday wasted sitting around waiting and calling because they didn't actually bother looking into the situation to begin with. read more

I recently relocated to El Paso TX and 5 days before the move I went online and ordered a bundle for DirecTV and AT&T for ~$118 dollars (Ultimate bundle). Even though I have email confirmation of my order on the day of the install only AT&T showed up. I therefore, called DirecTV only to find out that because my cell phone number was linked to my mother's account they refused (was literally told this by a DirecTV representative on the phone). I tried to explain that my phone number was not on my mother's acct but merely as a representative for any issues my parents may have with their service. I spent over 8 hours on the phone with what seemed every department from both AT&T and DirecTV and they could not resolve the issue. Since they did not fulfill my original order I cancelled AT&T and went with another cable provider. For those who are hearing that AT&T and DirecTV "merged", don't believe this because I can attest that they are still very much 2 separate companies. Now I am being billed by AT&T for a total of 5 days (days which include the day I placed the order and only 1 day of the actual AT&T install - which is why I say they are very different entities since AT&T also had my cell phone number as a representative who could call on behalf of my parents). The bundle included "free install" but now AT&T wants to charge me for the install and they won't budge despite the fact that I have emails and order numbers confirming the install fee was "free". I will say this much, I will be phoning them as soon as my parents 2 year contract is over to disconnect DirecTV and given the one year contract with AT&T is over I will definitely be changing the Internet service at my parents home given I am on their acct. as a representative. I am also taking into consideration that the cable service provider I have at my home (Spectrum, formerly Time Warner Cable) provides speeds much faster than AT&T (60 mbps vs. the 25 mbps AT&T provides) and they also don't require a contract and a set fee. If you are looking for Internet and/or cable service I would highly recommend Spectrum vs AT&T/DirecTV. Who knows, maybe one day AT&T and DirecTV will eventually become "one", the very definition of "merge". Until then I would tell my friends and family that Spectrum is the best choice. read more
