Just don't do it. Not even worth the one star. This company has horrendous service. At least once a month I experience outages. There is no remote technical support, everything requires a technician to come onsite (conveniently during the hours you're never home). They monopolize service in certain buildings/area so you're left with no choice but to use them. Definitely looking for a way out. read more

The worst internet service I have ever had. I am even inclined to say that the review which gives it 4 or 5 stars is bs. Every complaint on here from the other 10 are basically my same complaints. I have called numerous times to complain about the internet falling off, have even had a tech come out and change the filters. Absolutely nothing has changed. The internet falls off all the time. I have asked twice over the phone to file a complaint and basically was told that they were the only people in the office. STEER CLEAR OF ANY CONDO WHO HAS A MONOPOLY WITH DIRECT PLUS. THEY SUCK!!! Terrible customer service. We live in the Terrazas complex, which is entirely serviced by Direct Plus and have been completely without internet for the whole morning. When I called to ask for a position, after all we work from home and are fully dependent on a working internet connection, the apathic Customer Service attendant simply stated "I have absolutely no idea of the ETA. Could be couple of hours, the whole day or maybe the whole week." WTF? This is supposed to be Customer Service? And alas, we still have no connection. read more

They simply solicit communities and put them on a contract so that the residents aren't able to choose another service and with that being said, they can get away with the crappiest service knowing residents have no other choice. If you're considering an apartment building and find out that Direct Plus is the sole internet provider, just run away and don't look back. If you're asking yourself how bad could an internet provider be - well, maddeningly, wanting-to-rip-your-hair-out, bad. Incredibly slow speeds when it works (11Mbit/s tops, when I'm paying for 20Mbit) - all of that for a price that would get you at least twice the speed at Uverse or Comcast. I have Direct Plus through my home association, and I swear they are the worst TV provider out there. They don't care anything about their customers and they give it to you as it is!!!! They have the worst customer service reps. The reps do not have any type of sympathy for their customers and they are not willing to work anything out with you... They have always placed the blame on Direct Tv, saying, "Oh with Direct Tv contract we cant override anything and its up to Direct Tv"... I just order a standard box for one of my rooms on yesterday afternoon and they charged me $140. When we hooked the Standard box up and seen it didnt work with my Smart TV., I called them back the very next morning to report it. I advised them I received the wrong box. The rep said Direct TV (as always) will charge me $86 just to get a HD box. I was extremely pissed because I wasted my hard earn money and you guys cant switch my box out for free. Theses people are con artists and clearly they forgot whose giving them their salary. Me as a customer doesn't feel appreciated nor valued as a their customer. The internet goes off often and when you call them to complain they first tell you that there is nothing wrong on their side. You call them again then they tell you that the internet is down and they have "NO ANSWER: when you ask them when its going to be back you. They don't even send a technician to fix it. THIS COMPANY IS A TOTAL SCAM AND HEADACHE!!! STAY AWAY!!! I go to school online and my husband works from home and it has been an utter nightmare dealing with this provider. Our internet is below 9mbps all day long and for over 2 months and we are paying for 40 mbps. I literally cannot stream any video lectures or get anything done in the luxury downtown apt that we pay a ton for! The slade in Tampa is such a decent building apart from this internet provider. Needless to say we wont be renewing our lease here. When you call customer service everyone is rude and gives you stupid excuses after excuses, they send out techs that basically do the same thing you already did at home by checking the speed, the management says they will call back and never do, they make you wait on hold forever and hang up. Its an absolute shit show. My husband cannot work from home anymore and has to stay at the office late. I have to run to a library and im 4 months pregnant! Its crazy how much this has affected our lives. I wish i could give them a middle finger, a piece of shit and zero stars! This is probably the most horrible internet service I have ever had. I work from home and relay on fast internet to work. My internet goes down AT LEAST 5 times a day. They have had many "outages" in the past few months. Not to mention the internet is EXTREMELY slow. I'd utilized DirectPlus for a year at my Miami condo. The service was usually too slow to utilize multiple tabs while surfing or watch any streaming media of decent quality. My main complaint is the lack of customer service. Trying to contact anyone is extremely difficult. I moved out of my condo almost a month ago and I'm still being billed for internet service. You may be much better off to go with other satellite or cable companies. These guys are liars. Had an appointment to install the service but no one show up or called me. Called their customer service numerous times and sometimes they told me a technician will come in 15-20 minutes, other times they told me that the tech will call me in 15-20 minutes. Every time it turned out to be a lie. Every time I called they assured me that the installation request is still open and the job will be done today.
