Angelo and the rest of the processes to have functioning wi-if or internet is the absolute worst. No help and all that could be said is I am sorry there is nothing I can do. How is it that you run a business and a technician is required to go to the home to reset the internet. What happened to good customer service skills and also the fact that we are able to remote in to televisions, boxes and more yet I am without internet and a paying client?' IT JUST MAKES NO SENSE! If you want your money stolen from you use DirectPlusNow. Worst service ever. I will be taking my businesses elsewhere as this is absolutely unacceptable! read more

I can't express enough the bad quality services of this company. Every week we are out of internet services. My building switched to this company and they don't offer phone services therefore my fax number is not working, and they literally don't care. They charge you $5 as soon as you pass one day bill pay date. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. read more

This company is complete garbage. They shut off my services a week before they were asked to. I'm moving and gave them a date. Instead they turned it off that day. Now they can't flip a switch to turn it back on. I've wasted hours talking to the incompetent employees that work here. Odds are you only have them as your choice for services. They buy contracts and monopolize properties. So they can give you the worst service and have no repercussions. read more

You win some, you lose some. I would have been the winner, had I taken the building's recommendation and signed with Direct Plus; however instead, I signed a year contract with Comcast. The pricing was about the same but I was concerned with losing signal during storms... big mistake on my part. As a result of having Comcast, I lost cable and wifi (meaning my service trapped inside of my home during the storm was pretty much nonexistent) BEFORE hurricane Irma even hit, on Thursday at noon. I did not lose power from the storm until Sunday at ten am. So why the hell did I have to go three days prior to the storm, followed by 10 DAYS AFTER THE STORM, before getting cable? That's half of my flipping payment cycle when I did not have cable or wifi. Had this been the other way around, Comcast would have shut down my service. There are numerous people on our block that still do not have Comcast, but never lost power. But here is the kicker, Direct plus customers in our SAME BUILDING NEVER ONCE LOST THEIR CABLE OR WIFI. Additionally, even though Direct Plus service was going strong in our building, Direct Plus's reps came by our building to make sure we had everything we needed after the storm. The service provided by these people is incredible. I have to admit, sometimes I pretend I am a Direct Plus customer, because they bring breakfast including Einstein Bros Bagels to our building before work. And Comcast? Crickets... If you are in the process of making the decision, don't make my mistake. Choose Direct Plus. When you're stuck in your home during a natural disaster, you'll be glad you did. read more

To whom it may concern, I returned my modem via return receipt via USPS and I just got the receipt back signed "covid-19", I find it extremely untasteful to received mail receipt from a "reputable company" signed that way. Called customer service and Monica the manager said that unfortunately that's probably a security officer and that's the way they have been instructed to signed. According to Monica, "the manager" she doesn't report to no one. I have received return receipts from other companies and some times instead of a name they used another phrase such as security or weekend staff. I wish I could give 0 star. read more

If I was able to give this company ZERO stars I would! Thx is by far the worst internet provider on the planet! Internet connection is awful, the service is always interrupted, customer service is awful, super slow, and they charge $80 a month for crap! Service gets interrupted every other day for no reason and they make you wait till next business day to reconnect the already awful connection you pay for!!! They need to go out of business already! read more

Direct Plus goes by and loops back to Mastec, MDU Connect and a whole list of other names. This is, 96.666% of the time, because it's a company that scams customers and then tries to run away from the PR nightmares. Sorry, it's 2013, it's a bit harder now. This company provides monopolistic television and dial-up quality Internet to various apartment buildings in and around Miami-Dade. In a quick wrap up, if you're considering a building/condo that has an illegal agreement/monopoly with Direct Plus and there's no alternative... you might want to move that building/condo to the end of your list. The Internet speeds are typically 5 Mbps down and 0.8 Mbps up. That's pathetically slow. If you use a Smart TV adapter or Apple TV... prepare to do a whole lot of waiting... and waiting... and waiting. Their "website" hardly functions and has no useful information on it. It looks like a Netscape Navigator friendly middle school homepage from the 1990s. There's a section to login and pay your bill... of course, it doesn't work. Direct Plus is Hotwire's bastard brother... yet another one of these bottom-feeding Miami companies that's getting rich by ripping people off all while stifling progress and hindering easy access. read more

I moved into my building January 1st. They informed me that I just get internet access through Direct Plus. I was quoted a price of $55 for 100mbs with a $5 deduction if I signed up with autopay. After signing up I realized I did not have the correct modem. So they charge a $10 fee to rent. No problem, I would just use this one until I got my own next month. I received a bill of $141.83. As stated previously, the quoted price given to me was $55 + $10 - 5 = $60. If they were to prorate January into February's bill. My bill should be $120. I called in to speak to someone about this. MONICA answered the phone. How this woman became a manager is beyond me. First of all, she is disgustingly rude. I told her that I was quoted a certain price and she says to me that that's what I heard, that's not what the price is! After about 30 seconds of going back and fourth I asked to speak to HER supervisor. She proceeds to tell me that she's the manager, as if she hired herself. Then after she realized that I wasn't an idiot, she told me that I could call at 8AM to speak to someone named Chris. Clearly, her and her employees need better training, on 1) Company rates and 2) Customer services. I throughly vetted the agent that signed me up, she gave me wrong information so I could sign up. That is unlawful and bad business. And based on the other reviews I could see that the employees match the quality of service: HORRENDOUS. read more

Garbage. Worst customer service, and just overall awful. If you have ANY other option, use it

When it works I'm getting 80/20 speeds. Can't complain about that. However a few weeks back a security update made my router useless. Tech support did a great job explaining what they did and how to fix. Thankfully I know how MAC addresses work so I was able to keep my router. I think the average joe would have been upset because if you dont understand MAC settings or how to change their only suggestion was to buy a linksys router. (Still makes no sense but ok). Well here I am a month later and service has been down for a few days. Tier 2 has not got back to me. I know it's not an issue on my end. Desktop wired to wall still doesn't work. This provider is my only option in my building. I work online so this is a huge issue. I suggest if you have the option don't use them. If you're stuck with them I hope your patient. read more

If I could rate this company ZERO stars I would. I'm not the type of person to leave reviews and usually I'm very understandable of service outage. But holy cow ! I have had the worst experience with this company my Internet it's always out when I called the customer service is very low quality they never help I live in the alcazar apartment I have this service because it's all they offer in this building. I haven't had internet service in two days I call this company and they claim they have an outage every Month it's a different issue ! I'm cancelling my service immediately if you can even call this company a providing service ! read more

Stay away from this company, their customer service is terrible, they never answer, never answer calls or emails, it is really a headache to have any service with this company. read more

This is the worst Internet provider with the worst customer service in the world! They advertise and charge their customers for 100mbps but most nights it's not even half a Kbps. What makes it worse is that certain buildings, like the one I live in, have this contract of exclusivity with this ridiculous company and the tenants are stuck with it. According to the letter of service I received when initiating the connection, I am paying for 100M download and 20M upload speeds just for my account. I only have a desktop connected with an ethernet cable, and a tablet and a phone to the wifi, which is practically nothing considering that 100Mbps should be more than enough for 7 devices according to the technician that set it up. It's never been 100Mbps, in the mornings it barely makes it to 60, and once 5pm strikes, it goes down to 12 - 7- Mbps. Right now it is not even 1Mbp. I call their customer service, but they are just an answering service that takes a message for someone to call you back Monday to Friday during office hours. They never call back, and when you dare call the office during office hours for customer and technical support, they are rude and inefficient. It should be illegal for rental buildings to sign contracts of exclusivity with lousy third party providers of basic services like decent Internet, especially now that so much work is done from home. Many nights I can't get any work done because of their unreliable service. It's a rip off. read more

this is the worst internet ive ever experienced for DOUBLE the price. It is incredibly slow and forget calling customer support because you'll wait for HOURS just to get transferred around and then they'll hang up and NOT CALL YOU BACK. I unfortunately cannot switch providers because my apartment only offers this but if you have the option DONT GET THIS WI-FI. read more

I want to shoot myself every time I remember the fact that I'm forced to use this provider at my apartment building. Their service offerings suck and they can't even deliver on those. On Internet, we have one option... 10mbps/1.5mbps for $45/month. I remember when I could get 24mbps/3mbps for that price with u-verse! And they actually delivered these speeds! One of those pictures posted about the 45 minutes to start a small tv show (on standard resolution) was from my TV and is a regular occurrence. As if that's not bad enough, I lose my Internet connection multiple times per day and technical assistance has a bad attitude as if I don't know what I'm talking about.. I'm 23 I grew up with this technology I know when the problem is your crap modem and not my router. I'm not going to comment on TV service since as far as I'm aware, they just resell DirecTV. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AND ANY APARTMENT COMMUNITIES THAT CONTRACT WITH THEM! EDIT: I suppose I should say that they do seem to at least make the effort to correct the problems. They do send technicians out, they do claim to "check" the connections and they have replaced my modem. For whatever reason, they just can't get it right. Whether it's that they just don't provide enough bandwidth to the building or what is the issue I'm having. If they didn't participate in revenue-sharing, they could re-invest that money they're paying to apartment communities and provide good service people would actually want rather than being forced into. read more

I was really surprised at how fast this company was able to fix our internet! Reading all the reviews I was hesitant to call but they escalated our issue twice to make sure we got the highest level of expertise. Fixed our internet after 30 short minutes! Thank you read more

I had some questions about my bill, and Monica was so sweet, and helpful. It's easy doing business with customer service like theirs.

This company is a complete steaming pile of shit. Avoid any building that uses them. I moved my existing direct tv into an apartment that had them. They screwed up the installation, didn't provide additional receivers like I was promised and then wanted to charge me additional money to come back and fix the problem they caused. Their internet is slower than 56k and barely usable. read more

I would give zero stars if possible. When I first called to report the outage, the guy who answered the phone sounded like he was out at a club and then I was told that the only "on-call" technician's phone was off...Horrible company. Terrible service and always am having issues. Good luck if your internet goes out after 7 PM getting someone to be able to fix it. Would not recommend them ever. If you have any other option USE IT read more

Seriously love when people review a worthless business with lots of stars to up the rating & only has ever reviewed 1 business...suspect! This company is a piece of crap! Avoid at all cost. Internet is expensive & it does NOT work. They double the price of the directv boxes & make you believe you have to go through them when you can really bypass this bs company & deal w/directv directly. They have an F rating on the Better Business Bureau & well deserved! They are hard to get a hold of & make you leave a message Haha yea right. I figured out by asking to tech help I could get a live person then I said this is crap & cancel it immediately. And when you call to cancel they don't even care or even ask why like most all companies do & try to get to stay lmao wonder why! Even when I personally returned the modem after less than 30 days nobody asked why or cared. They don't even have a receptionist but a locked door w/a phone & list of extensions to dial someone...maybe too many anger customers! My building is looking for another provider thank god. I'm sure this company will be closing it's doors for good very soon! read more

Would give zero stars if i could. Only reason we use this internet is because it is what our cheap ass apartment provides us with. Stay away from this company. You'll have more days without internet than with internet. read more

If I could give this company 0 stars I would. I have experienced like 7-10 outages in the 15 months that I've had an account with them. I have never experienced this amount of outages with any other company. Their customer service is horrible. They will tell you they're sending someone out and never actually do it. You have to call several times and hopefully get connected with a good customer service rep that'll actually do their job and get someone out to help. I would have left them so long ago but I think this company may have a contract with the apartments I live in, making it the only company that'll service us. If you have options don't even consider them. read more

Internet is really slow and just bad over all. I've been living in River Oaks Marina and Tower for 5 years and it's the only internet service offered to the building. Thus, I've had years of experience dealing with Direct Plus customer service and their crappy internet. Actually, as I'm typing this, I'm using my cellular data to access Yelp to write this review because the WiFi in my apartment is not working yet again...what a surprise! In this day and age, internet service shouldn't be an issue. read more

Sucks, everything about this company is awful, zero customer service, hold times are ridiculous, hold music is repeated every 10 seconds with the same recording, they dont care, and they don't have to because ALL OF THE CUSTOMERS ARE FORCED TO HAVE THEM PER HOA. This company blows. I can't believe living in a luxury building, they force you to use the ABSOLUTE worst internet providers in history. I work from home- THERE IS AN OUTAGE WEEKLY!!! This week, it caused my project to be SIX hours late!! Costing me HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS!!!! Had I known how terrible this would be- I would have chosen another building. read more

If you care about using the internet in any fashion this company's services are NOT for you. The most unreliable internet connection I've paid for in 10 years of living in south Florida. I pay for 100mbs and rarely ever achieve that. I spend every other week on call with their support team (who continually forward me to the next guy). The internet is spotty and consistently dips as low as 11 down 18 up. Most of the time normal streaming services won't even load properly (YouTube, twitch, cable, gaming platforms, standard videos). I am forced to use this company due to my buildings requirements, but I would never go out of my way to pay for Direct Plus' services. Highly advise to source another company's services if possible. read more

There's no words to explain how much I fucking hate this company, moved to the Doral view apartment's which is a pretty nice place but they're pre wired with direct which is the dumbest shit you could do , my Internet keeps going off and they told me they can't help me over the phone and also they can't send anybody here to fix it, how the fuck do I fix this then? What am I paying for ? Why would you pre wire these apartments with this dumb fucking company read more

This internet service is very very very very poor. Please do not take this. The worst is for the people who live in the buildings who are contracted with this company, your literally stuck with horrible internet. And I have to leave an amazing building, just because of this problem. The tech people are nice, and have tried to fix it many times, But it's not the tech's fault, it's the company at fault for this. Even direct tv is pretty bad too, just a little cloud cover is enough and the whole cable is down. read more

Austin's review is 100% accurate. This company is total shit. My building has an agreement with DirectPlus. This means that in the home I pay a shit ton to live in, I am stuck with using only them for internet & TV. I can live with the TV service, since it's DirecTV and I was already a DirecTV subscriber, but the internet packages they offer (especially upstream) are no where close to sufficient enough. Our downstream speed is actually ok, from 10-12 mbps, but it's coupled with between .5 and .7 mbps upstream. This is enough for one device to perform with mediocrity. If you value internet capability in the least, stay away from any properties using these scam artists. read more

What a waste of money. Ive had their "upgraded" services for 18 months, They have never delivered even close to what they say they have (40MBps). I barely get 6MBps. Ive called "technical support" over 4 times through out 18 months and I swear these guys don't do anything productive or solve any issue. Its like talking to a wall. The worst part is that I'm forced to pay at least 55 dollars that is part of my rent for their heinous service. They are the only service allowed in my building at the Slade in Tampa Florida. STAY AWAY from Direct Plus. The only thing they do well is take your money and take you on a loop of BS over the phone. I have wasted $1800 on this worthless service they call internet. I have no idea how these guys are not considered scammers! read more

At first, I was very skeptical in using this service due to previous poor experiences with local ISP's and the reviews were certainly not confidence-inspiring. However, after 2 months with Direct Plus, I can honestly say that they have provided me with the best experience in dealing with an ISP that I have ever had. For one, while it is a bit pricier than other companies, I can confidently say that I pay for 40 mbs and I consistently get 40 mbs, no slowdown and not a single outage since signing up. That is much better than what I can say for other mainstream providers that I've dealt with. Secondly, while I have only needed to contact customer service a few times (to set up my service and to ask some questions about billing), each encounter has been fantastic. Its refreshing to deal with live personnel who are also personable. They even went out of their way to ask me how my experience with the ISP was thus far and if there were any areas that I thought could see some improvement. Not some questionnaire sent to me by email, but a live person asking me how I felt about their service. My only complaints are: 1) while the service is consistent, I do feel it to be a bit pricey compared to their competitors, and it can feel a little exploitative, at least in my personal situation, as they have a contract with my apartment community and are the only ISP available to me 2) the account/billing website is a bit of a mess and not user-friendly in the least. I had difficulty navigating it, checking my bill, and could not tell if auto-pay was on or not which necessitated a call to customer service. Despite these issues, I feel that Direct Plus is a fine service that initially had its share of problems, but is now on the right track to being a great provider. read more

Modem Return Scam. Discontinued Internet service when I left the Slade in Tampa. I asked them what the process was to return their modem. They reply, just leave it in the apartment. Atrocious. Recently moved to Olivine in Coconut Creek and Direct Plus is the sole internet provider for the area and service is included with the rent. I'm Comptia A+ certified and very tech savy but that does nothing for shoddy infrastructure with I cannot even begin to describe how bad their is. Download speed isn't bad (around 5 to 6 Mbps) but upload speeds are rarely above 0.49 Mbps. Still for an included service that would be fine, if the ping rate wasn't constantly in the 300's. Basic surfing, and downloading single files here and there are OK, but if you need to maintain a steady connection for work or want to stream Netflix or Amazon Prime, you're out of luck. They offer an upgrade package which I took, but that did nothing to solve the ping rates or solid connections so now I'm stuck paying for upgraded service and still can't maintain a connection long enough to work from home without tethering my mobile. I cannot recommend their service or any community that forces you into their service. read more

Despite all of the negative reviews on here, I would like to say that I had a nice experience with DirectPlus. They were usually always able to take my call or would call back, and seeing as they are a smaller business, I was understanding. The speeds in the building I lived in were always decent. I could download at about 2 mb down with the "faster" option, and while that is not stellar for the price, it was much better than I was expecting after reading reviews. read more
