I had to ask for a recommendation from the staff person- she pointed to the Twix and the Coconut donuts as her faves. I went all in with the coconut crème. I can describe it as a yeasty donut being the canvas for the pie contents to rest. Like a crust... the custard of the pie, the whipped cream of the pie and the toasted coconut of the were all stacked on the donut. Wonderfully created. It was sticky... you'll need a stack of damp napkins on hand for clean up. (You have been warned!) I was on my way to the airport wrapping up my business trip. I am trying to figure out how I can get one tomorrow morning...

Dollars They gave me a receipt with just one cost not an itemized receipt so I came back and asked why. The young man said it's two dollars per flavor and two dollars for almond milk besides the cost of the cappuccino so what a medium cappuccino cost like $12. Baloney and it was disgusting and and so was the sandwich. Couldn't even eat it. What a rip off. They kept telling me almond milk cost more money. What a joke. This establishment doesn't even have their name or logo on the cups but they want to charge 12 or $13 for a cup of coffee. Give me a break.

I picked up a dozen today and we were all so very disappointed. Every filled donut had 25% (or less) of the filling they've had prior. You would have to bite way into the donut to finally reach the filling and after taking two bites the filling was gone. This conclusion was unanimous by the way. In the past, when you would bite into a filled donut, the filling would ooze out, and every bite would be have more than adequate filling, and now we could barely find any. When I told this to a friend, she told me they had stopped purchasing Dippin Donuts at least from that location for the very same reason. I don't know if it is just this location or if it is across the board at all locations, but it is undeniably obvious when you bite into a doughnut now from the Leicester location that it has greatly changed. I don't where those directions to change the recipe so drastically came from, but unless you go back to making your donuts the way you always have in the past, we definitely will not be buying donuts from there again and wouldn't recommend it. Did you change the recipe and/or also decide to cut way way back on the filling for a reason? Rocco's is also very consistent. You can expect that no matter what doughnut you're getting, the yeast donut or cake rings will always be the same - just vary by topping. This is a really good thing, since they've been open for so long and haven't changed their doughnut recipe. Besides their fun and unique monthly flavors, the good ones I always find myself going back to are the Boston Creme, Maple Bacon, and Apple Fritter. These are classics that are almost always be on the menu. I'm also pretty sure Rocco's has the best Boston Creme in Boston. It's a small shop with tons of options, friendly folk at the counter, and delicious photo-worthy doughnuts. What's not to love?
