While getting gas on our way out of Key West, we smelled that unmistakable fried chicken smell. Hubby went in the quick mart to get some drinks for the road and came out with fried chicken. People... I'm telling you... this is the best darn fried chicken I've ever had in my life! Do yourself a huge favor and get some fried chicken, and head on out to the Fort Zachary Beach and enjoy. Then go back for Kermits key lime pie later ;) read more

Been stopping at this DM's for more than three decades. I stopped in looking for chicken, and was a little disappointed. This is still a good place to stop for drinks and snack snacks, beer and energy drinks. It's conveniently located in Newtown. read more

Seriously the best vacuum cleaner for vacuuming out your car in key west. It's on the side, kind of hidden. You can go in and ask for quarters - you need $2.50 for four minutes. There's sometimes a long line at the cashier, especially when chicken is fresh from the fryer. Gas is priced the same as everywhere else. read more

If you're using this gas station as your usual....be careful, they are charging people twice for the amount of gas intended to be purchased. Happened to me and to a hand full of other costumers on the same day. When I asked for reasons they dismissed me and acted like I was an annoyance to them. They refuse to provide any information on the store manager or how to contact said manager. Still waiting for my money to be refunded. This happened more than 10 days ago. read more

This is now a Circle K. The entire store has been renovated and cleaned. The staff is courteous. I want to spotlight one employee - a tall dark gentleman that works nights. Can we get 100 more people like him in this world? I had a bad day, and I took my frustrations our on him. I had never seen him before and he wasn't as fast as I wanted him to be and I was honestly being rude. He totally deescalated the situation and has been nothing but respectful every time I have seen him since. I am humbled by his grace, and I'm sorry I picked on you for being slower. I should have felted honored to have someone spend their time on me. I know better now. If you see a tall dark man at this Circle K on Flagler, just know that's a really special person with an incredible heart that teaches strangers about forgiveness through example. Sometimes you learn more about God in a gas station than you do church. Manager - you have hired an awesome crew and I would love to give them all compliments. I have a hard time with accents and they are so kind to me making sure I have everything way I want it. I think you have the best staff on the island of any retail store. Thank you. read more

This is not the Dion's I went to, but I don't think it matters, because they're probably all pretty similar. Yes, it's a gas station. Yes, it's a quick mart. But holy Jesus, it's the best fried chicken you'll ever have. Cheapest, too. read more

Horrid. Those who wrote this was good have problems. The chicken was dry and the sides were terrible. It just had a weird flavor to it. Yuk.

Note: This review is for the chicken only. Although it's a very nice station with a wide variety of foods, that's not what I went in for and I really didn't pay attention to anything that wasn't battered and fried. 1. I can't believe I'm reviewing a service station. I especially can't believe I'm reviewing a service station's food. 2. This is not the exact location that I went to, but I'm assuming that the brand is relatively uniform across locations. 3. The fried chicken is DELICIOUS. I waited for a fresh batch to come out of the fryolater because there was only one thigh left and I needed more than that. It met and exceeded every expectation I had. I love the batter. I love the chicken. Its crispy and salty and perfectly coated in batter. You should try it. REALLY. You should try it. read more

Best fried chicken on the island at a non descriptive convenience store. Plus they have gas and lots of snacks but the chicken is the draw come in early because they sometimes run out. 7.49 for 3 piece chicken and 2 sides read more

May as well grab a corn dog...bang bang as well! Always seems to be fresh which is rare from a gas station/convenience store. read more

I guess my secret is out! Some of the best fried chicken I have had comes from a Gas station. I think it's pretty cool. If your from the South Carolina you know about the Dodge store gas station chicken. Well this is South Florida version. They closed our local KFC and this is the only place to get fried chicken that's not sit down. I went into this thinking It was going to be bad gas food station food but it was quite good! For locals wanting some fried chicken I would suggest you check it out at least once. read more

"It's a 'quick mart' in a filling station, how good can it be" you ask? Very, very good. A KeyWest local took me to Dion's late one night. It seems all the locals know about Dion's and now I know why. Like all of them, I am hooked. Think KFC with less atmosphere. read more

Don't be scared that this is a gas station. This is THE PLACE IN KEY WEST FOR LATE NIGHT DRUNK EATS. I don't care what time of day it is, the fried chicken here was so good that I didn't even feel bad eating it in front of the wild baby chicks in key west. They probably wanted a bite too. This is the locals late night eats. Trust me on this. read more

Note, i went to the Dions on Truman. Five stars for the fried chicken. Grab some jamaican beef patties, too. Delicious. Not just the best chicken on the island. Some of the best fried chicken ever. Any local will send you there. Not bad on the budget, either. Worth the trip for a sack of fried chicken take out. read more

Oh Em Gee!! The best fried chicken south of North Carolina. My aunt and uncle used to make fun of me for eating this but all kidding aside, what does she know, vegetarian. :0)Every out of town guest they ever hosted would declare it so, but they will never be convinced it seems. Sure, it's a gas station. Sure, there are varying degrees of shadness at each location. Sure, some of that shadyness might be coming from the person serving it to you, but you still have to try it. They make it fresh like every hour or so I believe but I've even asked them to fry me a new batch when there was nothing but breasts left. They also have corn dogs -stay away, fried okra, fries, mashed potatoes, hush puppies, mac and cheese, or poppers and some other sides. Grab some hot sauce packets and a big ass soda and plop down and enjoy it right there on the sidewalk or in the car. Oh and yes I reviewed gas station chicken. Dont judge me. PS: its literally like 5 bucks a person for a lot of food read more

Everything you've heard is true. It's the BEST fried chicken ANYWHERE. One problem . . . You need a car, scooter or bicycle to get here. Well, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? read more

If I hadn't read the reviews here I would never have risked the fried chicken at this location. Let's face it - you cannot ever expect to get good chicken at a gas station. However, we thoroughly the meal we got. We picked the pieces we wanted, got fresh fries to go with it and for a modest price we ate for 2 meals. The chicken was hot, juicy, crispy & delicious. Don't let the decor fool ya folks - this is good chicken. read more

As noted by others here, I can't believe I am reviewing a gas station! I admit that I am a foodie, fer cryin' out loud. However, I have to say that this fried chicken ranks among the best EVER, and I have lived in Virginia for 25 years. Crispy, crunchy crust, not peppery (which I much prefer), generous, & the meat was tender & moist & lean. Really fabulous. The sides - mac & cheese, sweet potato fries and corn bread were excellent also. Unbelievably inexpensive. This is the kind of fried chicken I will go home craving. This is the best kept secret in Key West. read more

The fried chicken is the best. Also, the Rooselvelt Blvd. Quick Mart serves the most amazing eggs for breakfast - they are made with sausage and potatoes. Not sure if the other locations offer eggs. The biscuits are also delish. It's so hilarious to stand next to your car and eat everything there. It's part of the experience. read more
