The staff is flat out lazy. They don't read the orders. When they get the order wrong they demand to see the receipt via you rather than looking it up. We ordered a pizza with 1/2 pepperoni and the whole thing with black olives. They made it the opposite. My partner is vegetarian so he doesn't eat meat. Rather than looking it up the "manager" argued with him. I provided the receipts showing they got it wrong. So they threw a really messed up pizza in a box within 10 minutes for us. How? Well they sell pizza by the slice so they have plain cheese on deck, so when they mess up they just get one of those old suckers, put corrected topping on, and put it to warm for a minute making a MESS of the whole thing. They cannot even right their wrongs. Is this the 1st time? Nope. Dare to order something without meat? Single topping? Be prepared for the same old OLD pizza with your random toppings thrown together with some extra cheese... Totally lazy. Nothing has been made fresh. Dion's is steady and true, always. This is the place where highschoolers hang out with their friends, where they get their first job, and where families come to eat. They're all over town, but this particular one is the only one in the South Valley. I'll be up front here, I don't ever eat the pizza. I'm not a fan, so I stick to salads and subs here. I love the ranch salad- the salad is always the good kind, the veggies are fresh and crisp, the pastrami and cheese is perfect, and the croutons are crunchy. Being a creature of habit, I also like the pastrami sub here, though the meatball is delicious also. I'm not talking the best you'll ever have, but reliably good, filling, and flavorful. For dessert, I always make it a point to grab a brownie. They have them with or without walnuts, and they are fab. The ranch dressing here is some of the best you'll find anywhere, and is a local favorite with many. Refills on your drinks are free, and their lemonade is awesome. As I said above, this is the place where highschoolers work. You order at the counter, and they call your name when your food's ready. There's no table service, but they do wipedown tables throughout the day. They offer paper plates, silverware, and all of the necessary supplies to have a feast and you won't break the bank doing it. It is a green chili and pepperoni pizza. We got a small side salad with the green chili ranch dressing. Regular size pizza. We ate more than we should have for just the two of us but still had plenty for dinner the next day. I would highly recommend checking this place out. Best consistent and quality pizza in ABQ. Couldn't get over how flavorful it was. If you're new to NM stick to the classic: get a pepperoni pizza with green chili topping. I typically forget to do my Yelp Check In when I visit most restaurants but, my family feeds here regularly. Dions, regardless of what franchise you visit, are always spotless! And, their staff? Anyway, if I could offer some constructive criticism, I'd ask Dions to start making Hot Chicken Wings. If they did, I wouldn't have to make two stops [another at pizza 9] for weekend dinners and football games. Told them I was missing items-she looks at receipt and says she will be right back. 5:10 brings out the lemonade and missing dressing bottles- wrong dressing bottles- so looks at receipt again and "will be tight back"- 5:22 brings right dressing bottles. Dions is probably one of my favorite restaurants when I come to Albuquerque. The sandwiches are ridiculously good. The bread is always perfectly toasted on the outside while still being soft enough to not destroy the palate in my mouth. The pizza is always good and the salads are very generous with deli meat. This place was a solid pick tonight. They were fairly busy on a Friday night with the usual , families and children, young kids and couples. We had the duke city and half salads and both were delicious. The green chile ranch was pretty tasty ! This pizza has no sauce and is just turkey green chile and cheese - thin crust. The food was ordered online and was more than 10 minutes late. This is the third time my order was late, burned, or wrong. No adults behind the counter. This is the only Dions I've been to that has terrible service and food. Stay away from this location unless you can tolerate the huge negatives. Tried it again (I'm dumb). I ordered 3 pizzas, cheese bread, family salad and drinks.. waited over 45 minutes to be ready. When I get there to pick up my order, the kid at the window said " just to let you know, we are out of salad mix so we are gonna mix some other lettuces in to make a large salad.. ok?" I told her not if you expect me to pay the full $14 price for it! She proceeds to bring 3 different tubs of lettuce to the window to show that it will be "about" the right amount! I love dions pizza lets get that out of the way but this particular store is lack luster. The staff seems to be more concerned with messing around and acting up then service. The pizza is always good but the salads vary greatly in quality from visit to visit as well as the sub's ( quantity of ingredients mostly sometimes I get a small hogs worth of meat other times I think they just wave it at the bowl and hope some of the flavor lands on the lettuce ) probably just growing pains and hope it improves as time goes on. read more

Dion's is a welcome addition to the South Valley. The restaurant is clean, the service is prompt, cheerful, and helpful, the food is outstanding, both in flavor and relative value. I appreciate the option of ordering online and then driving through to pick up my food. A meatball sub takes 10 minutes to prepare, a large pizza 20 minutes. All can be customized to add or subtract ingredients to suit your exact preferences. I've never had a bad experience there, and I eat there weekly. read more
