Such a cool spot. We accidentally stumbled in here last night and wow!! We'll definitely be back! Great vibes and such good banter! Love this spot, unfortunately it's only open 3 nights a week. Run efficiently by just several lovely folks, this no frills bar serves an extensive menu of bar food. Between two people, we like to share a salad and a burger / sandwich. Portions are decent. While I wouldn't consider the food gourmet, everything is made to order and comes out fresh. The wall of hot sauce is fun, but none of them very spicy. The folks manning this place are down to earth and provide great service. Rather than a date night spot, it is more of a spot to enjoy a drink and dinner after a hard week of work. To top it off, there's always an action movie from the 80s or 90s on TV--perfect complement to the food and ambiance. read more

We recently stopped by this spot for a bite and a beer and were greeted by the very friendly owner. He made us feel welcome and right at home. We had the boneless Buffalo chicken wings, a salad and the zucchini. Everything was delicious. Boneless Buffalo wings were crispy with loads of flavor. Maybe my favorite around! As a loyal Lunch Box customer, over the past recent trips slipped in my sandwich is a flyer for Dinner House - the owners, who come from Oakland eatery pedigree (the IB's family) have opened up a dinner spot 3 nights a week. As I like Lunch Box, I wanted to give them a shot, but as they are only open Thursday through Saturday nights, sometimes it doesn't align. Well, with an open Saturday night and no dinner plans, I decided to try it out. You walk past the well done parklet (next to the also great Kon-Tiki parklet) into a new spot featuring a long bar, some tables, a projection tv and a flat screen playing local games. The co-owners greeted me, and hearing my voice, asked if I was a Lunch Box customer (had to tell with a mask on your face). I said I was and they gave me the run down - the eclectic menu is based on foods they like, which explains the interesting mix of - Bar Food: Buffalo Wings, Buffalo Fries, Chicken Tenders, and Burgers. Southern Food: Corn Fritters, Beef Brisket Plate, Southern Bourbon Burger, and Meatloaf. Italian: Fried Ravioli, Cheese Raviolis, Pasta Alfredo, and Pasta with Meat Sauce. Plus other options like a reuben, fish and chips or shrimp and chips, and 4 salads. I hadn't had pasta in a while so got an order to go of the pasta alfredo, added shrimp, an order of the corn fritters (I am from the South) and while I waited got their Old Fashioned. The Old Fashioned was delicious. Smooth and sweet, went down before my food even arrived. But as I was checking out the liquor selection, one caught my eye. As I finished my drink, the co-owner working the bar and reading my mind asked if I had a nut allergy before pouring me a sample of Pecan Rye. He joked that he must be responsible for 250 bottles being sold, and he sold me on it - it's slightly nutty, but very much enjoyable infused whiskey. Wouldn't mind trying it with vanilla ice cream some time. The corn fritters were not what I was expecting, but were really good. I was expecting more hushpuppy-style - golf ball-sized fried cornmeal. Instead these were nugget-sized. They were really good bites of fried goodness, with sweet corn inside. Likewise the pasta was not what I was expecting. You see alfredo, you typically think fettuccine, but this was rigatoni. I enjoy rigatoni, so it worked. The sauce is decent, not saying its mind blowing, as I did pour some sriracha on it to kick it up a bit. The shrimp were 6 jumbo shrimp (turns out 2 were buried in the sauce and noodles), which were tasty. And it comes with a side of garlic bread cause carbs on carbs! Update: As the pasta was a lot of food, I had the leftovers, and they came out great, as is the case with most pasta. All in all, would definitely hit this place back up. It's still a bit funky as it is hard to classify. But I will come back for their burger, fried ravioli, and probably the chicken tenders. read more

My sister and I happened upon the Dinner House during an art event in the area. So happy to have lucked up on this family owned bar and grill. My sister ordered the Cheesesteak which she enjoyed. I had the Ribeye Steak. I normally am not a fan of gravy, but the Dinner House changed my mind. It was delicious! The veggies were seasoned well and also delicious. The drinks were also great. This is a family run operation & I'm happy to support their new restaurant. I've tried the mac & cheese bites, coconut shrimp, corn fritters, cobb salad (my favorite), grilled chicken sandwich, chicken tenders (which are breaded in house, no bagged tenders here), fish & chips, and the southern bourbon & classic burger... so far & LITERALLY EVERYTHING has been delicious, with the burger probably being one of the best burgers I've eaten in a long time! The Cob Salad is delicious with ranch & its my favorite item on the menu right now. But the Southern Bourbon Burger is a close second... holy heck its basically a high end Western Burger from Carl's Jr but with out the fast food ick. Everything tastes so fresh & delicious, including everything fried. The mac & cheese bites & corn fritters are my favorite apps. Perhaps one day I'll consider one of the others, but today is not that day because I'm currently a fritter addict. Their fries are really tasty & always crisp, even if I've let my food sit in a takeout container for a hot minute, which is impressive because fries are easy to ruin with sogginess but Dinnerhouse does some magic & they're always tasty. Ordered food for takeout here and everything was great! Got the fish and chips, wings, and Caesar salad. The fish was fried perfectly. The malt vinegar was a nice touch too. The fries wee also very tasty. The wings were cooked perfectly with delicious blue cheese sauce. And the salad was BIG and very good. The dressing was creamy and delicious.
