Shout out to Clarksburg/ West Sacramento area... After buying some live fresh crab at Ferrari Fishery stand and stopping by Dave's farm stand in West Sacramento, I continued on for a casual drive to the Delta town of Clarksburg. We kept driving south on the same road...S River Road. Right on S River Road in Clarksburg is Dinky Diner. It is a tiny road side stand serving up burgers, dogs (hot dog,Polish, and corn dog), sandwiches (BLT, tuna's salad, tuna melt, grilled cheese), fries, onion rings, sundaes, root beer float, and ice cream bars. Classic Americana favorites made from quality ingredients. Yummy. The vibe is welcoming, the clientele is diverse. They accept cash or card payments. They have covered picnic table dining area with a view of the Sacramento River. Absolutely calm and gorgeous. I have stopped by here many times over the many years. The burgers, fries, and hot dog are my go to. The burgers taste like fresh pounded patties, the fries come out hot n crisp, and the hot dogs are of quality. I dig their food, and have enjoyed my meals here. Prices are not outrageous. Hot dogs $6, $11 combo ( canned soda and chips). Desserts $4-$6. Tip: They have a small boat that they converted with a table and seats, the kiddos would luv sitting in that. Or even grownups. But it's a bit snug for adults. It's dinky, it's only open on certain days and hours, but it's definitely delicious. I highly recommend that you check this place out and if you can dine there so you can enjoy your meal by the river. The tables are nice and comfortable and you cannot get that view anywhere else. There's so many options to choose from such as chicken and burgers. There's parking right out front on the dirt road. Yum, Yum, YUMMY!!! I have been driving by Dinky Dinner everyday for a year. I always say to myself, I need to try this cute diner!!! Well, today was the day. The weather was perfect, clear sunny day, boats coasting up and down the river. I yelped Dinky Diner's menu, and their burger's and hot dogs looked really yummy!!! The Clarksburg Burger looked delicious!!! Bacon, cheese, onion rings!!!!! And I ordered a Hot Dog. I ordered the combo for each which means it comes with fries and a soda. After I ordered the food, I walked around to take in the view of the river. What a beautiful view!! They have an eating area with shade canopy's to sit, eat and enjoy the scenery!!! While driving home, I could smell bacon, onion rings, and fries!!! It was very hard to not start eating the hot fries!!!! Once home, I took out the two combo's, the hot dog was filleted and grilled with onions, ketchup, relish, and mustard. I took a huge bit and my taste buds all awoke to enjoy this hot dog. It was delicious, and there was a good amount of French fries!!! I am a fan of hot dogs, and I will say this was a great one!!! I did not order the Clarksburg Burger but I could smell the ingredients. Grilled hamburger, bacon, onion rings, and bbq sauce. I asked how the burger was, he said this is awesome!!! There is plenty of outdoor seating that overlooks the river. The staff is friendly. On weekends there's 2 people but during the week you can find the owner taking orders and cooking the food. The food does take a while but that is because it is made to order. While you're waiting relax and enjoy the beautiful views. Hands down the best onion rings I've ever had!! I've had a lot of meals at this little place on the river. Back when there was very little out here t do for tourists from town, the Dinky Diner was here to feed fisherman and locals in Clarksburg. They're a place to count on for good diner burgers and other sandwiches come lunchtime. Alas, the most recent visit was late on a Sunday. They were still open, but apparently, it had been a busy weekend with all the good weather and air. They had no more burger patties!. Instead, I tried one of their grilled cheese sandwiches. No surprise that these are good, too. Nice, butter- There was ample sunshaded seating and pump bottles of alcohol hand sanitizer.toasted bread and lots of good cheese melted in the middle. So, be warned: if you come too late in the afternoon on a Sunday, they might be out of the ever-popular burgers. read more

The perfect stop after a tasting at the wineries near by! We stopped at this lunch spot after tasting wines at Bogle since its nearby and right by the river. You can take it to go or site at the shaded area by the river. This is a small food truck with delicious bugers, hot dogs, and polish dogs! Choose from fries or onion rings, and they even have pumpkin milkshakes if you want a fall treat. Enjoy the shade and the river while eating your lunch. The fries are bomb! The Dinky is a great hamburger spot in the Delta! Located in clarksburg the dinky diner has been a staple in clarksburg for long time. It's right off the river road and has good parking with a river view. They have tables outside and covered areas. It's all outside seating which is perfect to get that view of the Sacramento River and the clarksburg town. The hamburgers are fresh and taste great and they make them anyway you like them. Fries are fresh and hot. My son loves their hotdog, they come out with the perfect grill marks and the way he enjoyed them with all the fixings. It's a local family that owns the dinky diner and they usually have help from local school kids. Amazing location right next to the river I went with my friends and family. The service was good. The food was amazing. I had one of their specials so you might not be able to have the same that I had but I would recommend their double cheeseburger my brother had it and he said it was awesome. Real "diner-style" food while being entertained by the beauty of the Sacramento river...this is why I love the Dinky Diner. The owners gave their food truck a forever home and have been making delicious cheeseburgers and hamburgers for the locals and wine tasting tourists ever since. The Dinky Diner is conveniently located on River Road in Clarksburg and it's a hop skip and a jump from the Old Sugar Mill winery tasting rooms. This diner is extremely small is really small...or should I say "dinky" and thus its easy to miss. Keep this in mind when you are driving along the levy in addition to the fact that Dinkys' is actually on the "River side" of the levy as opposed to the land side, which also makes it such a unique little diner to visit. In addition to the delicious diner style food you automatically get a very romantic view to soak in. For my meal I ordered the Clarksburg with cheese (of course), fries ,and a bottle of water. My fries were lightly seasoned and far from greasy. And my hand pressed burger was made to perfection, which in my opinion is medium (again that is my opinion, as mi hermana would totally disagree since she likes to "ruin" her food and ask for everything to be charred crispy.) Needless to say, the Dinky Diner provides convenient fast service in a non conventional setting as all dining is done al fresco. I personally chose to sit on the ledge that overlooks the Sacramento R., as I enjoy tho watch the picturesque view of our beautiful delta, and more importantly, the serenity it automatically provides. If you are looking for good "fast" food, and need to get AWAY from the office I think you should try the Dinky Diner. This little place is off the grid just enough so that no one will find you...the perfect lunch time hideway to let your brain unwind. The view is amazing. All of the seating is outside and has a River view. The food is good but basic. The Chicken Salad was really small and not worth the price at all. The burgers are good. My daughter wanted a plain burger with no bun. When she got it, it had mustard, mayo, ketchup, and all veggies. She wasn't happy with that. My youngest loved the Hot dog.
