There is talk that when Abraham was up on the mountain top, there was some discussion about carving out Number 11 which was to be a detailed guide on how to correctly accomplish the above, but Abraham had a premonition that Dink's would come along a few centuries down the road and be able to handle this with minimal Divine Intervention. And so it was dropped. When looking for a place to enjoy the local brand of BBQ, there are a few tell tale signs. When I drove past and saw 2 large custom painted vans set up to deliver this pork goodness to the remote stretches, I screeched The Beast to a sudden halt and did a hard left into the parking lot. It could get no better than this. Although the parking lot was pretty full, I went in. No wait, yay! I was greeted and shown to my table by the very polite greeter who took my drink order. Why do I always feel guilty when I order a Diet Coke to accompany the carnage about to commence? The drink was delivered as was a menu. There is a Yelp check in offer for a deal on appetizers, but I was going right to the Real Deal: The Dink's Sampler Platter. On the menu, it listed the meats that come with the platter along with a selection of sides (pick two...mine were Baked Beans and Curly Q Fries, both exactly perfect). When the waitress came to take my order, she said that I could change up the meats if I wanted to....but the selections listed were exactly what I was looking for. The only other question to answer was if I wanted the Beef and Pork sliced or pulled. Slice the pork, mash up the beef. Off she went to get this together for me. I usually take the time between order and eat to post a pithy tip on Yelp and check other Social Media Sites. What, no service on my phone? Actually, that was a blessing because it gave me a chance to soak in the Joint. And Dink's is exactly that: A Joint. To me, that is the Highest of Praise for a BBQ Place. Shiny, sparkly, and plastic is the type of place that claims BBQ but actually takes whatever the Sysco truck delivered that morning, heats it up, and dumps some Heinz BBQ sauce on it. A joint usually includes a dude lovingly stirring a pot of tangy homemade BBQ sauce, adding just the right amount of seasoning to make it perfect. You want your babyback babyback babyback ribs? Then go to that place where the servers wear Bling. You want something authentic? Go to Dink's. Look, the Bartlesville Fire Department has what I suspect is a Usual Table in the place. Maybe that would be the one line review that would merit 5 stars all on its own! The food came out. My arteries involuntarily flinched while my taste buds ran rampant. Picture a somewhat rabid Pavlov's Dog salivating out of control and you have a perfect mental image of my state at this moment.....and I hadn't even unwrapped my fork from the napkin! Speaking of napkins, the good people of Dink's know and understand the deal: The table is pre-loaded with a hefty supply of napkins...because you are going to need them. I dove into the feast, vaguely contemplating how wrong it would be to forgo the supplied utensils and merely bury my face in the plate and rip the meat in my teeth. Since I was a Stranger in a Strange land, though, I resisted temptation and did it the Civilized Way. Within minutes, I was wearing Dink's Sauce on my Business Casual button down shirt like a Badge of Honor. Everything on that plate was perfect. Pork, beef, sausage, ribs. If a fly had met its untimely demise on that plate, it would have been devoured and relished. When the carnage had ceased and the plate was (mostly) empty, my server came by with the Most Ridiculous Question possible: What can I bring you for dessert? Maybe a wheelchair so I can somehow transport my rapidly expanding girth out to The Beast. Seriously, I have no idea why they even have dessert on the menu...the portions are huge, but it is so good there is no way that any Earthly Creature can stop while Protein is still visible on the plate. Dink's gets it. And gives it out. Both in massive quantities. As a true connoisseur of All Things Pork and Smoke, my hat is off to you, Dink's. Change nothing and you will enjoy a long and prosperous life. read more

Maybe the locals that have not ventured far from home find it great, but for myself and four others that travel America eating out a couple of times each day at different restaurants different cities, this place was not even alright. She kept me re-filled with frosty mugs of root beer and had no qualms about redeeming a Yelp check-in for a free 1/2 order of onion straws. I later read that it was for buying 2 entree's but she comped me without a word. The onion straw basket was ridiculously gigantic and addictive. I'm kinda torn on Dink's. There was good: like the service, the BBQ sauce, the frosty mug for beer, the BBQ beans (yes they are sweet) the atmosphere is good for a greasy dive. Maybe the pork is or sausage is good - I didn't try everything. There was not so good also: Ribs on the 2 meat plate were pretty bad, fatty, membrane, and pretty greasy. The brisket wasn't anything to get excited about, BBQ 1/2 chicken was just too smoky for me. The sides: we only liked 3 out 4, BBQ beans got the nod from me. Potato salad was not even cold and lacked flavor, coleslaw just don't, pinto beans not so much - they weren't bad just not my thing. Try it though, maybe you'd like it. It was a Monday night, not too many cars in the parking lot but we waited to be seated for 25 minutes for a party of 6, which by the way were two children (5 and 6mos) and 4 adults. We waited another 10-15 minutes after being seated for a server. When our food arrived one of the sandwiches had a hair, when the waitress took it and came back to say it would be a few minutes for the new one to come, she justified it by saying it was a string from the apron not an actual hair but they were making a new plate. The meat was warm at best, fries were cold. I've eaten at Dink's for years and it seems that it continues to decline. I really hate to give Dink's a bad review but "it is what it is." I've been eating at Dink's since the day it opened and bragged about it for decades. Came to B'ville for a visit last weekend and HAD to eat there. Unfortunately, the food has gone way downhill! I had a pulled pork sandwich that was dry and bland potato salad that looked like it had been sitting out in the heat. It had a greasy sheen on the top and I was afraid to eat it. My hubby had a brisket sandwich that he said was good and a rib that was dry. We had the fried pickle appetizer also. It was a HUGE portion and they were tasty. I hope we just came on a bad night but from the looks of the other reviews, it seems like the restaurant has become very inconsistent. Maybe when I come next time, it will be better. Okay, so we were driving back to Tulsa from the tall grass prairie preserve via Bartlesville and wanted a place to eat. Came across this joint and after reading some of the reviews here on yelp wanted to give it a shot. Bad idea...this place was pretty worn down and although the smell of BBQ emanated throughout the restaurant this place was not good. I had the sliced brisket...it was pretty rubbery and not very good. Seemed like it was leftover from the last week. The onion strings were decent, but the cole slaw not so much. Too much celery salt and pretty watered down. On the bright side, the server was really nice and efficient. On the down side, the food tasted like ass and was pretty bad and really overpriced. Dink's has serviceable and hearty portions of barbeque at low prices. The quality of the food is subpar. I had the sampler platter with sliced brisket, sausage, ribs and pulled pork. The pork was good, the rest not so much. For starters, everything was drowned in a not very memorable sauce. After that, the ribs and brisket were tough and not very flavorful. I had barbeque on previous trips west and this doesn't measure up to places that take the care and time to do it really well. This is a place you can get fed, but you won't have any transcendant barbeque experiences here. The platter came with some side dishes that were pretty good. I bragged on this place and took my friends who had never been here. We drove from Tulsa. We were so disappointed. We stood 10 min waiting because the waitress wanted to seat us at a table that was in the front. We heard the waitresses discussing who would serve us. One came and told us they were waiting for a group to finish before we could be seated. I walked through to use the bathroom and every booth was empty. We were finally seated after 12 min. The purple haired waitress brought us new fries but never asked about any of our food. There was no manager in sight. I will never eat there again. Thanks Yelp for this great find. We took the little ones to the Bartlesville Kiddie Park a couple of weeks ago and I decided to find a place to eat using only Yelp. Dink's was busy and loud, and I liked it. I ordered the Hot Pig sandwich with curly fries - 'twas good! We also got a full order of Onion Strings. We should have listened to Jim M. and got the half order. A full order is about 5lbs of onions and was just too much. Also, the food comes out so fast that the appetizer came out a full minute before the food. The kids meals were huge. For about $3 our child got as much food as the $7 brisket sandwich. Great value. Dink's BBQ is a local favorite and considering the food and service I can see why. Since I had not eaten since breakfast I was really hungry. Cassi made several recommendations and since everything sounded great and I couldn't decide I went with the sampler platter. I got the pulled pork, sliced brisket, hot sausage and ribs. I came here with a large group for lunch. The food was okay, not awesome, but okay. I had a chopped brisket sandwich with curly fries, and it was filling. There were A LOT of very large pieces of fat in my brisket, which I'm not used to. I live in Oklahoma City, and usually when I go to a BBQ joint this isn't an issue. So that threw me off a little. The dining area was clean, but I didn't like decor. I think it's probably more that I'm not the target demographic. I ordered the beef brisket and onion rings. The beef wasn't as flavorful as I expected, and the barbeque sauce did not taste good to me. The onion rings, however, were delicious: I ate far too many of them. We travel between KC and Dallas alot for family, and on the return trip make it a point to stop at Dink's for lunch (we would hit Bartlesville too early on the way south, always get there between 12:30-1:30 on the drive north so perfect). I cannot comment on dinner meals as we're never there that time of day so will speak purely of lunch. Some of the best BBQ sandwiches this side of the legendary Z-Man are at Dink's. Yesterday we had the Dinkster (brisket and sausage) and Burnt Ends sandwiches and both were outstanding. The burnt ends were huge and moist........reminded me of BB's Lawnside in KC. Fries/onion rings are served in MASSIVE amounts..........one serving is more than enough for two people. Service is always prompt and friendly regardless of how crowded they may be. The place also just looks and feels like a BBQ joint. Nuthin' fancy just down-to-earth goodness. This place would be a perfect fit for a Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives episode. read more
