Some of the best sausages you'll ever find. Their Kolaches are simply the best. Service was great, and very efficient, considering how long the line can get. They have a very good system in place for keeping the line going smoothly.

March 26, 2023…read more Stopped by here on my way to Brenham. Picked up a variety $28 I asked the older lady behind the meat counter where their beef and pork came from; she had no clue!!! THAT should have been my first clue...LOL!! Just ate the (small) links: jalapeno/cheese and hot... They were ok, each had a mild kick. Would have liked more flavor to each The huge link from Westphalia meat market in Loft TX that I got grossed me out...it looked gray, had a lot of cheese and was just mushy looking. It tasted like mushy cheese and not beef or pork. The texture was just mush. (the packaging had no info on it either and the counter person didn't know) I threw $15 worth of whatever this was in the trash. I just could NOT get over HOW it looked, the texture or lack of flavor. (wish I would of taken a photo of it cooked...too traumatized! LOL! HEY OWNERS.... DONT buy that anymore! I cooked the beef/pork link..it was good. I cooked the ground chuck...and, the pork breakfast sausage... Both look and taste great. (sighs of relief!) Owner---and fellow Texan...train your staff, educate your staff, label ALL meat you sell adequately, please.

Bar 3 Ranch - No comparison! Another local ranch's meat on left, Bar 3 Ranch on right. Which would YOU want grilled up for dinner?

Trying Bar 3 Ranch meat had been on our family's bucket list for years, and finally, this past…read moreOctober, we managed to snag a half cow for this spring. When our date got closer, Jeff sent over the final weight for our share, and it caught me off guard because it was so much bigger than the past shares we've gotten through other local farms. As it turns out, there's a reason. When we picked up our meat, we found Jeff excited to share how he raises and feeds his cows and why, ultimately, his meat is far superior. (He didn't say as much, but as you can see by the photo, it's incredibly clear that there's no comparison.) We learned more about the care and feeding of cows that afternoon than we thought possible but we loved every minute. He was also great with our kids, taking them to see and pet his horses. Afterwards, he even called me to share his favorite recipe for flanken ribs. But how does it TASTE, you ask? As a reformed 25+ year vegetarian, I can't stand the smell of most grassfed beef that has come into this house. (We've done multiple cow shares before through other ranches, all the same - the smell is nauseating.) Bar 3 Ranch, though... totally different. There is NO gamey smell, no gamey taste and my husband gives me the side eye now because he has to share his steaks with me. It's GOOD. Like, REALLY GOOD. Words are probably not going to do this justice, so I'm attaching a photo of the difference between Jeff's meat and our last half cow from another/local ranch. There is just no comparison.

I picked up a quarter of a steer this morning and I am so excited. I went to the ranch and Jeff was…read moreso great to chat with. He explained all the unique things he learned in Argentina on how to properly raise cows. I could have listened to him talk about it for hours. The meat looks incredible and the marbling is amazing. I can't wait to cook something up this evening! I would highly recommend getting your beef from Bar 3 Ranch!!

I usually buy New York strips, Ribeye Steaks and Brisket. I love looking at all of the cuts in the meat counter. They also have a great selection of sausage. The Jalapeno & cheddar is my favorite! The service is always friendly and the store well stocked. My last trip was for New York strip steaks. I also love their house blended rubs! There's almost nothing you can't find here. They have everything from duck to Turducken. Did I mention the rotisserie chicken or divine homemade pies? Peach & Apple all delicious. Whenever I'm in town, I almost always visit Readfield to make something delicious for the family!

I had a few basic questions about their products and pricing, and it felt like I was inconveniencing the staff just by asking. There was little effort to explain options or provide recommendations. The store itself also seemed disorganized and not as clean as I would expect from a meat market. The display cases didn't look well-maintained, and some products appeared poorly labeled, making it hard to tell what I was purchasing. On top of that, the pricing didn't reflect the level of quality or service provided. I expected better overall professionalism and attention to detail. Based on this visit, I wouldn't return or recommend it to others unless significant improvements are made in customer service and store upkeep.
