Went back for dim sum and the meal was pretty good. They have dim sum all day and they are made to order. There's a menu with pictures and all items are written in English and Chinese though there are no prices (see list below for dim sum dishes). The dishes are made to order and are very fresh. The fish congee ($7.95) was very flavourful and a good size to share amongst 3-4 people if you are going to order other things. The shrimp dumplings were good and the dumpling skin was thinner than most places which is a good thing. The steamed pork buns are good though there were only two per order. The stick chicken rice in the banana leaves was very flavourful and delicious as well. There were lunch specials that go for $8.99 if you don't want to order dim sum. A great deal as you get a soup, rice and an order of BBQ meats or steamed chicken. Dim Sum Pricing: Before 1 pm: $2.90 for small. $3.80 for medium. $4.00 for large. $4.40 for deluxe. 1 pm to 4 pm: $2.40 per dish (s, m, l) 9 pm to midnight: $2.80 per dish (s, m, l)

i stepped in close to opening hours, shortly after 11 am, and it was already busy, tables full of steamers and an assortment of dishes. with the amount of people they usually get, it's rather loud, and can sometimes be difficult to hear the person across from you. aside from that, it's a great experience that feels authentic, like a bustling restaurant in hong kong that you see in the media. the food service is a little slow and isn't exactly piping hot. the food comes in groups, not everything necessarily all at once. however, the waitress came by often to refill our waters, which is something not very common. i enjoyed that. i ordered the steamed pork dumpling, shrimp dumpling, shark fin dumpling, steamed and baked pork bun, steamed beef rice roll, chicken feet, honey garlic chicken, and pineapple bun. the beef rice roll was lacking a bit of the sauce that is usually poured overtop and pooled at the bottom, which made it a little dry. however, once you swirled it in the sauce, it was tasty. the shark fin dumpling tasted far too much like a pork dumpling and was rather disappointing. the steamed pork bun had an extremely odd taste and odor to it. they're usually my favourite and i couldn't even finish one. overall, the food was average at best. it would have been better if it had been hotter. would recommend going during happy hour as prices are lower. great spot if you're looking to try an assortment of dishes and wanting to be full!

Good food. Good service. Went for happy hour. Nice to see noodles (curry and fried) on dim sum menu! 8 dim sum dishes cost about $33.

First time there, the wood was good but the service was kind of rude but quick. Prices ok, quality of the food 5/5.

First time trying dim sum in Canada! This place is pretty good. No wait time to be seated…read more Service was alright. The staff were not super attentive, we had to flag them down a few times. We ordered the usual dim sum dishes. The har gow (shrimp dumpling) and balo bao (pineapple bun) were my favorites here. Their pineapple custard bun has pineapple pieces inside which makes it taste even better. There's a parking lot next door but you gotta pay for it unless you park further down the street. It was very packed inside, mostly cuz it's the weekend and everyone wanted dim sum despite the cold, snowy weather. You have to pay for your check in the front, not at the table.

I really love the system this restaurant has! You sit down where the hostess tells you. Water and…read morehot Green Tea is brought to you. Then carts pushed by other restaurant staff members are wheeled next to you and all around the restaurant to all the tables and customers. On the carts are containers filled with food like Dim Sums and soups and cakes and mango jelly and sticky rice leaf wraps etc. They also have a cart that cooks some sort of meat items too. I tried a couple of different things, mostly seafood items and I loved it all! My least favorite was the mango jelly circle. It was good in an average way but not great. I wish it had tasted more fruity I think. The red bean buns were yummy! This restaurant is pretty big. It is very popular and it's fantastic! I do wish they served items with cheese and noodles though....Other than this I think it's pretty close to excellent!

Every time that I've been there, the place is packed. The interior reminds me of a hole-in-the-wall type of restaurant, much similar to the local shops or known as in Cantonese, "cha chan teng," which you'll find in Hong Kong. When ordering, they provide you with a sheet that has all the food items. All you have to do is put a check mark next to the dishes you want, and flag the waitress/waiter over, and hand it to him/her. I have tried their dim sum, with the selection being limited, but they do offer a bit more on weekends and holidays. The barbecue pork rice was a generous portion and comes with some Chinese greens. The wonton noodle soup is also very good, portion again is generous, and also is served with Chinese greens and scallion. Other items I have also tried include the pan fried beef ho fan, century egg and lean pork congee, and one of the clay pot rices. To sum it all, good food, inexpensive, and large portions that's great for sharing.

+.5 for service…read more Noodle Express, as the name suggests, serves noodles, but also dim sum as well. As other reviews suggest, it's definitely a hole-in-the-wall establishment, and it's reflected by the relatively low prices for this place. My party of 8 tried a wide range of dim sum (some people I was with were having dim sum for the first time), including shrimp dumpling, pork dumpling, beef omasum, sticky rice, curry squid, eggplant, pork noodle rolls, shrimp noodle rolls, and golden dumpling buns. We also had two noodle plates: Singapore Noodle and Beef and Rice Noodle. The noodle rolls were really good, as well as all the dumplings and buns. Everything else was just okay, but for the price I can't really complain. Their curry squids are miniscule in size though, as well as their sticky rice...something to keep in mind if you're considering those two items. Service was excellent. Rushed, but excellent. The employees will attend to only if you wave them down, so don't expect them to just come over. Asian standards here. Nonetheless, Noodle Express does a decent job for dim sum at an excellent price. It won't get the 4-star approval for me as it's a case of "you get what you paid for", but it works for the clientele here.
