Came across Dillard's at the Cordova Mall and it took me back to nostalgia back in the 90's when Dillard's was in it's heyday. Well, it was thriving today and glad to see 3 levels in it! BFF bought some shoes on clearance (not the greatest price of 45.00 for Skechers) and tried some colognes out and it was like back in the day with lots of selections and testers! Dillard's is the best place to shop for the prettiest ladies dresses. And I absolutely LOVE dresses. I like to look & dress like a lady. Ladies, you want to look & feel like a Million bucks, put on a fabulous dress! Hubby also loves the men's section the best of all the stores in the mall. Ehhhhhh. I really enjoyed the home department, the ladies there were helpful when I needed them but wasn't up my butt the whole time pushing me for a sale. However.... As I made my way up to the top floor to look at the baby department for my new grandson, I was smacked in the face with what was clearly a mold problem. As I exit the elevator I notice the smell and the baby section is right in front of me and to the right. I was concerned with the smell setting into the clothes that I decided it was best not to get anything. I made my way down the walk way and started to approach women's under garments and notice a large selection of sleepwear , really nice brands. Barefoot dreams and R. Lauren both my favorite. Nice selection there, however with a young, long blonde haired lady standing behind the register made eye contact several times with me, but never came to ask if I needed assistance. At this point in the visit I was not impressed with the top floor conditions or customer service. So I decided to check out the main floor, more for the younger generation, but it does have perfumes, bags, and shoes. I did get a pair of church shoes from Sofia or Sofie she was wonderful. The Spanish woman in bags was awfully pushy and down right rude when she couldn't sell me a $500 bag. I'm assuming they work on commission. Overall it wasn't a great experience. I'll more than likely go with another department store. read more

Went shopping on November 30th with my family, upon roaming through the isle i noticed dark skin man walking behind us at a very close proximity. I thought nothing of it and continued shopping, after 15 minutes of him following us i felt threatened that he was stalking us and our baby and confronted the man. He then said he worked for the store and left. I never felt so uncomfortable while shopping. I'm upset because the store had a lot of nice things on sale, this is my last time coming here. read more

We absolutely love our Dillards and all of the employees because they are so welcoming and accommodating. We stop a couple of times a month because it's a blast to shop there. Amber down in fragrance keeps my hubby smelling so good! And it's always a joy to see her behind the counter. You have one of the best ladies ever working for you. If you need smell goods, go see Amber! They always have updated fashion, so between Express and Dillards, we can stay current and find interesting fashion choices along the way. Never been a Dillards fan. Like never shopped here. My husband and I are in town celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary and he needed a nice shirt for dinner. He is so picky, so I knew I would be no help. The Staff here were phenomenal!!! A young lady and gentlemen (from the men's department) helped complete his outfit. They pulled multiple shirts and pants to fit his body type. I was beyond impressed and thankful! They also walked us over to the shoe section and let the sales associate know what we were shopping for. She was a gem too! I'm only giving 5 stars for the amazing service that I received at the Clinique makeup counter by a super sweet girl named Heidi! I was looking for a new lipstick and despite how busy she was, she was able to assist me in a timely manner. She helped me select a pretty plum lip color. She went out of her way to answer any questions that I had as well too. A+ on customer service! I bought the new Clinique matte lip powder! Super creamy and long lasting. Will definitely be back to purchase some more makeup products at the Clinique counter! Thank you Heidi for making the transaction so pleasant and smooth! The store when it's open, which is rare, has an appearance of the post-apocalyptic USSR building insider and outside. The clothes selection is random and everything is packed in like the rafts full containers sailed in directly into the store. The store staff are nice and one feels bad they have to endure sounds and smells of the place. The repeat of random advertisement- something for men-is a borderline harassment. It is not a surprise that malls have been closing- this one is a remnant of the past, under-managed and lacking in quality. read more

I had a nice experience here shopping for a dress which I wore to a wedding. They had a nice selection of dresses from casual to formal. The dressing rooms on the second floor near the formal dresses for women were nice and spacious. I am seeing some negative reviews for mold. I did not smell or see anything bad there, so I am drawing the conclusion that something has been done about the mold. read more

The smell...what...the...hell? It's a mold factory in the ladies department! They have an okay selection, but the odor is just overwhelming. I find myself tearing through here just so I don't have to be subjected to the grossness. They've got to fix this. I feel for the employees, it can't be healthy to inhale that on a daily basis. Ceilings and carpet are also dirty. The whole floor needs renovation badly... Men's department, on the other hand, has a great selection, is very clean, and doesn't stink. It's on a lower floor, away from whatever leak issues have caused the mold upstairs. read more

There was once a time when Dillard's was actually a nice place to shop. I'm sad to say that those days are long gone. The smell on the second floor is overwhelming. There is obviously a mold problem and they are trying to cover it by pumping out some kind of nasty perfumed scent. My throat was burning by the time we left the building. The carpets are nasty and I hated to take my shoes off when trying on clothes. There also seems to be a major fashion section missing. The misses/young professional section. There is the juniors and then older woman. Where is the in between?! The folks that work there couldn't be nicer, but I have no idea how they manage to stand that smell all day long. read more

UPDATE: I had a very cordial conversation with a regional Vice President who acknowledged the poor condition of the store. He would not however commit to a schedule for improvements saying only that it has to fit within an overall plan and he couldn't say what that would be. In other words: better get used to the poor conditions because they will not be rectified any time soon. read more

I was in the department store about an hour before closing, I was looking for a dress for an event and I asked one of the girls where the dressing room was. The girl who answered me pointed me in the direction of the dressing room and then proceeded to tell me that I needed to make sure everything was back on the hanger before I left. I was talking with a friend after I had tried on what I needed too and the same girl elbowed into my friend as she walked by. As I shopped the girl also followed me around the whole store. read more

I am a local and frequent this department store. While I am overwhelmed that the mold-like smell has not been fixed for years, I am happy with this store as a whole. For Christmas shopping, I wanted a pair of Kate Spade sunglasses at the counter (but they were defective and not available in other Dillard's), and the lady who helped me was extremely patient waiting for me to decide. She even gave me 50%, took off the tags, cleaned them and gave me a case, cloth and cleaner for them. As for the women's section, I was greeted by a sweet young lady who helped me check out with a beautiful dress. I had to return it two days later (wore a different dress to this event), and another woman gladly refunded my purchase. I am extremely happy with the lovely men's department downstairs - modern, no weird smell, great selection, etc. I only wish the makeup ladies on the main floor wouldn't be so pushy to sit in their chair while I walk between departments to shop. If I wanted to sit down, I would. Other than that, no complaints in the years I've been going. P.S. They have a wonderful Lilly Pulitzer section in the corner of the store if you are looking for that! read more

I was in Dillards in Pensacola yesterday December 26 and I want to give a special thank you to the Customer Service Representative in the kids department by the name of Ayana. She was absolutely adorable. She was in a great mood (especially since she was working the day after Christmas), very patient, high energy, always had a smile on her face and just a great pleasure to work with. Shopping today with my little brother who is in a wheelchair. To say the least, the aisles were difficult and often too small to maneuver through causing us to find alternative routes to places like the dressing room and restrooms. My brother noted that the downstairs men's restroom was quite dangerous because there was no space between the entrance and main restroom doors for him. Thankfully a nice man saw him struggling to enter, and held the doors open for him. I love Dillard's; however, there is no excuse for not having handicap accessible aisles and bathrooms. read more

This review is for the salon only-- I've been there several times over the past few years for color and haircuts. They've been average to pretty good (got a good hair cut from Chase), but this last experience deserves a review. My stylist (older female) does really great color but she spent about 90 seconds on a haircut for me (what???) and when I asked if she was going to cut it after it was dry, she responded she had already cut it and took a huge chunk out of the side of my hair with her scissors. Then, she tried to cover it up with other hair. This 'snip' has resulted in me having to get my hair cut several inches shorter by other stylists to compensate for the chunk she took out. WTF? I would stick with Chase in the future, although she worked pretty slow and was such a perfectionist, I was ready to go way before she let me. read more

I'm handicapped, went to "Intimate Apparel" in a w/c driven by hubby. My saleslady, Cathy/Kathy, was helpful, far beyond my expectations. She explained everything she was doing, measured and fitted me perfectly. So very happy with my new undergarments, and I couldn't be more pleased than how I felt when I left your store. Sadly, so many of today's sales personnel couldn't care less. This dear lady is an outstanding exception. She's a keeper! read more

Visited the salon for a cut, color and dry. My 1st cut was to shorten to a neck length. She went straight across and cut it toooooo short for a straight style cut, like I had told her I wanted. My hair is to thick to be blended, which she tried to do to fix it. Then she tried to blow dry it using a roll brush. It was standing a foot away from my head. SCARY!! Then she used a huge flat iron on just the top of the hair. My natural waves and curls were still under there! The most awful hair experience I have ever had! I tipped her because I felt bad for her. She needs more hair skills or go to great clips to wash, snip and dry. After charging me for 2 unit of color, for the neck length hair, she wanted to charge me 20.00 more dollars for color conditioner. Rip off. $171.00! Had to go to another salon to fix her mess the next morning. She was still trying to hustle me to buy product as I was going out the door. DO NOT GO THERE. A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME. I think she actually thought I was not aware of her major cut error her lack of expertise with thick hair. SUCKED!!!!! read more
