Dollar Tree - Knock off Play Doh, I didn't get it because I didn't know if it met standards as far as toxicity. Went with brand name PlayDoh

You know how that goes! You go in for 1 thing and come out with $50 worth of junk/stuff! I'm guilty as charged! I haven't been to a Dollar Store in quite awhile and I quickly found out things are NOT a dollar. Everything is now $1.25 unless otherwise marked. Whatever, it's still less expensive than a lot of other places. They had a decent amount of Holiday decorations albeit a lot of them were pretty chintzy looking. The toy section is really small but it was sufficient for what I needed. The BEST find today was Play Doh and the Play Doh hair salon accessories kit. The store was PACKED and there wasn't much room to maneuver in there. I definitely felt claustrophobic! The store was relatively clean and the person at checkout was friendly. I'd go back but not during peak hours or Holidays. Also, the frozen food selection was slim. I personally don't buy food from there EVER but I did notice the selection was lacking.

I usually pick up a few 6-oz. tubes of toothpaste for $1 each. The ones that boldy proclaim "30% more vs. 4.6-oz size!" Well, thanks, I guess. Six ounces is also 200% larger than a two-ounce tube, so why not drop the artifice and sensationalism and go for broke? Dunces. The lines get brutal here. Counter-intuitively, you might not think that a dollar store would get crowded, but I've seen the line (not lines...it would take a miracle to see more than one register open) 9-10 people deep. Most of those people pay with coins or something, because speedy dispatch of the customers ain't happening up in here. I usually depart annoyed and irate, although I keep going back to see what sorts of strange food is being offered. Lobster pate for $1 a can? Yep, they have (or had) that, and I bought it. It was nasty, but you never can be sure that you aren't about to eat the best thing ever, so I keep trying.

If sales are your thing-Alyssa's seems to always have booths with either a percentage or a clearance on items. A plus is the Post Office located inside the store as well. So nice to purchase a gift and mail it soon after. Boxes and mailing supplies are plentiful and readily available. The employees greet you upon entering and the cashiers are a plus, they care about your purchases and will wrap them very carefully as if it were their own items. A big plus is Pikas Grill food truck located in their parking lot. Its grilled and the variety is amazing. Also, a yogurt counter is there featuring fresh Acai bowls. The shopping experience was fine until I approached the front counter to check out. A man blocked my way in the aisle. He stood still between me and my friend. He stared at me never smiling or friendly in any way. He said something about asking if I was ok. I told him I was waiting to pay for my things. He moved and I was able to go to the cash register. I asked the cashier who he was. She said he was the manager. This happened a few weeks ago. Still not sure what to think about it.

It's Thanksgiving/Christmas season!! Which means early Black Friday sales and deals!…read more Trigger warning: This is more of a blog. I made 3 online orders in a span of ONE week. Which is quite a lot for me, personally. They had great Kohl's cash deals, more than a week ago (spend $50 get $15 Kohl's cash) and currently back to the norm (spend $50 get $10 Kohl's cash). The online order process was easy and something I've been familiar with for the last couple of years, plus they have an app for your phone! I'm also a couponer (used to be an extreme couponer, during grad school). I was able to get some early Christmas gifts for the entire family, with the last 2 weeks early Black Friday deals! I was so happy and still am! My first order I selected the 'pick up in store' option. There was also the 'drive up' option, but I didn't think about it at the time. So we went to pick it up and I thought maybe I could do the 'drive up' option at that time. But there was no option for that, if you already picked the 'pick up in store' option. So on my second and third online order, which I picked up all at the same time, I selected the 'drive up' option during checkout. It was so quick and efficient! Just drive to Kohl's, park in the designated "Drive Up" lot, open up the email or text message for the "Pickup Pass", open the "Pickup Pass", then enter the lot number you're in plus your car color & model, and lastly pop open your trunk or unlock your back seat door. It literally took them a total of 2 minutes from the time I parked to the time they close my trunk. I can't guarantee that for everyone, even though I had 2 pillows, 3 fluffy throws, and a box of shoes. The associate who came out of Kohl's to drop off my items wore a mask as well. Thank you. All the best in your Kohl's shopping journey! Stay safe and comfortable!
